All proceeds for sailing go to maintaining the tall ship and staffing. I loved it. The crew made it fun they were nice and down to earth. Plus the group was small so it offered a level of intimacy that if fully sold out we wouldn't have experienced. We brought our dinner and drinks, enjoyed to views and sailed on a beautiful tall ship. It was the perfect ending to our Vineyard weekend.

My boyfriend and I wanted to do something different so we tried kayaking. Our guide was wicked laid back but extremely knowledgeable. Being a little nervous of flipping, he rassured me everything would be fine. I am hoping to get back there this summer....if I can afford the vineyard that is. If we do make it, mvea is on the top of our list because it's affordable and surprisingly a lot of fun. I encourage anybody going to that island to do something different. I find that wildly invasive especially since I'm happy to pay any money I owe as long as I'm told I owe it! While the tour was great I found this incredibly upsetting because not only was my privacy invaded but my original credit card information I supplied them has clearly been lost. Too bad because the tour was great. I'd be cautious using this company-if you do, don't supply them with your credit card information because they mismanaged that information. Be careful using groupons or they might call your parents!

The BYO private tour took us to their oyster farms and taught us about sustainable oyster farming. We learned so much and then got to enjoy the fruits of their labor - fresh oysters literally plucked and shucked before our eyes, Julia's take on Oysters Rockefeller- topped with crunchy bbq chips - and fresh seared scallops made on the boat. Truly the best (and most delicious) experience on MV! We had a blast eating, drinking and boating around. 10/10 experience that everyone should take advantage of!

Captain Fred was so much fun (kind of a character himself!) and he's really knowledgable and indulged all my questions, telling me about how the boat works and teaching us a lot. We sailed from Vineyard Haven around Oak Bluffs and then moored near State Beach so we could all jump off the boat and go swimming. We had lunch on the boat and then sailed back. I highly recommend Ishmael for anyone who wants a unique, and genuine experience. Since the boat is privately owned, there is nothing commercial about it and you get a real sense of sailing the way the locals do it. And if there's good wind, there is nothing like skimming through the waves, feeling the spray of the ocean, as you take in the beautiful view.
