I stay here one night a week for work. My usual hotel was sold out one week and I tried this out and haven't gone back to the other. The other hotel was much more expensive and only advantage there was the fitness room. I go to the Y about 3 min away. Here, the room is clean and updated. Huge TVs in first floor rooms. This is not your typical econolodge. Disadvantage, no elevator. I recommend this place for an overnight stop if traveling I-74. read more

Horrible experience. We got there later in day and handicapped spouse was very tired. We accepted a 1st floor room even though it had a broken lock so we didn't get a key. They took 20.00 off price. But the room stunk, the air, carpet and sheets were damp. Never had that experience before. Air con had buttons taped and didn't work well. We toughed it out and complained next day but got no sympathy. It was NOT anywhere worth the $84.00 we were charged!! Attitude of management, Ms Patel, AND owner, Sam Patel, was uncaring and unconcerned. They must think $84 comes easily to average Americans. :( Thankfully, there's plenty other Econolodges that are decent in this country. read more

If you enjoy a contact high from 2nd hand weed smoke as you walk in the side doors or down the hallways this place is for you! The irony of it all is that there's signs all over the place saying no smoking, however it's obviously not enforced. In my younger days I wouldn't have cared but since I'm traveling with kids this trip it wasn't well received. Rooms were clean, bare essential amenities. From what I saw the hotel should be $50-$60/night. Not the $120 that they charged me. There are several more options close to choose from that I would strongly suggest instead of this place! Those traveling to Shelbyville for softball tournaments I would STRONGLY discourage booking at this hotel, not the crowd you want around kids!!! read more

room smelled stale. there was dried urine on the toilet and pink soap scum on the tub (soap provided is blue) the tub was peeling and had black residue at the bottom. breakfast was cold. within 20 min of me leaving they charged a 250$ fee for smoking in the room. no one ever smoked in the room. we can be seen on camera going outside to smoke through out the entire night. the receptionist said if I brought 250$ cash he would stop the transaction but not otherwise and that I could call on Friday to speak with a manager who was in meetings all week. this hotel had previously allowed smoking so it will never get rid of the smell. don't stay here i think this is fraud and that they will charge everyone the fee. read more

Great place for the price! Room was very clean and recently remodeled. Close to Indiana Grand. Sam was very nice upon arrival and explained everything we needed to know. Small breakfast and coffee was provided as well. My only tip would be be ask for 1st floor if you have problems with stairs. No elevators for the 2nd floor. read more

I have stayed at this Econo lodge twice within the last month and each time there is a problem with what I am getting charge. The first time I got charged twice and now this last visit I was quoted one price and charged another. I hope it not a situation of them stealing and more of a training issue. My husband and I were traveling from Chicago to north Carolina and decided to stop at econo lodge in shelbyville Indiana. We had a coupon from travelcoupons.com for $49.99 for 2 people. When we entered the building to the front desk the guy wanted to add another $8.00 to the price for a second person. We showed him that it said 1 or 2 people and showed him our coupon. He would not accept it. Seriously? It also was not a weekend. So he got very angry at us and we simply left. It's not worth an argument with an owner who hasn't a clue. We simply drove up the road to another location. Your loss buddy....honor your coupons! read more

My spouse and I stayed here last night. We had excellent service upon arrival. We had a cab service called Whitten's Wheels and Jason (the driver) was quick to pick us up from the hotel and took us home from Indiana Grand. If you stay here and need a ride ask for Jason Whitten! Well when we first arrived we noticed they were under construction. Lost of noise heard from the outside. When we went to check in the guy said we got the best rate he could give which was 69.99 per night he told us he was going to up grade my parents to a better room. He put us on the second floor next to the construction. We got to the first room walked in and the smell of paint was so overwhelming, we touched the walls which were still wet. When I told the manager he told me to open a window. The windows were so dirty from the construction and you could tell they didn't clean after they were done. The new beds were very nice, but if you are redoing a room you shouldn't use blankets with holes in it. The second room seemed ok at first then they turned on their new tv's and we had lines threw the screen. We let the manager know about the tv he said we could deal with it or move rooms so my parents moved rooms and got down graded to a room that wasn't finished, my parents were up set and asked for a discount because this wasn't the room they booked the manager declined. They had no coffee and if you wanted their "free" breakfast it was only served from 6-8 am, well we were from a different time zone this didn't work for us thankfully there was a McDonald's across the street that served breakfast until 11. The house cleaner was very rude and while she was cleaning rooms she made sure she was very loud and unfriendly to anyone who walked near her cart. I'm giving this place two stars because the mattresses were very nice and location was ideal from the Casino in Shelbyville and a major town of Greensburg. read more

I've stayed in hotels around the world and this may be the cleanest, most pristine, ever. All the right basics- room refrigerator, iron, wifi, etc. Hot waffle breakfast with fresh juice and milk was excellent. The staff is overly rigid about their check-in, check-out rules, but friendly and helpful. I've stayed two years in a row and will again. read more

Stayed here July 2015. They are in the middle of renovations. We luckily got to stay in a renovated room, so it was nice and clean. Overall okay. I think once the remodel is done the place will look great for a while. Breakfast was okay (waffle machines, cereal, bagels, donuts). For a quick overnight stay, it wasn't bad. Price $72 which is cheaper than the others in the area. read more
