Stayed here for a night and had a decent experience overall. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming, which made check-in easy. The room was clean, although there was a noticeable stain on one of the chairs. The motel isn't much to look at from the outside, but it was comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. One small suggestion would be to provide at least two waste baskets in the room instead of just one. A traditional continental breakfast is included, which is a nice perk. The only downside was the coffee--it was unfortunately pretty bad. Overall, if you're just looking for a clean, comfortable place to spend the night, this place gets the job done. read more

PLEASE DON'T STAY HERE! Second stay for me, this time otw home! Had to stay here for client's points. We've all regretted this. First, a deposit wasn't taken at check in so they turned my key off. I had to go rectify this when getting a key. Mind you this is the 3rd and 4th stay for my clients and I within a week at this location. All rooms were booked on points and the first 2 stays never required a deposit. My client was majorly p!$$ed when he found this and raised hell. Swears he's never staying at this $h!+hole ever again, thankfully. When road tripping with horses over 7 hours, after dropping them at their farm stay, all I wanted was a shower and sleep. Of course I had an ADA room and the shower floor wasn't installed correctly. Before I could even get in the shower, the floor was flooded. I can't take a shower and walk out to a flood. You can clearly see that the extra outside drain ends before the end of the shower, exactly where the water pours out. What causes this? You can only have the shower head pointed at the back wall, there's no ability to angle it down. While I had blood spatter on the sheets last Tuesday, and black stains on the towels, it's not much cleaner this time. Unsafe for a woman traveling alone! This was the worst Econo Lodge I have ever stayed in. The room looked clean but smelled musty. There was no extra door security (chain, flipper, anything to keep the door being opened more than a crack) on the door, just a deadbolt. There's a window but no peep hole so if someone comes to the door the only way to see who it is is to look out the window, which if you are a woman traveling alone isn't great. Finally, it was also absurdly expensive for what they provide. Avoid it at all costs! read more

It's a low end accommodation lacking cleanliness and needed updates. We would not choose this establishment again. I thought a while about my review to make sure I'm being objective. My sister and I stayed here in July 2023 on a trip home from Michigan to see her son. I accidentally left my inexpensive necklace lying on the bathroom counter at this motel. When we arrived home in Texas, I called and inquired about having it sent to me and the person answering the phone said that they did have my necklace but that they weren't responsible for forgotten items. I explained its sentimental value and they still refused saying they have a sign posted saying they aren't responsible and would need identification to return it. He told me that I would have to travel to Indiana to retrieve it. My sister, who paid for the room, also called and offered her driver's license number and credit card number to meet the requirement of needing identification. She asked them to consider our circumstances and mail the necklace to me and they refused again, saying they aren't responsible and we would have to travel back to Indiana. I then wrote a respectful note addressed to the manager. I explained that I am a senior citizen, unable to travel from Texas back to Indiana. I explained that my husband and I celebrated our 47th anniversary this year, and that he gave me the necklace 20 years ago. It has no monetary value but great sentimental value. I explained that I understood that they did not wish to be responsible for the item being lost in the mail and that I alone was taking the risk. I included a stamped, self-addressed envelope with extra postage. I asked the manager to please step outside a business mindset and to consider the humanity of the situation, and to just please, please drop this tiny necklace in the provided envelope and drop it in the mail. I thanked the manager for considering my circumstances and for their time. Imagine my joy when I found the envelope in my mailbox a week or so later, giving thanks that there are good people left in the world. With relief and gratitude, I was already thinking about giving my husband and my sister the good news. I opened the envelope and it was empty. They actually took the time to lick the envelope, seal it, and put it in the mail but refused to drop the necklace in as well. I was astounded at the hatefulness of this action. None of us has ever heard of a motel/hotel who would not return forgotten items at the customer's expense. Do they just get to keep it? Pawn it? Give it to their girlfriend? My sister said she would travel back to Indiana when visiting her son in Michigan for Christmas, and would go by and get it for me, so I said no more about it to the establishment. However, she ended up flying instead of driving, so my necklace from my sweetheart now belongs to someone else. I'm am by turns furious and baffled by this policy and this behavior from this establishment. But more, I'm heartbroken. read more

WARNING: If I could give a negative star, I would. We stayed at Econolodge in Cloverdale, Indiana. We have had good experiences with other Econolodges, but this was was terrible! We travel a lot and use a lot of hotels. First, our initial charge for three nights was 228. I paid that upfront before we got a key. We stayed Thursday night, 11ish pm until Sunday at check out 11 am. so three nights.... on the second day they took out $128 from my account so we stopped at the office to ask. The man at the desk was rude AF! He tried to charge us for two more DAYS! I said no way and we packed up and left. When I added it up, he was trying to charge us $475 for three nights at ECONOLODGE!!!! NFW!!! that staff was rude and thieves! I doubt that is great business practice so watch your money if you stay here, I kid you NOT!!!! DON'T STAY HERE!! read more

High cost for "value" My room had flying ants/termites! The continental breakfast is a joke-2 kinds of cereal, bread for toast, yogurt, and coffee. Really?!? There's no double lock on the door; I pushed a chair in front of the door so I could sleep. Plus side: bed was fairly comfortable and (other than bugs) room seemed clean and well kept. Good: The room was clean. The price was cheap. Bad: The heater was loud, continuously cycled on and off and the room never got above maybe 65 degrees even though we had it set to 80. The room smelled terrible. Maybe we just had a bad room? I suppose you get what you pay for and I paid $54. read more

Good news, it was cheap. Outside of that I don't have a lot of good things to say. When we got there, we immediately went to our room and noticed the window was cracked. It didn't look too serious, but naturally it was unsettling. Then, about 15 minutes later somebody knocks on our door. Thinking it was one of our friends, we opened it to be greeted by a guy stoned out of his mind asking for smokes. This has to be a security concern. Then, the next morning, the timer on the waffle maker would not work, resulting in many raw or burnt waffles. read more

The room was flea infested which we didn't realize til we woke up the next morning. When we asked for a refund the night clerk said, "but you stayed all night." He told us they never give refunds and we should complain on the internet. We usually stay at Hampton Inn and will happily pay more to do so in the future. read more

I usually love staying in Econolodges when traveling on the cheap. They're cheap but they almost always edge out the other budget motel competition when it comes to standards of cleanliness and little touches like nicer TV's, decent internet speeds, and better breakfast. Much like a little kid, I always get really excited for the make-your-own-waffles in the morning. So I was really bummed to find out they had stopped serving breakfast at 9. I really don't see any reason why they should stop serving TWO full hours before checkout. Especially when you consider that travelers driving through Indiana have to deal with changing time zones. You'd think they'd at least let me have a plastic bowl and milk to have some cereal but no. They're really stuck on that 9 o'clock rule. Yeesh. read more

The room was clean and price was fair. Wifi worked well. They had shampoo in the room but no conditioner. I went down for breakfast at the end of breakfast time and they were out of food because some construction guys were there and they ate it all so that was disappointing. read more

My friend and I were driving across country from NJ to his new military base. We decided to stop here to rest for 4 hours and shower. There was no wi-fi at all, when it is advertised free outside. If you're looking for a 5 star hotel then go elsewhere. But if you need an inexpensive motel that fills your needs; a place to sleep, pleasant staff, quick breakfast then this motel will fill your need. Its off the expressway (but not too close that you can hear the noise) and an acceptable casual restaurant truck stop type within walking distance, also several fast foods and a grocery store that you can walk to. We were not overly thrilled with the place, but we were comfortable and satisfied. Clean but could be better well kept, but what do you expect for the price. Wouldn't mind going back again for the festival, anything closer will cost you. read more
