We called a few electricians and MercaWood were the only ones to pick up the phone (it was only 4pm). They came the next day and fixed the problem incredibly quickly and we're able to explain what went wrong in a way I could understand. They fixed a potential fire hazard Next time I'll remember not to try and cut corners by letting a non-licensed electrician do the wiring. I'll definitely be calling MercaWood the next time I need any wiring done or something goes wrong. A bonus is the owner is a great guy. He started this business to provide for his family and now he has a team of electricians. Not only does he pay them well, but he provides them 401k and healthcare, which is expensive and something most electrical companies don't provide their employees. Kitchen Sink became completely clogged early Saturday Morning (11/29/2025) Tried the usual cures…read morebut to no avail. Called Byron Parker Sunday Evening and left a message telling my problem and requesting assistance. Monday morning (12/1/2025) I received a call from Rebecca who told me a man was available that morning. The man was at my door in under 20 minutes. Unfortunately, I didn't catch his name but he immediately went to work on the drain system. Opening the clean out plug and using a snake he had the drain operating properly in no time. He performed some checks on the remainder of the system and noticed that the sink basket was very loose. He took it apart and using new putty reassembled it so that it no longer leaked. I was very impressed with the service provided by Byron Parker and its employees. Having worked in the plumbing department for many years in one of the Big Box stores, I recognized the skill of the man and the thoroughness of his actions. We live in a world that's increasingly dominated by giant corporations. They succeed because they…read moreare everywhere, they often make it easy to shop with them, and because they can often undercut the smaller local spots when it comes to prices. I made the mistake of ordering a gas range from one of these giant corporations, and it turned out to be a giant problem. They delivered but couldn't handle the installation, and then they couldn't take the stove with them, and then the guys who came to pick it up were rude and caused more issues, etc. So I did what I should've done, and I called Earl B. Feiden, and they helped me out, and solved my problem. I got to talk to an actual person (thanks Ken!), and I laid out what I needed (a gas range in a non-standard size), and where the potential problem might arise (it needed to be converted to propane), and they handled it like pros. Sometimes it may cost you a little more time and a tiny bit more hassle (if you consider talking to an actual person a hassle, not a pleasure like I do) to go with the smaller shop, but I highly recommend buying local. It worked out for me with Earl B. Feiden. And in the end, the range I got ended up being cheaper than the one from the big box store anyway.
