I was trying to wait until we got the full album (she has already sent us some stunning sneak peeks!) back from our wedding last week to leave a review but I just can't! If you're even slightly considering hiring Danielle for any type of photography...DO IT. Hiring Danielle to take my engagement and wedding photos was the single best decision I made throughout the entire wedding planning process. From our introductory phone call to our last set of emails about fixing a (beautiful absolutely perfectly shot) wedding photo (that was ruined by a wedding crasher), Danielle was nothing but friendly, warm, professional, knowledgeable, and all-around delight. A huge amount of our guests commented how kind and unobtrusive Danielle was and how they wished their wedding photographer had been more like her. And I haven't even gotten to her talent yet. My husband and I both don't particularly love having our photo taken and, if I'm being honest, we haven't worn more than sweats in the last 2+ years since we both work from home. Danielle was such an amazing photographer to work with before, during, and after our engagement photoshoot! As soon as we met her, we knew instantly that we would like her. A couple of minutes into our session and she was basically our BFF for the entire duration of our shoot. She made us feel so comfortable that we almost forgot we were surrounded by so many people at the UC Davis Arboretum, which was during November when nearly everyone in the surrounding area goes to take their family photos. We giggled and laughed and giggled some more, but all of that made for some genuine and beautiful photos. When we received our previews, we were amazed by how great they all turned out. It made it really difficult for us to select a finite amount of photos, but we persevered! We originally hired Danielle about a year ago to do engagement photos (April 2020) and then our wedding (October 2020) after meeting her a couple of times at two wedding fairs. I was first sold on the amount of natural light she uses and that I was able to hold some (nerdy) conversations with her; I teach for a living, so talking comfortably with another adult that's not my coworker is another plus. Anyways, COVID hit and we kept postponing our engagement photos in the hopes that it would get better; so thanks to Danielle for being so flexible and patient while we all waited. We ended up doing a intimate wedding last month with some close friends and family. Since it was such a small gathering, Danielle happily swapped out our 2 hour engagement session with 2 hour wedding coverage. During our wedding she did a great job guiding us through with COVID appropriate, comfortable, and natural poses with our friends and family! She also had asked us for a quick timeline and list of photos a few nights before, which made everything seamless. Her 2nd photographer helped with keeping track of that list and making small adjustments during our "romantic" part of the session, where Danielle excused the rest of our friends and family for some private time with my husband; that was a great help, so we could focus on ourselves and not feel as subconscious with a crowd. We got our sneak peeks within a few days and our entire session a month later! Danielle is great - I'd recommend her without hesitation. I contacted her with a somewhat unorthodox request. My competition horse was retiring and I wanted some nice photos with him, and also some family shots with my husband and our dog. At times it was total chaos - my horse kept rearing and calling for his girlfriend back in the stable, my dog got loose and chased some goats, etc. - but Danielle handled it like a total pro. It can be really hard working with animals in the best of times, but she managed to capture a set of really wonderful photos despite the challenging setting. This review is long overdue but Danielle is such an awesome photographer my fiancé and I had so much fun doing our engagement photos with her. She had us laughing and was making it so much fun for our pictures. You will not regret booking Danielle for any and all of your special moments in your life. As all of you know, finding a good photographer for your wedding is one of the most important vendors to book. She did our engagement photos first and we knew right away we wanted her there for our wedding day! She has an eye for good poses, backdrops, etc. and we were so impressed by her professional manner. It rained all week and all morning the day of our engagement shoot and she had put together so many back-up plans and creative ways to take pictures in the rain. We got lucky and it cleared up for an hour for us, but I appreciated all of her hard work and it put my stress at bay. Leading up to the wedding, she would check in with me, send me ideas, and she changed around the schedule so many times to accommodate our schedule. She even sent me the cutest little care package to take a bubble bath, light a candle, drink champagne, and eat chocolate to relax before the wedding. SO thoughtful and personable which (trust me!) helps with the planning process! Our wedding photos are amazing and I cried the first time I looked at them.
