If you are looking for the Hilton, this place isn't it. However, if you are looking for an inexpensive but good-quality place to stay, you'll find it here. We rented two rooms at the Ashburn Inn for our party of six travelers. One adult and three kids in one room, and two adults in the other room. We didn't pre-reserve the rooms, but the manager was still able to find us two adjacent rooms with a connecting door. The pool is very well maintained and clean, with nice pool furniture. (Honestly, we usually joke that places in this price range are "dead body in the pool" places, based on the quality of pool we usually see -- murky, gross, schmutz floating on top -- but this pool was kind of amazing considering the cost of the rooms.) I have seen other reviews mentioning that there is no wifi. There actually is free wifi here, so that may have changed recently. It's not super fast, but it is reasonably reliable and should be more than sufficient to check your email, upload a few trip photos, etc. The rooms are on the small side, but they are clean and they include a microwave and a fridge. I've stayed at much more expensive hotels in larger cities that didn't have a fridge, so I was very pleasantly surprised to find these things here. The bathrooms were clean and reasonably spacious. I also have to mention the friendly staff. At breakfast, my 6-year-old son, who is autistic, wanted a different breakfast cereal than the first one he'd got, but the cereal he wanted was almost gone from the dispenser. One of the staff members overheard and not only got more cereal for him, but poured it into his bowl for him and asked him a few questions about his trip, etc. She was not fazed by his communication problems in the slightest. I was truly impressed. My single complaint is that of our two non-smoking rooms, one of them had a faint odor of smoke, as though it had once been used as a smoking room in the past. The other room smelled clean and pleasant. Also, be aware that you will only get the price advertised on the sign ($29.95, I think) if you are a single traveler. We paid $35 for our two-person room, and $40 for the room with one adult/three kids. Still, a very good value and I'm really happy we found this place. Highly recommended.

The staff was friendly, value is excellent, I was pleasantly surprised by the size and amenities of room, with wifi and big tiled bathroom. I have been from California to florida to NY, and very few places offer this price range value, or want a higher fee at check-in. P.S. - most travelers will find this off the Rocky Mount, N. After remedying the key issue, I go back to the room and the bed is filthy with stains all over the blankets. The bathroom floors have random bits of crumbs and grime. I literally slept naked because I was terrifyingly paranoid that this place had bed bugs. I was also not made aware of check out time upon checking in, which apparently was 11 am. Housekeeping came to the door 3 times within the 10 o'clock hour. And then received a phone call to the room from the front desk at 11:03 that "checkout time has passed" This place is gross, the staff is rude and uninformative. 0/10 would not recommend. I have stayed at many red roof inn hotels around the country because they allow dogs, but this place wasn't even fit for that. The Waffle House next door is cleaner.

This place is stunning. A beautiful home on beautiful grounds. The town of Enfield, not so much…read more Driving through the town on our way to the house, we were kind of scared. Very run down houses, very desolate town. But, when you pull into the driveway of this house, you totally forget where you are and only focus on the huge house with the inviting front porch and bright, red door. We have never stayed at a B&B before, so we weren't sure of the protocols, so we just walked on inside and started looking around. The house is old and southern, and that is exactly what I expected. There is a huge sitting room, and a very cozy den/study that has a nice TV, leather couch, huge leather chair, desk, fridge, and thousands of books. The dining room is also cozy, and the kitchen is small but nice, but not really part of the guest experience. The real stunner is when you open the back door and see the huge porch, and gorgeous yard and gardens. A little slice of heaven in tiny Enfield. Suzann, the owner, was in the kitchen when we arrived, and she came out to greet us with huge smile on her face. She started showing us around, and led us upstairs to our room for the weekend - a very good sized room with a very nice bathroom, and a comfy, soft bed with amazingly soft sheets. The upstairs also has a huge deck so you can enjoy the view of the gardens from there too. Breakfast both mornings was delightful, and you can really taste the love and care that goes into Suzann and Wayne's cooking. The first day we had yogurt parfait, an egg fritatta, bacon, sausage, and fresh baked biscuits. All were great, but the biscuits were the star....so good!!!! The second day we started out with the yogurt parfait again, then baked apples, bacon, and strawberry lemon pancakes.....heaven! I am not a huge fan of baked apples since I despise cinamon, but these were not overloaded with cinnamon at all, and were not overcooked. This woman can cook!! Overall, I highly recommend coming here for a weekend getaway if you live within an hours drive. There is a nice State Park near by, and a very cool Waterfowl park, but other than that, not much going on within 50 miles. But, to get away and relax in a beautiful home with wonderful service, and being forced to really take everything slow and just enjoy nature and your partner is a blessing. I cannot conclude this review without mentioning Cozy. Cozy happens to be the word's sweetest golden retriever alive, and he will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside the whole weekend. He is so well behaved and loving, and I am pretty sure he knows his job is to give love to all guests so they feel right at home. Love that dog!

I recently went here for the wedding of one of my girlfriends. The plantation is surrounded by…read morenothingness (tiny, tiny, tiny town + dismantled shacks). However, once you get to the plantation, you can't see any of that. The house itself is lovely, with a focus on a "country" theme that isn't too overpowering. Lots of old wood and lots of space for a party, including a wrap-around-style porch that doesn't wrap around. There is a lake in the back with a gazebo at the edge and a fountain of water jets out. The landscaping is rich and green. One note: Her wedding was an afternoon wedding in April and the outdoor wedding was HOT HOT HOT. The sun was also right in front of our eyes the whole time, meaning we had to squint a lot. If I were planning an outdoor wedding, I would try to go at the time the wedding is being planned, to prevent that. Overall, very nice.

The food was excellent (sanitation grade of 99), the staff very pleasant and efficient (continued to keep the food coming hot) ,bathrooms super clean! And the grounds were well manicured - just well kept! Such tranquil scenery to take in on the huge rocking chair front porch or underneath a large tree, sitting under the gazebo by the water or spreading a blanket in the lush green grass. This made for a good Memorial Day - thanks Rose Hill for a great 1st impression!
