I asked for a different room and they put me in a SMOKING ROOM. i can smell the ciggs as soon as i walked in. I asked for a non smoking room initially!!! I left and asked for my money back. My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night when we were in the area for the Spartan Race at Diablo Grande. It is comfortable for one night. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. The room had a microwave and fridge. For being right next to the I-5, we do not hear too much freeway noise. Out in this area, there is not much around. There is a only a few restaurants, a gas station, and a truck stop near the hotel. After that, you have to drive around 10 more minutes on the 5 to get to more civilization. When we checked in, the staff was really friendly and helpful. They do have a pool on property, however it was closed while we were there. However, there were a few problems with the room. We had a problem getting hot water in the shower. The best it could get was lukewarm, not hot. Also, the AC/heater unit in the room did not work. I think it just blew air around. It defiantly never blew out cool or warm air. These are deal breakers because who wants to sleep in a room that is too cold or hot. It can make it hard to sleep at night. For the price, it worked for us, however I probably wouldn't stay again. read more

Old lady at the desk couldn't care less whether there are visitors or not. Said hi to her twice, but didn't get a greeting back. She just stared back in a creepy, bad horror film kind of way. We knew she could talk because she asked us to sign the receipt. Was welcomed by the spider in the bathroom, along with a door that wouldn't lock and a tub that didn't drain. Also saw an earwig during my morning rituals. Only pros were the HBO, decently clean room, and the limit on the tv volume (small consolation for the thin walls that let our neighbors' sexy time sounds filter through at 5am). read more

Beware - unsecure wifi. Had to "force" my computer to use it and turned on VPN... Rebranded, but like everything they do. They go half way, and stop short. Has pools, closed and dirty. Have water treatment. They don't use it, water is foul tasting and smells like sulfur in the shower. Satellite, no or few premium channels and a cheap TV. Fridge, but rather loud and old. Microwave, lowest wattage available ? No in room coffee and no lobby coffee. And they wonder why it is slow for them. They drop Chain affiliation but raise prices ( not worth it) . They could be empty but will try to give you their worst room. I won't go there anymore now that their very RUDE daughter is home from college. I was so pleasantly surprised by this place. My three small kids and I are back and forth from Oregon to SoCal constantly while we relocate, and we've stayed at a lot of different halfway points ranging from Kettleman City to Patterson. This has been the most affordable and most welcoming by far. I was worried when I booked it, but our usual places were full, and I'm glad I took the chance on this "budget" hotel. The room is huge, with plenty of space for me to set the babies (7-month-old twins) up with a play area on the floor, and my 5-year-old can stay in the *very* comfy queen bed with me, or on the sweet little sofa. The desk staff was very friendly and even offered to help me unload all of our gear. For $70 a night, this will be my new go-to stop on our way back and forth. It's half the price of our usual stops, twice the size, clean, comfortable and they even have all the Directv channels I'm used to viewing at home- even HBO. There's even a really good little Mexican restaurant within walking distance (right next to Subway). We will definitely be back. read more

Second visit has been a nightmare from hell Gave me this dinkie room 103 near the vending machine, dead end hallway smelt like pot. Bathroom had been hotboxed by a smoker. For $324.oo for 4 nights I complained. Reservations were made requested downstairs room, said they never received the request, looked at the email, clearly there, along with all the quoted items by the desk clerk. Moved me to larger room handicap room. Smelt musty and fowl. Very disappointed for the money. Won't be using this place again. Very poor housekeeping. read more

Make no mistake, I've never been a fan of Econo Lodge... Many years back I'd stayed at one of their motels because a traveling buddy had made the reservations, but I'd vowed to never repeat that mistake because the room had been downright dingy, had worn decor and depressed the heck out of me. Since then I've changed my tune... Why, you ask? Some of their motels have renovated their rooms and are quite the bargain. Pros: The room was spacious, newly renovated and very nice for the price. It was almost as nice as a La Quinta, only a bit smaller. The motel was also cat friendly for an additional $10 fee. Cons: The INTERNET CONNECTION at this locale was Extremely Slow for a couple of minutes and then the connection was lost, but MOSTLY NONEXISTENT (tried in vain to access the net both at night and next morning). VERY disappointed with the manager's response to the problem. I'd let him know that I'd needed it for business and there was No apology, Nothing... Continental breakfast... Ugh. Bread still in package and large gallon of milk in the refrigerator. Also cereal, packaged pastry and some orange drink (not orange juice) in a gallon jug. ... Seemed as though no effort had been made to create an attractive or tasty breakfast. Last Econo Lodge I'd stayed at in Ashland, Oregon had an attractive display of fresh waffles, fruit, cereal, real butter, fresh pastry and a nice selection of coffees. Very, very low water pressure in the bathtub. NO HOT WATER, only mildly warm. I'd had to forgo my relaxing bath and quickly cleaned my important bits. ;-( Needless to say, I won't be returning to their Westley location. read more

