Sherwin Williams consistently lives up to the their product and that's why we love the paint here and everything else that comes along with it. These folks are located on Albany Ave in Kingston and open really early in the morning- something my husband and I liked- especially since we come to our home in the Catskills on weekends. The space is well-kept, service is professional, price is fine and it's simple to get to.

I researched some low VOC paints and turns out Sherwin Williams sells a good one (their Duration line). That's about as much as I knew when I went in. The sales person Lynn gave some really useful input about the color choices I was considering and sheen level - without being pushy. And i got 30% off because they were having a Labor Day sale. Anyway I was really pleased with the final selection and professionalism at this store and will probably go here for all my paint needs upstate. Ask for Lynn - she was awesome.

My grandchildren were visiting this pasted weekend and, unfortunately, broke one of the blinds. I call Caligari's thinking I would have to purchase a new blind but they informed me that it might be able to be repaired. I scheduled a service call and it was Ryan who came again; I was so glad. He was able to fix the blind right away! For just the cost of a service call the blind is working again! He let me know that he isn't always able to fix blinds on site sometime they need to be sent out for repair, but if he can fix them, he does. So nice! What was worse, he refused to put on a mask, claiming he had asthma and couldn't breathe in one. Only when I phoned the store, did he put one on and even then he was rude about it. I spoke to someone at the store who said that only Kaitlyn could deal with this and they would contact her right away. But no one called me back. Atrocious customer service, and you're paying top dollar for the carpeting to boot.

I spent that time talking with Aaron about painting my cabinets. We discussed color saturation and the way it absorbs and reflects light. I showed him pictures of my cabinets and discussed the prep work I had done so far and how painful and time consuming this has been. I am fairly skilled at painting but I have never done cabinets before and I have this picture in my mind of how I want them to look. I have researched this over and over. He advised me on product and the differences in primer types and application. He helped me choose just the right shade of wall paint. He had re-done his own cabinets and I got the benefits of his experience. We also ended up talking about my kids, his girlfriend, a project he is working on right now. The owner jumped in too when he wasn't waiting on other customers. I did not feel rushed or bad that I was taking up too much time. The owner carried my box of paint to my car for me and I didn't even ask him too! The bottom line in all of this is we need to support small business. You can see Home Depot and Lowes from the parking lot but I can guarantee that you will never get the level of service I got. I left with more than product. I felt relaxed, informed and appreciated. If you have the need for paint, stop in but don't plan to run in and out if you don't have to.

But to my surprise I see they also offer flooring, blinds (Hunter Douglas & Grabber brands) and help with installation. I primarily went into the store to get one-on-one help choosing paints for my walls. The gentleman helping me (Rick) asked a lot of questions but it was to help narrow down the immense number of paint colors available. Their paint pallet samples are fully stocked for you to take home. They welcome you back if you are not satisfied with your first, second or THIRD choice of colors. Once again I stress this is a design store, not a big box store. And as a bonus, the store is immaculate, clean and tidy. Thank you
