If you want to pay a lot of money, and then be left cleaning up while wondering what it is you paid for, this is the service to use. Because this was my first time, two people were dispatched to my house. Much to my surprise, they were still later, five hours later. I wondered if they had moved in with us. In our rather modest one bed-room, without much furniture, we were left with toddler paint on the wall and the kitchen table (removable with water), an area rug full of beans my toddler has spilled and cat hair (clearly left unvacuumed), and unwashed floor underneath it. There were also marks on doors left unwashed, the floor under the bed left unvacuumed and unwashed, and I could go on and on, but at this point I'm afraid to even look at how much I have to do for basic things that I expected to be done. I was really hoping that because of a recent knee injury, I can spare my knee and pay the money to have my place cleaned. Instead, I'm cleaning myself today, while $141.45 shorter (plus generous tips). Don't waste your money on this company. read more

The lady used up all my essential oil on I don't know what cause my floors were still dirty. Yes you read correctly, dirty. There was even a huge sticky spot left on my bathroom floor. Then she asked if all was well before she left & I responded "hiciste lo que podiste, gracias" you did what you could, thanks. I was also under the impression two people would be coming to my place but only one lady came. She did a nice job cleaning the basics and getting most of the writing off my walls (I have two toddlers) other than that I can't say I was thrilled. Used this service several months ago and thought it was ok. We don't pay for this type of service, to get our apartment cleaned by a "professional", so I don't really have a reference point or anything to compare it to. I just saw a good deal on Yelp, $95 for $125 of service, and went for it. My house was dirty and quite dusty, and the cleaning-ladies did the best they could. There were some spots that they missed, but they sure did a lot in the 3-4 hours that they were there. They were supposed to be at my apartment at 10am, but called me 10 minutes after the hour to ask how to get to my building. I believe Ecomundo should prepare their people with directions before they send them out, so that they're on time. Overall, I thought they did a pretty good job. I would consider using them again. Prompt email responses when scheduling (I like that) and a friendly staff too. read more

Good cleaning, but furniture left all over the place after cleaning, and ...terrible policies!! Pricing changes and gets higher and higher as you keep confirming your appointment... And after paying a VERY high first time customer rate, they rip you off by advising you on some "pricing policies" that you never knew about to begin with... I was never advised on the pricing policies until after the fact. This is NOT the way to handle business. read more

I was really hesitant to call Ecomundo because of the negative reviews but, I was in a time jam and my daughter's condo needed to be deep cleaned. Within 2 hours of my phone call, two young ladies showed up and started on the kitchen. After a few hours I had to leave for an appointment so, I paid them in advance and asked them to lock up when they left. When I got back tonight, the condo was cleaner than I've ever seen it, the kitchen sparkles and everything else shines... and I'm not a pushover but, they cleaned in places I didn't even know needed it. It wasn't cheap but it was worth every penny. And just a hint... I bought them some juice and a sandwich because they were working so hard and gave them a nice tip BEFORE I left. They deserved it! I contacted Ecomundo on Monday and booked them for an initial deep cleaning on Wednesday. Doris and Miguelina did an amazing job cleaning my apartment. They were so thorough and careful. Our sofa looks brand new because they took the time to clean and plump all the cushions. It was also good to know they used only natural cleaning products which left my apartment smelling wonderful. We hired Ecomundo twice for regular basic cleaning of our 2bed/2 bath apartment as our current cleaner we've used for 5-6 years is leaving us soon. It took quite a few emails to get an accurate price. Their website prices were outdated and that caused confusion when they quoted above those prices. They sent two cleaners who were nice, friendly and hard working. The apartment was clean when they finished. Some minor communication issues but generally able to show them what needed to be done. We scheduled them for another cleaning two weeks later and that went fine. We were away for a week and when I contacted them again to schedule another basic cleaning it took days for a response and I was told there wasn't availability that week . Promptly I replied asking for the next available date and I have not received a response and this was 2 weeks ago. I did resend a request two other times and they have not responded. I wouldn't bother trying them as they are unreliable. Also they are not a great value. The two person team was a bit faster than my current person (3.5 hrs vs 5 hrs) but we also have laundry done and we paid less for one person + laundry than we paid Ecomundo. read more

