My boyfriend and I went on the kayak tour with Justin. We had an awesome time. Justin was great, accomodating, was a great tour guide and lots of fun. The water was beautiful and clean, and very scenic navagating the canals between thehigh grass. We really enjoyed ourselves. Justin was also great in that he honored a truilia. I did check w/ him to make sure that he/his business was compensated b/c trulia took client money and then literally closed up shop and ran. To be honest, if he told me trulia had not compensated him, i would have happily paid twice. It was a really great way to spend the day at the cape. Two disclaimers. The kayak tour is not at the Jarves address. That is just where a sign w/ directions to the beach/parking ($5 or $10) is available. Also none of the businesses near the sign at Jarves St have any public restrooms, so that could be an issue. I nicked a star b/c I had difficulty getting in touch w/ Justin to arrange the tour closer to the date. So we just took a Thursday off and winged it. We were lucky there were two slots open. Other people on the tour did say he called them back promptly and this wasn't an issue. He does spend a good portion of the day outside working, so its possible he just missed my messages. This is a nice way to spend a relaxing afternoon. We did a 2-hr tour with a few friends, using a Groupon deal. The tour itself was neat, never kayaked through an estuary before... it seems like it'd be a good way to introduce someone who's never been kayaking before, to start here, before doing anything more open water. The tour itself was decent, however, because we were in a group of 8, it was hard to hear majority of what the tourguide was saying, unless you happened to be the kayak that was right next to him. Another downside of kayaking an estuary vs something more open water is that several times, it begins to be more like bumper boats in some parts! Overall, a nice experience and a neat alternative for something to do on the Cape. However, communication could have been better. The tourguide told my friend organizing, that he'd call her the day before with more details, but never did. Also, the address that is given, actually leads you to the front of an art gallery and only a placard out front advertising "ecotourz" without an address telling you how to get to the actual meeting area (which is ~1 mile away). read more

This was my second Kayaking experience. My fiancé and I were on vacation in Hyannis and stumbled across Eco Tourz on Groupon.com. We got an amazing deal for a two hour tour. Justin was awesome about getting back to us via phone about scheduling, weather conditions, tide, etc. He was very accommodating and friendly. It was relatively easy to navigate around the estuary and we were given time at the beginning to practice, as we got there a few minutes early. Justin told us some interesting information regarding the historical and environmental aspects of the area. Overall it was a fabulous morning/afternoon on Mill Creek! We couldn't have asked for a better end to our vacation! If we are up in Cape Cod again next year, we know where we are coming for kayaking! Thanks Justin! Tips: 1.Use a bathroom at local gas station prior to coming to boardwalk 2. Wear lots of sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and bug spray. (He has some there in case you forget) 3. We booked an eco tour for 10 kids ranging in age from 15 to 4 and two adults in their mid 60's. Pretty diverse. Justin, the owner, returned our call promptly and made a recommendation that we do a low tide tour due to the age of the young kids. We were told where to park, for free, and the kayaks and paddle boards were ready and waiting for us. The additional help from the staff was appreciated in getting the kids settled. Justin was knowledgeable and friendly, and did a great job. After an hour, we could see the kids were getting restless and we paddled back to the basin where Justin let the kids try any boat or board they wanted to just have fun. They had a great time. A 2 hour tour is a bit much for the younger set, but the paddle time suggested by Justin was awesome. Highly recommend. read more

We had a wonderful time kayaking through ECOtourz. Unfortunately I can't remember the owner's name, but he was one of the nicest guys I have talked to. We had fout adults and two children in our group. Right after explaining the rules and paddling tricks to the adults, he pulled both kids aside and worked with them to make sure they understood too. He was patient and explained things twice when we needed it. We rented kayaks for an hour and he was cool even though we took a little more than an hour. We called to reserve kayaks early in the morning and when we told him we had children with us he told us to come by at a low tide time where it would be safer for the little ones to be in the water. We forgot to bring bottles of water with us buthe had a cooler full and gave each of us a free one. The estuary was beautiful and ends with a cute waterfall. Next time I am in Sandwich we will definitely do another rental with him. read more