After driving 15 hours my wife , we decided we should get some sleep since our destination was still over 4 hours away. Originally we were going to go to the holiday Inn despite being the most expensive since we feel paying more for a clean comfortable room is worth it , but they were booked. Econolodge was the only hotel with vacancy but we were glad we stayed here since the rooms smelled nice and clean, mattress were comfortable , bathrooms clean with hot water, and we didn't have to pay a ton of money. The coolest part was they have an automatic pancake machine that only takes a min to make.. I would of gave them 5 stars if their pillows were softer, I woke up with some neck pain. But I felt rejuvenated . My wife wanted to add that she wish they had hair conditioner and a plunger in their bathroom. Thank you to the nice lady who unclogged it! read more

Disgusting! I drove up thinking it was new. Fresh paint everywhere. Easy check in, we unloaded all our stuff. When I took my shoe's off I stepped on wet carpet. I looked up and the ceiling looked buckled, (water damage). There is fresh paint everywhere. We were so tired we decided to just go to bed. The bed was old and it had to be full of dust mites. It's 3am and I just woke my husband up to get me Benadryl. I have been itching all night! I am allergic to moss, mold, mildew, and dust. This place has something triggering my asthma, my sinuses are swollen, my eyes are swollen, and I feel like little bugs are crawling on me. I will never experience a motel ever again. If it weren't for my exhosted husband and kids sleeping I would have checked out already. Don't make the mistake. read more

They threaten my wife because she wanted to bring food to the room for our children. She was told that she would have to clean up our room if our kids made any mess. Cereal and toast is what they offer for breakfast. We chose to eat some where else and leave this review. Also there was no hot water only warm water. Very old and tired motel - very noisy, poor security, Avoid at all costs! I chose this location without realizing it is right next to the highway. The manager granted my reservation request of a quiet room. Unfortunately, this low quality room has vibrating pipes in the walls. Great if you want an early morning wake-up, with the husband Ming pipes worse than an alarm clock. My second day at this location included a razor blade in the left rear wheel of my car. I ended up leaving a day early. The desk manager offered no compensation for the noisy room. read more

On a recent trip I was grateful to be able to walk in and get a room for the night without a reservation. The rate was good and a continental breakfast was included. Location was very convenient with easy access on and off the freeway. Matilda at the front desk was very personable and helpful with suggestions for nearby restaurants. Room was clean and the parking lot was was well lit. There is an onsite laundry room. Breakfast included pancakes, cereal, fruit, juice, coffee and tea. The owner Smita, who checked me out herself the next morning, was very friendly and accommodating. This is a good value for the price and I would definitely stay here again. read more

It was clean, and the front desk people were very nice during check in, however unfortunately my son got really sick the night we stayed and ended up throwing up on the bed. I took the blanket off right away and rinsed it in the tub. At check out I let them know so they knew to clean the blankets and they changed their attitude completely, they looked so annoyed and mad that my son had thrown up. Also the tiles in the bathroom were all lose and my daughter kept getting her foot pinched by the ones that would come up and down as she walked on them. Not too bad! The staff are hard working and friendly as well as very accommodating! My son plugged up the toilet and someone was sent within minutes. What I LOVED the most was that the mattress had a complete zippered enclosure which helps to prevent bed bugs. I had a terrible experience with bed bugs in the past elsewhere, so this was the first thing I checked for. The room was clean and was perfect for our one night stay. Yes, the walls were a bit thin, but just turn on your "white noise" on your phone app and voila! Great price too for a nice clean room with friendly service and this is why I rated a 5 star. No stars, bed bugs galore. Do not stay here ever. The zippered mattress didn't prevent bed bugs. I worked from 5 am until 11 pm found this spot checked in. Beyond tired, showered got into bed about a half hour later bite here bite there. I turned on the light bed bugs. Needless to say i didn't get any sleep. Amazing stay. Family-run, clean, big rooms, comfortable beds, everything worked great, etc. And only $10 for the dog to stay with us! The lights in the rooms were nice and bright, all furniture was clean, bathroom was clean, not even any marks in the tub! It has a medium sized fridge, microwave, but no mini coffee maker - you just go the lobby. Automatic pancake maker, cereal, fruit and pastries for breakfast. It was delicious. In the spring time, the hills all around are green and boundless, it's absolutely amazing! Highly recommended and I'm coming back! read more

