Had a fair number of ant hills in the front driveway and back patio and yard. To start, the tech was very late. While this is typical type of problem, no one called me to give me a heads up. Upon arrival, the tech was professional and responsive to my questions. When he finished applying the ant bait, he specifically stated that he would be back in 10 days to see the progress and determine whether further action is warranted. The bait worked quite well and most of the ants are gone. But weeks have now passed, and I've heard nothing but crickets from the company. They quoted me a very fair price compared to other competitors charging ridiculous estimates for a small job ($200) He was also generous in honoring military discount on the service (setting up traps and follow up with plugging of holes with wire mesh). Can't recommend James enough! We had stopped using another larger pest company years ago that had required a recurring service contract. I called James from EkoTek when I noticed the ants were marching 2 by 2 across the living room floor, and my pup was going crazy! I wanted a quick reliable service without the requirement for recurring visits. James didn't disappoint, he was prompt getting out to us and one treatment did the trick! You don't wake up expecting to become a huge fan of a pest control company. Andrew and James came as a referral from another extremely well-rated pest control team due to a super tight (same day) timeframe. Frankly, it was one of the best experiences I've had with not only a pest control business but (genuinely) ANY business. After a quick message to James in the morning, he confirmed that they'd make the trip to us the same day--at 9am! (Obviously can't guarantee for all appointments, as they deserve to be extremely busy, but an amazing start to a great experience.) Andrew arrived on time and was clearly very knowledgable. He got right to work, first walking around the interior and asking about "our woes" (we had a mouse try to live rent-free) while identifying key entry points around the outside of the house--all the meantime explaining why simply filling gaps in the wall on the inside of the property (a move I almost resorted to late the night before) wasn't a complete or long-term solution. He proceeded to show me (and secure) a few very hidden possible areas of entry around the outside of the house before proofing the inside for any pests that remained. I called on a friday afternoon after 5pm and spoke to James. He was at my house the next day by 11:30am. I just moved into a new house 2 weeks ago and my wife and kids saw some crawling pests. We had EcoTek come out and spray some hornet nests about a year and a half ago, and didn't have much issue at the time. They came out, did the job, and knocked a little bit off the price because of some kind of communication mishap that I can't remember the details of now. All in all, the job got done, and we were satisfied. I called them again last month to repeat the job, as the hornets came back again in several places. The owner told me he could come out "likely" that same day, and if not then, then the following day. This was on a weekend. We were in and out a lot over the weekend, so we didn't pay much attention to whether he'd arrived or not until Monday. He'd told us it would be fine if we weren't home, he'd just invoice after, since we were already in the system as a previous customer and he had all of our info. On Monday, I realized that the nests were still there and he hadn't shown. We got busy with other stuff and a few weeks went by. On Friday of this past week, I called EcoTek again to see if they could provide service over the weekend ahead of our house being painted on the following Monday. I figured the previous time a few weeks back was a miscommunication and I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt since we'd had an okay experience previously. I left a voicemail for the owner, who apologized when he returned the call within the hour, and got my voicemail instead. He promised he'd keep the phone on and await my return call. I called back 2 minutes later and didn't get him; we connected within a 30 minute window from his message and it was like he didn't remember I was the same person he'd just left the apologetic message for even though I gave my name again and said I was returning the call I just missed. Anyway, long story short, we agreed that he could come out and spray the nests between 10-12 that day since we were located nearby. He took our info again, and said he'd call once complete. We didn't ever get a call, and when we returned home Sunday night, the nests were still there. Not sure what the issue is here, maybe it's a busy time and an assistant is needed, but this clearly was definitely not the same mostly positive experience we'd had before. After three tries with EcoTek, we'll be using other pest control options. There is a happy end to the story, though: the house painters were able to neutralize the nests and hit it with the power wash, so all in all, no one got stung. read more
