I had a perfectly fine stay in here, considering the cost and expected quality! Some little issues like a slightly stained shower and holes in the comforter, but no worse for the wear overall.

When my wife and I say this is the worst hotel we've ever stayed at, that's bad. The room was disgusting. Clearly was not cleaned in a very long time. There was actually feces in the toilet, CLUMPS of dried up hair all over the tub. The room smelled like stale cigarettes and was extremely dark and run down. Only reason we stayed is because we got in at 11pm and had 2 dogs. Otherwise we would have went somewhere else. We spent the day of our stay packing our truck to move from Myrtle Beach SC in 90 degree weather before starting our trip back to NY. After driving over 4 hours, we wanted nothing more than a shower and good night sleep. We weren't able to get either, having to sleep in the filth of the room, and our own filth as we wouldn't even think to use the shower. When I checked out, the man at the counter didn't even ask how the stay was, probably because he knew. I told him how filthy the room was, and it is obvious the tub had not been cleaned in a very long time. I showed him pictures and he seemed surprised, but I doubt he was. I will be sharing the pictures I took with Choice Hotels. Only good thing is the location as it was on our route.

What a damn dump. I paid 79.99 for a place that should literally be condemned. Smoke alarm non functioning. Towel rack falling out of the wall. Everything was dingy and dirty. Flies in the room. Stickers stuck to tv, wall, and door. Drapes off track. 2 lights not working. Stunk. 1 bar of soap for whole room... either wash your hands or bathe I guess. Table legs were bent and tables wobbly. Tub was so slick you had to hang on. I have never stayed in a crappier room. I will NEVER use any econolodge again because of their standards are this, they can take my 80 bucks and will never see another dime and I stay in hotels ALL the time.

Air conditioning barely works after trying two separate rooms. Burn holes in sheets. This is a crack motel for sure. Stay away!!!

This is more than a B&B. A Mighty Oak is a state of mind. My wife and I love the stately aura of…read morerich historical design in a completely modern structure. I mean, we didn't hear one squeak in any floorboard! Talkin' rustic and solid - a wonderful combination. This Inn has impeccable cleanliness and tasteful décor of every room. We came with another couple who are regular guests at B&B's all over the USA. They were decisively impressed. We came for the nearby Yadkin Valley wineries but found simply hanging out at A Mighty Oak to be quite pleasant. We sat on rocking chairs on the 2nd floor covered porch as we read or just talked as the stars emerged in the sky. Then we ascended to the 3rd floor for games (ping-pong, board games, TV sports) and reviewed the substantial bookcase. Of course, a huge facet of any B&B is the proprietor. We all recognize a passion for excellence when we experience one. It's there in spades with Todd, showing up in attentiveness to our needs and a pleasant, playful grace about him and his wife Lisa. And we saw his excellence in that 2nd "B" in B&B. We're talking as close to farm-to-table as it gets since the B&B's rear acreage is home to cows, chicken and plants. And, uh FYI, no smell in the air. Match freshness with culinary excellence and you've got an Rx for memorable breakfasts. I mean, I had never had a Scottish Egg and can't wait to see what Todd has up his sleeve next time! A passion for excellence shows up in every aspect of a business, but when it's a B&B, it can become quite special since they're sort of personal - I mean one actually lives there albeit for one or two nights. A Mighty Oak is indeed one special place. We will definitely return for our Mighty Oak state-of-mind fix!!

Insights: price for two week stay was competitive and flexible if we needed to add/remove a day, breakfast (hubs like the pastry selections and I was pleased with the coffee which was make as you go from a self-serve machine that grinds the beans and then is a pour over), Holiday Inn member points, corporate owned (this has become important to us as we have had huge issues with independently owned hotels like Best Westerns that corporate refuses to address), location in town is easy to get in and out and central to food, pharmacy, and other stores that we needed such as UPS/Lowes. Facility is newer, clean and smells clean but needs some TLC including carpet/floors, bathroom detail in the room such as floor corners and window wells in the rooms. Bed linens were clean and bed was comfy. Room set-up worked well but we selected a room with more space because of the extended stay. Employees were super friendly and responsive; no problem requesting more towels. We used the laundry room (one washer/one dryer) as we often are tromping around our acreage and need to wash tshirts and such; the machines ran well and did its job. The black out shade worked its magic and the window was large and offered a great view of Mt. Airy. We would definitely stay here again. We definitely will stay here again.

Shower sounds like a tea kettle getting ready to blow off the stove top with the high-pitched noises blaring through the room. The linens were high past their expiration date. My pillow case had a mold pattern on it. Gross! The wash rags were not white, some looked like the were used to clean up a grill...really gross! It was just really icky. Each night's rate was 151$ with an additional combined $20 in state/local taxes and occupancy tax. So, roughly $170 per night for lumpy mattresses with worn out box springs and icky linens.