The room itself was decent, but my overall experience with the hotel was mediocre. When I checked in, hotel staff tried to charge my credit card for a second time. I informed them that I had already booked and paid for the reservation online, then had to show them the emailed confirmation code and itinerary. The Free Breakfast is non-existent, even by continental breakfast standards. Pool & Hot tub area are closed, and look like they have been for a while. I was approached by a random stranger in the parking lot, asking to come into my hotel room and use my bathroom? No thanks. The staff are nice enough, but unclear about their policies! When I booked online it said econolodge was pet friendly. However, I was approached in the morning, and yelled at for bringing my medium sized dog. Even if my dog was allowed back, I doubt I would stay here again. read more

Stayed in November 2017. Checked in at 3 AM because was passing through and getting sleepy. First room: I inspected bed mattress lifting up corners Of bedsheets looking for bedbugs. No bedbugs but found brown stain with particles and horrific odor of poop on the mattress cover. It was covered by the bedsheet. Moved to s second room. The toilet had particles of poop on toilet rim. I was too tired to move to a third room. Slept and checked out later. The bed of second room passed inspection although the bedsheet had old permanent stains in them. Safety is questionable. I have stayed twice here. First time was with daughter. Second time was alone. When I was alone I wished I had my CCW and a handgun. Rooms don't feel safe. Cannot recommend the place read more

My wife and I recently stayed at this Econo Lodge purely by chance. To our great surprise, we woke up the next morning feeling wonderful. The beds here had recently been updated with Simmons Beautyrest 360 Signature III Eurotop mattress'. We have a Tempurpedic at home and we're very disappointed that our expensive $2000+ mattress isn't as good as this. Also, the room was clean and nice, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I saw some other reviews that complained of low / no hot water, bad carpets and water damage. We didn't find ANY of those complaints. We didn't have time to checkout the pool, so I can't comment. The price was good. But the manager walked into my room as I was getting ready for bed. I was shocked. I couldn't understand him as his accent was so strong. Breakfast was very poor. Toast, apples. They ran out of coffee and didn't refill it The manager was out front yelling at a guest about a broken shower rod. The guest was swearing on his Mother's grave that he new nothing about that and wanted to know why they had gone into his room when he wasn't checked out yet The staff was friendly but the altar in the office was weird. i don't know what all the other people are saying about this hotel review. I stayed here multiple time. They have remodel their room. For around 60 bucks this is a really good motel. I also have stayed the motel around the street and next door to this Econo Lodge, but their room were not that good at all. so i decided to stay at the Econo Lodge, Ill tell you what thats probably the best decision I make. I travel down I-5 two three times a week and now I just stay at this motel. Worth your money 100%. read more

Horrible experience! Made a reservation around 11pm so we could stop along our way and we got there a little after 1am and the worker was asleep and not very flexible. He wouldn't let us check in, or anything even though the reservation clearly says "guaranteed for late arrival" good thing Expedia is so helpful! I don't recommend this place! Economic price. HOWEVER, there were cigarette burns and holes in the blankets in a NONsmoking room, itchy/scratchy sheets. Dust mites are everywhere, we were all itching through the night nonstop. The entire hotel smelled like a combination of wet rags and incense. The lobby was so strongly saturated in the smell it gave my family a headache. Their coffee provided for breakfast tasted like perfume in addition to the fact that there wasn't much to eat in the first place. If ever in the area, I would recommend spending a few extra dollars and going someplace else. read more

Stayed here with my family on the way to San Fran from Yosemite National Park. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. It was exactly what we were looking for, a safe place to rest for the night and recharge for the next day. The price of the room was also very affordable and they had a complementary breakfast set up as well. We stayed in this motel while looking for a place to live. We had just pulled a fifth-wheel camper cross country with a cat onboard, we had driven for 4 days, couldn't find an RV park at short notice, and honestly I would have rented a cardboard box if it had ample parking and a shower. Considered the Stabby Joe's (tm) across the road, but decided against it. Checked in with no expectations at all, and was very pleasantly surprised by the modern décor and cleanliness. I'm afraid we were somewhat rumpled and grumpy, but the desk clerk was very helpful and friendly. There is plenty of room to park an rv or truck around back, free Wi-Fi, fridge and microwave, and I brought my cat inside for $10 a night, which is a bargain. Altogether happy, and the only thing making this review less than 4 stars is the breakfast. There was coffee, cereal, toast, and orange juice. Would have liked a little more selection, but the coffee was great. Who'd have thought there would be such a nice hotel this far away from the city? read more
