You know when food is so great you almost cry? Maybe it's just me. Our taste-test with Eco Caterers was one of those times. HELLO bison sliders! For the quality of their work, communication, and creativity, I could not praise Eco Caters more highly. They catered my church hall wedding reception this August. We did all hors d'oeuvres, but it was enough food to satisfy for a meal. AND the food was better than I've had at any other wedding. Several of our guests expressed the same. It was fresh, local, seasonal and organic. After my husband and I did a taste-test of the chefs recommendations, the food was so great (*food weeps*) we decided to let him arrange our menu based on the season's availabilities and his expertise. He sent his list a month or two before the day. One of the seven dishes featured eggplant, which I'm not crazy about it. I asked him to make a dish with okra and/or pickled onion instead. He pulled through on a dish with both! We appreciated their sensitivity to my food allergies. They were knowledgable about adjusting recipes, and made me a special plate to munch during the reception. Like many other brides, I barely touched it. I had asked our coordinator ahead of time if she would make a takeaway box for my husband and me. They happily complied for no extra charge! We had enough for multiple meals. Wish I could give them six stars. An absolute joy and pleasure to work with. I knew my day was safe in the hands of both chef, coordinator, and staff. When we were looking for catering for our wedding it was important for us to find a company that was truly committed to serving quality, unique and amazing food. Eco Caterers delivered in all aspects! They created a menu that was specific to our tastes (BBQ with an upscale twist), incorporating local sourced ingredients (where possible), put together a professional and personable staff, and flawlessly executed everything on the day of our wedding. Everything ran so smoothly and all of our guests were raving about the food. Catering in DC can be a tricky business - the market is flooded with so many companies and you never know if you're getting a good deal. Eco Caterers was incredibly transparent with costs from the beginning, and were so helpful in finding areas of cost savings. We had the slider station and people could not get enough! We also provided a few notes on the food during our tasting and they incorporated our suggestions to ensure we had the menu we wanted. Eco Caterers also works with a bakery that does the desserts and they were amazing!! We had various flavors of cupcakes and key lime tarts that were out of this world! I would highly recommend taking advantage of this service. We worked with Mary and she was wonderful! I cannot recommend this company enough! read more

Over the course of two months, in preparation for my father's 90th birthday party, Eco Caters performed flawlessly on every front. All of the interactions with various staff members were professional and reassuring, beginning with the booking, through the selection of the menu, and ending with the scrumptious food prepared by the chef, sous chef, and then passed by their attentive servers. I can tell by the smile on my father's face that he was particularly impressed by the friendliness and the demeanor of the servers, Janee and Amy. Those special interpersonal qualities transformed a very nice event into a fabulous, memorable evening for all of those present. To my surprise, I have been receiving thank you notes from guests expressing their appreciation for being invited to such a superb birthday party! I cannot recommend enough the value of catering a party vs. doing the work yourself, which is what I have done in the past. I could completely enjoy myself and our guests, without having the responsibility of food preparation or post-party cleanup! Another less glamorous bonus, and one that is probably often overlooked, is that Eco Caters carries insurance, including workman's compensation. read more

I wanted to express my full appreciation for the wonderful job the Eco Caters DC team did with an event I coordinated on behalf of Lindsay Lexus of Alexandria this past Saturday. Their display was absolutely gorgeous!! It added such a beautiful element of design to the evening. John Cosgrove and Eldridge aka "El" came and personally set up the display while ensuring their team was ready to go. It truly was a demonstration of their attention to detail and proves why their catering service is truly leagues beyond others. Additionally, the feedback on the food from our guests was incredible! Unfortunately, I was so busy all night I didn't get a chance to try anything until the very end, which was a Salmon Tar Tar Crostini, and it was delicious! The staff was extremely polite, professional, put together, and most importantly, I didn't have to worry about them at any point throughout the night! EcoCatersDC is an amazing business with amazing people at their core. From start to finish, they handled every detail with the utmost of professionalism and care. Every person that we interacted with was kind and interested in making our event the best it could be. On top of their professionalism, the food was out of this world! So delicious and especially perfect for the theme and feel of our event. During the night of the event, they had friendly and hard-working staff that were flexible and easy to work with. When we had a concern, I spoke with Robert or John and they handled it immediately. My first experience having caterers in my home, and Eco Caterers made it a great one. They worked with me to come up with a delicious vegetarian/pescatarian menu of heavy hors d'oeuvres, and how and where to set them up in the house. The women who came to serve and help, Erica and Olivia, were fantastically communicative and intuitive about making the party run smoothly. They cleaned up as the party went along, brought drinks on a tray from the bar, sliced the cake at the right moment. Best menu items: golden beet sliders, arancini balls, crab cake sliders. Delicious! Shadia was a our contact person and was super helpful to a catering-novice like me. All in all, a five star experience for us. read more

Shadia from Eco Caters helped me with catering a high school prom at Blind Whino/DC Arts Club, and by the day of the dance, I was referring to her as the "event coordinator." That is to say, she worked closely with the DJ, she took care of all the furniture rentals, she met with my prom committee three times, and went well beyond the role of caterer. I am new in my position and new to this city; Shadia made things so easy for me. We are already discussing next year's event. The food was great and Shadia made sure to capture all the little details my 6-student committee requested. The food is very delicious and healthy (compliments to the chefs!), the presentation is always very elegant and beautiful, and delivery is always on time. I've worked with Shadia, who has been so helpful tailoring the perfect menu for our guests. I haven't been in DC long and wanted to impress the few friends I have and hopefully make some more. So I decided to have a nice cocktail party on the roof of my building. EcoCaters provided the food and I could not have been happier! They made a few things like basil hummus for guests to nosh on and then passed some amazing tastes around on beautifully presented platters. Their service staff was professional and personable at the same time. The Thai chicken skewers with tamarind sauce are ridiculous!! I will be using them for any and all catering I need here in DC. Working with Mary and Chef Robbie was a pleasure. Mary took great care of us from start to finish and we were VERY impressed with Chef Robert Wood's knowledge of cuisine. Eco Caters staff took excellent care of all of our guests; they made sure my wife and I were given special attention, servers brought plates to my grandparents, and even made impromptu kids meals at the last minute.
