RUN THE HECK AWAY!!
Plain and simple stay as far away as you possibly can. We rented the room on our way south decided to stay here over the Motel 6 in Emporia. Room was relatively clean. Microwave was dirty and tub needed to be cleaned before use. The mini fridge freeze was gross. Upon arriving and parking we saw 4 cars in the parking lot and was greeted by someone yelling down to us. Later that evening we went outside for some fresh air around 12am. The 4 cars had grown to a parking lot full. Probably about 50 people outside making all kinds of noise. Thank god we locked our door. After going back in thr room moments later someone had a key card and was trying to open our door. This went on with attempts to get in for hours. Tapping on our window, talking about getting into the room outside our door, trying to look in the windows, screaming bloody murder and looking in our cars. The phone says press "0" for front desk and also for emergency. Let me say it did not work nor did dialing 911. Since our phones were in our car for the evening we had no means to contact anyone for help. These attempts to get into our room went on until about 3am. While waiting for daybreak we packed all our bags so we could just leave. We couldn't leave fast enough!!!
After finally getting to our car at about 5:30am we pulled up the reviews and looked a little closer. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ ALL THE REVIEWS!! But what isn't noted in the reviews is that Rocky Mount/Battleboro is 4% safer then other cities. 100 being the safest. You also have about a 1 in 24 chance if being victim to a violent crime. These towns (which are the same place just the hotel areas off I-95 are called Battleboro to probably hide the known reputation) are known for rape, murder, assult, arson, car theft, human trafficking and much more. You're actually safer in LA or Detroit!! And if you do dare to stay here and don't look into this area for the safety of yourself and family. Keep your cell phone with you and don't go outside after dark. THERE WILL BE NO ONE TO HELP YOU IF YOU NEED IT!!! Heck even check Facebook for the crime page. They have more then one shooting a day. 31 unsolved murders and the list goes on. How dare anyone rent rooms to families allowing these activities to go on. Let alone state in the Econo Lodge book they provide in your room that a Manager is always so sight 24/7 when they are not. This is not a safe place. This is no place for families!! You're better off sleeping in your car then dealing with a real life "The Hills Have Eyes" situation. read more
