This place is rather sketchy and the outside is kinda dilapidated. You are behind a Burger King so you may here people yelling out orders for whoppers. The rooms were actually pretty clean, decent beds and pillows, decent and updated bathroom. No problem getting hot water. Not much to complain there. The tv was a nice Samsung with lots of channels, some in HD. Breakfast was as expected bare essentials with no food value. When we arrived at night, it was to a chorus of frogs. Their pool is absolutely disgusting. It's filled about one foot high with "water" but more akin to the Econo lodge "swamp" than pool. It's green mucky and disgusting. See my attached picture. The frogs sang all night. Luckily our room was around the corner from this swamp. Overall, not a bad place for one night. Rooms were clean and area safe for the most part. But that pool and the frogs were just gross. I wasn't expecting a visit to the nature swamp preserve last night but oh well. More options along 85 that are probably higher rated. read more

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. I never experienced bed bugs before until now. Both nights I would wake up scratching and the checkout day I noticed little red bumps on my back an shoulders. I brought a bug to the front desk and showed them my shoulders. All I got was a funny look from the desk manager. I asked for an explanation and what could he do for me and his reply was "I can do nothing". No refund no doctor no assurance that the room is even going to be cleaned properly. Do yourself a favor, don't stay here. The customer service is AWFUL. I accidentally booked a stay through booking.com because I thought Henderson was off 95 but it's off 85. Tried to explain this mistake I made to the front desk woman and she didn't want to hear it. I asked to speak to the manager and she said he'd be in later, to "leave a number" and he would call me back later. I called booking.com to get a definite time and they called her to get a answer on when he would be in. Guess what? He doesn't come in until Tuesday, it's Saturday. No wonder econo lodge is a dying hotel company. Awful, awful customer service. As if moving across the country isn't stressful enough .... read more

The rudest staff I have come across. I called on 05/24/2019 to confirm my reservation for memorial day weekend. I called after 11:00 pm, and the person who answered the phone claimed he didn't have a reservation for me and hung up. I attempted to call back approximately 5 times with no one answering the phone. ​He let the phone continuously go to voicemail. I eventually had to call customer relations at the corporate number, who ended up booking me a room at a Sleep Inn located in Henderson. They told me they would address the issue with the person who answered the phone and hung up on me, however, the customer service given by the representative at this location was reprehensible. I would never stay at nor recommend​ this Econo Lodge at this location. read more

1st off I want to state that in my opinion this hotel is an embarrassment to the Choice Hotels name, our stay was nothing less than horrific! In all the years I've stayed in hotels I've never stayed in a hotel and been so rudely treated by housekeeping, and even moreso by an older gentleman at the front desk, and that is just the beginning! They will play games with the prices, talking to you about regular, deluxe, and then premium rooms. I was supposedly given a premium Room even though I paid for a Deluxe. The Premium Room didn't even match up to the lowest level of most Travelodges, which is the "lowest" economy level of this chain! Holes in the walls filled in poorly with plaster and big chips in the bathroom tub (among other things!)! The ice machine barely worked. In fact over the 3 days we were "stuck" there (they charged our card for all 3 days on the 1st morning we were there, so checking out early wasn't possible!) we were only able to get one full bucket of it over our entire stay! Next catastrophe of staying at this hotel... Traditionally when we're away on a family trip we get our breakfasts together and bring them back to the room to relax and enjoy while we watch TV shows. NOT at this hotel! Believe it or not, but they have a big sign saying breakfasts ARE NOT allowed to be brought back to rooms! In 35 plus years of staying in hotels I have never, ever once ever seen this posted in any hotel no matter how high or low the level of quality was, again, that is until this travesty of a hotel! Another point in regards to this chain that belonging with Choice Hotels... One of the perks of being a member of choice hotels is getting a newspaper comedy it online, or physically available to you. When I went for breakfast the 1st morning the older guy who had the terrible attitude throughout our stay in regards to getting the newspaper that was coming to me. His exact words were "we don't do that here!" and he literally walked away with me still standing there... My last comments will be about housekeeping... unbelievable when housekeeping knocks on your door for the 3rd time at 10:30 in the morning (when you ask them to come back at 11 because you'll be leaving for the day) and tells You that they need all your towels. That if they don't have your towels then and there you will have to keep the dirty towels till the next day. They do laundry at 10:30 and if you don't let them have the towels by then they won't give you any clean towels till the next day!!! run, Run, RUN from any thoughts of ever staying at this hotel! read more

