The rack that we should have been able to use to hang a few clothes. It fell off the wall when I tried to hang a blouse.

We wanted to stay at a motel with easy access from the car to the room, and this looked like our only option in Avon Park. It is conveniently located but that's its only good quality. The walls were so thin that we had to leave the tv on so that we couldn't hear the people next door.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! If I could give minus stars I would. This is a crappy, dive motel that apparently/reportedly accepts vouchers for the rooms they're unable to rent out. I stayed there for for one week while caring for an ill friend who lives nearby and was shocked at what goes on. During one night there was a group of 5 tweekers smoking meth and partying all night in the room next door. Made several reports to the desk, but the on-duty person would do nothing....repeatedly telling me "well there's only supposed to be two people in that room" - but unable or unwilling to do anything. I eventually asked for a manager to call me (leaving my cell number with the on-duty person) , but no one ever called back. After waiting almost two days with no response, I went into the office and said I was just going to remain there until I spoke with a manager. Eventually a "manager" showed up (identifying himself as "AK") claiming he knew nothing about any problems , and that he'd never been given my message. And like the on-duty desk person - he was absolutely useless. His ONLY response to my observations, experience and concerns was that he could offer me a "50% discount" on my next visit. (Like I'd ever go back). Seemed to be little to no concern with the illegal activity occurring at his motel. The rest of the week there was like living in a Somalian refugee camp and day care center, replete with chain smoking, jacked-up "homeless" people wandering around constantly yelling at their screaming kids (day and night). The only reason I remained was because all other lodging in the area was Full - taken up by race crews participating in auto races taking place at the nearby Sebring Raceway. I had also made the mistake of making this reservation on "Priceline" and couldn't get a refund.

So I added a tip but wanted to put another picture in.

I also wanted to add that there is a service there that if you wanted company in your room for the right pay she would join you. I didn't partake in that service.

It was 130 am and we made reservations over the phone. We roped into out bed to find three syringe wrappers in our bed. I'm not kidding, my wife freaked, but we had no where else to go, so we sleep in our clothes. The next morning we realized there was blood on our walls and on the sheets. Ouch, worse experience ever that I'm trying to forget.

While it may seem like a quaint old hotel, it is desperate need of some work. We were told at…read morecheck in that half the hotel are college dorm rooms and the other hotel rooms. The rooms are old, outdated, and dirty. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. The elevator can only be run by the hotel staff. The closet appeared to be shared by adjacent room. I guess that is why it had a lock on it. No TV in the bedroom and very limited outlets.

This is a review of the locally famous ACE weekday lunch buffet. Other aspects of the hotel are…read morecovered in other reviews. If you enjoy a great buffet lunch, read on! Arriving- The Jacaranda is on Main Street so finding it is a snap. There is street parking in the front and a large parking lot behind the hotel. Availability- The ACE lunch buffet is only weekdays and only when the snowbirds are here. The remainder of the year, lunch reverts to menu-based. Check the website for availability if you're worried. Ambience- Very, very, very nice. Some folks say elegant. Two large dining rooms. See my picture. It's so nice you might worry about the $$ but don't fret! More about that later. Adult Libations- Sorry, not here. If you are dying for an adult drink, there is a great bar seconds away. Have a great lunch here and then head over as many folks do. Just Yelp it. Customer Service- I've visited many times and never had a problem. They serve most drinks by the carafe here and leave it on the table which is much appreciated by many folks. You pay on your way out at a desk in the hotel lobby. Pricing- It's currently $17.50 for soup, salad, multiple hot entrees, dessert, and drinks. And of course it's ACE. Food- The food is stick to your ribs comfort food. There are basically five stations. 1. Pick up your warm rolls and butter here. 2. Today's homemade soup which varies, and I love most of them. 3. A fresh, beautifully maintained salad bar. See my picture. 4. Hot entrees and sides which are different every day. On my last visit I zeroed in on sliced pork tenderloin which was excellent. Note that they almost always have fried chicken as one of the entrees. 5. Dessert. There is a substantial display, but I never make it there as I'm already stuffed! So a four star, sit down, ACE lunch in a beautiful atmosphere for less than twenty bucks! Sound good? You bet!
