I would rate this place zero stars if I could. I guess they deserve the one star for giving me my money back. We walked into a very muggy room that smelled of mold. The air conditioner was off. We checked the bed for bugs and when we slid it out, we found dirty clothes behind the bed. We lifted the sheet to find an absolutely disgusting, stained filled mattress. It was brown. It belonged in the trash. There was a hole in the ceiling above the shower. We paid for insurance when booking online and we were so glad we did. We got the vibe that they weren't going to refund us at first, but they ultimately did and apologized. I don't have any photos because I couldn't stand to be in there. It was disgusting. I would rate this hotel as a negative star, if it was possible!! When we arrived to our first room, the toilet kept leaking on to the floor. We had to put towels around the toilet and on the floor. After two nights of that, then they moved us to another room which smelled,there was dead bugs and spider on the floor and hanging from the wall, a dead lizard in the drawer of the dresser and s*** on the toilet. It's a truck stop. They do have a handicap room on the first floor but you have to ask for it. To give credit where credit is due the sheets were clean and the floor was clean. The hard surfaces were not and the metal fixtures, lamps have surface rust. 1/2 used roll of toilet paper with no refill. The shower was great believe it or not. Great water pressure. read more

We wanted to stay at a motel with easy access from the car to the room, and this looked like our only option in Avon Park. It is conveniently located but that's its only good quality. The walls were so thin that we had to leave the tv on so that we couldn't hear the people next door. read more

I went in and the lady told me the price and told me there was a deposit. Ok no problem came up to 91$ almost 2 weeks later called back to find out we're my deposit was, they said she never charged me a deposit. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! If I could give minus stars I would. This is a crappy, dive motel that apparently/reportedly accepts vouchers for the rooms they're unable to rent out. I stayed there for for one week while caring for an ill friend who lives nearby and was shocked at what goes on. During one night there was a group of 5 tweekers smoking meth and partying all night in the room next door. Made several reports to the desk, but the on-duty person would do nothing....repeatedly telling me "well there's only supposed to be two people in that room" - but unable or unwilling to do anything. I eventually asked for a manager to call me (leaving my cell number with the on-duty person) , but no one ever called back. After waiting almost two days with no response, I went into the office and said I was just going to remain there until I spoke with a manager. Eventually a "manager" showed up (identifying himself as "AK") claiming he knew nothing about any problems , and that he'd never been given my message. And like the on-duty desk person - he was absolutely useless. His ONLY response to my observations, experience and concerns was that he could offer me a "50% discount" on my next visit. (Like I'd ever go back). Seemed to be little to no concern with the illegal activity occurring at his motel. The rest of the week there was like living in a Somalian refugee camp and day care center, replete with chain smoking, jacked-up "homeless" people wandering around constantly yelling at their screaming kids (day and night). The only reason I remained was because all other lodging in the area was Full - taken up by race crews participating in auto races taking place at the nearby Sebring Raceway. I had also made the mistake of making this reservation on "Priceline" and couldn't get a refund. read more

This hotel should be on your "pass" list. Sheets on the bed weren't changed as we saw hair, eye lashes and cigarette burns on the sheets. Toilet constantly clogs after one flush and room reeked of cigarette and marijuana smoke. Only stayed here because we were visiting family in town and this was a last resort... read more

It's a damn shame when you have to go back and negatively edit your review... Originally I gave it 4 stars, my room was clean, beds were comfortable etc... I should have known something was off when my service dog wouldn't settle but it was a new place etc... I digress. I didn't want to travel on Easter Sunday so I extended my stay an extra night HUGE mistake! Shame on me for thinking my belongings would be secure in my room. I left early Sunday morning with 3 med bottles on the night stand returned mid afternoon to a unclean room air conditioner turned off ( CLEARLY someone had been in the room ) and only 2 med bottles on the night stand. When I said something to the front desk attendant she said ohhh I'm not surprised that actually makes a lot of sense REALLY! Wow way to hire thief's and cover your ass by the not responsible for lost or stolen items! I spent my afternoon dealing with the local sheriff and my ENTIRE Monday at the VA fighting to get my meds replaced! Needless to say I won't be returning! Now for my issues... SERIOUSLY... I stated in advance when booking that I was a combat wounded disabled veteran with a service dog and needed a bottom floor room. When I got there the attendant informed me there wld be a $10 a day charge for my dog. NO she is a service dog that is illegal and I informed this establishment in advance. I the. Ask about my ground floor room... No we don't have any available, 2nd floor quite difficult for me but slowly I managed. When walking my dog low and behold I see a empty made up ground floor room! HEALTH WARNING *** BLACK MOLD ALERT *** SCAM We pre-booked our stay at EconoLodge in Sebring, Florida months in advance, but when we arrived we found the facilities to be extremely dirty with black mold very visible in the bathroom area. The entire ceiling was severely water damaged and the room smelled of mold so bad that the small children immediately started having respiratory problems. I checked back with the front desk and was shown 3 different rooms, but every one showed the same neglect and awful mold smell. There was no way we could stay here. Although we spent less than an hour in the room, several family members became ill and took 3 days to recover. Provisions of chapter 509 Florida Statutes from the Department of Business and Professional Regulation require establishments like this to provide safe and sanitary lodging, and the EconoLodge in Sebring did nether. Fortunately, I was able to use hotels.com to rebook with another motel down the road and the Hotels.com representative was told over the phone that we would not be charged. However, when I went to return the key, the front desk clerk refused to honor his verbal commitment citing a non-refundable policy which he refused to provide a printed copy of the provisions. The front desk person, who appeared to be the only staff on the property, was obviously untrained in the hospitality industry. He referred me to the owner, but refused to give me a phone number. I had to walk back to the dirty hotel room, call the front desk, and then connect with the owner. The India-based owner was extremely uncooperative over the phone and smugly refused any kind of refund for my planned 5-day stay. I lost $300 to this shady owner and establishment. I suspect their business model is comprised mostly of offering attractive non-refundable rates, then keeping the entire amount when guests find the inhospitable conditions. Please heed this warning and do not stay at this awful, awful motel. read more

It was 130 am and we made reservations over the phone. We roped into out bed to find three syringe wrappers in our bed. I'm not kidding, my wife freaked, but we had no where else to go, so we sleep in our clothes. The next morning we realized there was blood on our walls and on the sheets.
