The canal bike path is beautiful - peaceful, pristine, and not crowded. It was challenging for us to go the full 13 miles up and back (we aren't experienced cyclists so it took about 2 hours), but we only had to stop a couple times. The staff at Rideaway were very helpful at getting us onto the right size bikes and explaining the route - highly recommend!

I was looking for a particular item and they did not carry it, but the woman I spoke to said they would get it ordered for the store and that it would be in within 7-10 days. Since their nationwide competitor had it on the shelf they ordered a case to have it in stock for everyone. Take a moment to think about how impressive that is. Flip the scenario and but a big box retailer in that position. Would they immediately put an item on their next order from a vendor to stock it in the store? Does the store manager even have that power? Or would they be more likely to direct you to their website? Very few of us will ever run into Bezos at the supermarket, so why line his pockets? Almost all of us will run into Ryan and his staff outside of Mocean, either having fun on the trail, or at an event supporting the community. Keep this in mind when shopping.

The water was beautiful and clean, and very scenic navagating the canals between thehigh grass. We really enjoyed ourselves. Justin was also great in that he honored a truilia. I did check w/ him to make sure that he/his business was compensated b/c trulia took client money and then literally closed up shop and ran. To be honest, if he told me trulia had not compensated him, i would have happily paid twice. It was a really great way to spend the day at the cape. Two disclaimers. The kayak tour is not at the Jarves address. That is just where a sign w/ directions to the beach/parking ($5 or $10) is available. Also none of the businesses near the sign at Jarves St have any public restrooms, so that could be an issue. I nicked a star b/c I had difficulty getting in touch w/ Justin to arrange the tour closer to the date. So we just took a Thursday off and winged it. We were lucky there were two slots open. Other people on the tour did say he called them back promptly and this wasn't an issue. He does spend a good portion of the day outside working, so its possible he just missed my messages. Anycase, still worth it. We had a wonderful time.

The tour itself was neat, never kayaked through an estuary before... it seems like it'd be a good way to introduce someone who's never been kayaking before, to start here, before doing anything more open water. The tour itself was decent, however, because we were in a group of 8, it was hard to hear majority of what the tourguide was saying, unless you happened to be the kayak that was right next to him. Another downside of kayaking an estuary vs something more open water is that several times, it begins to be more like bumper boats in some parts! Overall, a nice experience and a neat alternative for something to do on the Cape. However, communication could have been better. The tourguide told my friend organizing, that he'd call her the day before with more details, but never did. Also, the address that is given, actually leads you to the front of an art gallery and only a placard out front advertising "ecotourz" without an address telling you how to get to the actual meeting area (which is ~1 mile away).

Our guides were happy to chat when we wanted to, and just as willing to let us be a little separate from the group when that's what we wanted. But they always kept an eye on everyone. While my wife has kayaked before, I hadn't, but this has made me eager to come back to them. They are thinking of more kinds of trips to offer--can't wait to see what they come up. That in itself wouldn't be so terrible but I found out because they called my PARENTS instead of me to collect this money. I find that wildly invasive especially since I'm happy to pay any money I owe as long as I'm told I owe it! While the tour was great I found this incredibly upsetting because not only was my privacy invaded but my original credit card information I supplied them has clearly been lost. Too bad because the tour was great. I'd be cautious using this company-if you do, don't supply them with your credit card information because they mismanaged that information. Be careful using groupons or they might call your parents!

Currents were not overwhelming and plenty of private docks around in case of emergency. Obviously some had no docking signs but a nice peace of mind in case of a true emergency.

The scenery was beautiful and calming from all the crabs to the birds. We rented Kayaks ($20 a person for 1.5 hours) and they provided us the option to go down to the beach (1.5 miles) or up to the lake (1 mile). They had life vests for all ages. They educated us on which way the River was flowing so we knew what best suited us. Overall made for a very pleasant morning.

He identified lots of birds and other creatures for us, including laughing gulls, fish crows, cormorants, horseshoe crabs, stripers, and seals during our 3 hour trip. It was all fascinating. During the break, he caught a horseshoe crab and told us a lot about them, then did a show and tell about Cape shellfish. And of course, kayaking on the Cape on a perfect July day - doesn't get much better! The water was cool and clear, all the equipment was in great shape, and all we had to do was show up and follow Matt out into the windy, grassy waterways. I'd go again tomorrow if I could!

Looking for something active, but in nature, my gf and I started to look for something. We eventually stumbled upon Cape March Kayaking. Never having done a kayaking tour before, we were unsure what to expect. To quickly sum up our tour, it was fantastic! When we arrived we were met by our guide Matt. He was personable, knowledgeable and made us feel safe and secure. After a brief safety discussion, we were off. Matt, answered all of our questions and provided insight into the birds and fish that inhabit the marsh. I usually don't don't review services, but felt a need here. I highly suggest people book Cape Marsh!