I had them do a deep cleaning a few weekends ago. They did a great job cleaning the apartment (it was sparkling). It's the first time in a while it was clean and for that I'm appreciative. What i did not like: they charged me more than the price we agreed to due to it being "a real deep clean". I've never heard of such a thing. They also threw away a lot of sensitive paper documents, such as copies of pay checks I've written to my employees. I went through my own trash to look for as many sensitive documents as possible. Hopefully I got them all. I also never received a follow up email or call even though I tipped the two very well on top of the extra $20 I was charged by the company. We've used Ecomundo for almost 2 years of cleanings, once every other week. They have sent the same person, Rosa, along with a second person every time. We are now moving out of NYC and can only hope to find another service that's as good! In the 2 years we've used them they have always been professional, on time, and done a great job with our 2-bedroom apartment that has 2 cats (and lots of cat hair). Sadly this is the first time I feel like I have to leave a bad review to hopefully spare future customers the bad experience we had. Ecomundo came recommended to us as we moved into a new apartment that needed a deep clean and we thought it would be well worth the price to hire someone. We were given a quote that was more than I've ever spent on a cleaning, but if it was to include the front of cabinets, window frames, baseboards, doors and a general "deep clean", I thought it would be worth it. We bought the recommended cleaning products and cleared the space of clothes and items to streamline the cleaning process. A woman arrived who seemed super unhappy and even a little angry. The communication wasn't great, but it didn't seem to be a big problem. She finished the kitchen and I went to check it out, only to find that the cabinets were not cleaned, and the floor was still full of marks. I asked her if she was finished with the kitchen - she said yes, so I asked her about the cabinet doors and floor. This is when she got angry at me and yelled that she wasn't given the right products. I pointed at the products I bought and the mops etc that I'd put out, and she said she didn't see them. Then she angrily re-cleaned the kitchen, and a new situation started where she would clean a room, and yell CHECK! for me to check the room. It was so uncomfortable and her cleaning was not at all up to snuff - streaks left on mirrors, just blatant marks and dirt on the floors, fixtures, doors. I should have just asked her to leave, but instead we called the company and left a voicemail to see if there was some confusion. We didn't receive a call back, instead they called her, which then she yelled at me - but again we couldn't quite communicate so I kept asking her if she knew that we had ordered a deep clean and maybe there was some confusion. I let her finish - my mistake clearly, and gave her the prepared check for the amount that was quoted to us, figuring that I'd just have to take it up with the company. My husband and I spend 4 hours after she left cleaning things - even the bathroom sink was still full of dirt and scum, facets were not wiped, the rugs were not vacuumed well. It was almost comical how bad the job was and it frustrated me so much that we'd spent a lot of money on SUCH A POOR JOB. The company sent us a "how did it go" email which we responded to, but we did not hear back. We even called the next day as it just seemed weird that they didn't respond at all. NO call back, no nothing, But they happily cashed the check, which now makes me feel like I was completely HAD. I don't understand what happened and I can't believe their customer service is such that they felt no need to respond to us. So there you go - money wasted, terrible job, non-existent customer service. Save yourself the trouble. read more

About a year ago saw ecomundo advertised and loved that it was a co-operative green cleaning company. Then found the yelp deal and decided to give it a try. It's been bliss ever sense. We typically have someone from ecomundo come once a month to tend to our two bedroom and they do a wonderful job with attention to detail (admittedly some are better than others) but overal quality is high. Ecomundo are lifesavers! I first heard about them last year through a parents' email group in my neighborhood...we actually have/had a regular cleaning woman we would occasionally hire - she is phenomenal but often reschedules on us last-minute. I figured that a service would be more reliable schedule-wise plus I love that they are a coop and use eco-friendly products. For the first cleaning they usually send 2 people - I was really impressed with the job they did! I have since used them monthly and continue to enjoy great results from Maria, who I find reliable, trustworthy and friendly. I aim to sell our apartment later this year and plan to bump up our services to every other week. The website is very informative (providing details on supplies, special services etc.) and communication with the office is friendly and prompt. I used to use Ecomundo a few years ago. We had to cut budget items, and I was reluctant to let them go. Now we were able to afford cleaning again, I contacted them and had Daisy and Ana come out. We live in the same apartment we had the last time different people from Ecomundo came. They did a good job, not great... but I knew we were overdue so I gave some slack. I tried to schedule a follow up less than 2 weeks later... price goes up to $260 from $115 All I added was a fridge cleaning ($15 on website) and cleaning out kitchen cabinets ($20). When I inquired why, I was told my apartment is bigger than standard size and it's $20 per kitchen cabinet! If I live in the same apartment as previous cleanings, why would I be charged for a bigger apartment since I haven't moved? I'm on the look for an independent cleaning person. Ecomundo is not the same as it used to be, which is too bad because I wanted to continue to support them, but unfortunately just can't trust their pricing strategy. read more