I read the horrible reviews here when we looked online but my wife and I were traveling for the past few weeks with a small camper and ran into Memorial Day weekend and absolutely no walk-in campsites to be had anywhere. We decided a few days in a motel would be the best thing to do. Unfortunately all motel rooms were booked too. I looked online and found rooms here at Econo Lodge in Henderson. Probably vacancy because of the reviews. Sure enough, plenty of vacancy when we arrived. The area is fairly low income but we needed a room and we often like to stay in acceptable low cost motels. We ended up (and actually here on day 2 as I write this) on the back side on the second floor. The outside is nothing special so looking at it you might think the inside is the same. But the room Is actually very nice for a low cost economy chain. It looks recently remodeled, a comfortable king bed with two end tables, good tv and cable, and pretty spacious. Microwave, Fridge, round table with two chairs, desk, dresser, closet, luggage table, and a pretty comfortable arm chair. The bathroom is modern and newish with good hot water, and the whole place is very, very clean with no odors, mold etc like I read about here. Oh, and the AC works good (90+ degrees here right now. I'm from Maine, 90 degrees is just this side of hell for me). The owner is here with his family, isn't too talkative but polite and leaves us alone. We're here for three nights, two days. Asked the maid to leave us alone till we leave. No problem. A Burger King is a couple hundred feet away and lots of small inexpensive restaurants in the area. A food lion 1/2 mile up the road. We went to the lobby this morning for breakfast. Clean, nothing special on the menu but okay. Two cereals, milk, OJ, coffee, toast, small commercial muffins and breakfast bars, and a waffle maker with syrup. I know this sounds like a glowing review compared to the others here but actually it's one of the better low priced chain motel rooms I've stayed in, and over the years I've been in a few. But, I'm calling this one like I see it. For the price point the room is 5 stars... One star less for everything else. 'For the price point'. That's an important consideration. It's not an expensive room. Oh, the pool comments you see.... It's small and on the side end of the motel. It's empty and looks like it's just not used and hasn't been for awhile. Well the owner did not like that and personally email my personal account letting me know he did me, the customer, a favor. This was very unprofessional for him to take my constructive criticism as an personal attack. Do not stay here, there were boogers in the coffee pot of the room. read more

Hotel was the nicest and safest looking out of the few others we seen in the area and decided to pick this one. I have to say the rooms are very clean and have done some remodeling to the rooms. They were still renovating the hotel while we were there but they gave us one of the new rooms. New carpet, fixtures, bedding, and fresh paint. The manager did say they were replacing the furniture and tiles in a few months. Would highly recommend to anyone! Good Value! read more

I attempted to cancel a reservation at this hotel and get a refund of my money because relatives had advised me it was in an unsafe part of town for a 76 year old woman traveling alone. After writing a letter to this effect to the hotel manager and copying the Corporate Office, this is the response I got from the hotel manager: "Apologize but I did not read whole story, no time for nonsense. My suggestion would be to stay home because anything could happen at any moment. If your this much concerned about your safety then no need going anywhere. The people who got killed in malls, theaters, airports, school/colleges, etc. all thought they were safe as well but as I said before anything can happen. There is no safety anywhere, you can be driving and a drunk can hit you and end it there or you can be walking or doing work around your home and someone can come up to you and kill you. I can give you all sort of cases but just know safety is not guaranteed. Most of the bad incidents happen in good areas. Anyways, if you feel our hotel is unsafe and the hotel your stayed is safe, you might want to ask around or call local police dept. and ask, it will surprise you." Now, of course I know you are not really safe anywhere but I tried to mitigate my exposure to what I was told was an unsafe area for me personally. After reading this email, I am REALLY GLAD I did not stay in this manager's hotel. I sent this message to Corporate Office and I have never heard from Choice hotel management either. I am appalled at the response from the hotel manager and the lack of response from Corporate. My letter did not belittle the hotel at all...only tried to explain why I did not stay there and asking for a refund of my money. read more
