I made my appointment for June 10, 2024. I met the owner and went through the issues with my 1957 Ford Thunderbird. Later in the afternoon, I received photos with all the issues and was quoted my price. Glenn, my mechanic, found several other issues once he started working on the car. Apparently, my previous mechanics reversed something in the rocker arms assembly, and no oil was getting pumped to my rocker arms. Parts were ordered. Once the rocker arm assembly was received and inspected, Glenn noticed one of the rocker arms assembly was faulty and ordered a replacement. Several days later, the replacement parts arrived, and my T-Bird was reassembled and back on the road. The car is running great. I am very happy with every aspect of my experience with this garage. The shop is very clean and the mechanics are very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. I would highly recommend Ed Martin Garage to everyone who owns classic vehicles. They are now my go-to garage for my T-Bird.

This is the check they gave me for not doing good business

I had a terrible experience with these guys. The problem is, these mechanics assume that people are ignorant about cars, I'm no professional but I do have a lot of knowledge working on cars and I know the basics. But any way, the first sign I knew I was going to be ripped off was no estimate, I asked Mike and another older Caucasian male with long gray hair on 2 different occasions, how much would it cost to install a starter, they both started talking in circles and never estimated a price, what they did tell me was how much they charge for labor, which was like $168 per hour, I thought cool, with my knowledge of cars, I figured it shouldn't take more than an hour, give or take a few minutes, so I brought my vehicle to them. Next sign was a few days later, Mike sent me about 5 pictures of other things that were wrong with my car, I explained to him, just do what I asked u to do. A few days after that he calls me and says my neutral safety switch is bad, I ask him how much will it cost to fix it, he told me he'll call me back with the info. A few days after that, I call him to see what's going on, he tells me he fixed the neutral safety switch and he's charging $250, I then told Mike you were suppose to call me back with a price before you did that, he then starts fast talking and says he'll wave the fee, cool... A few more days go by he contacts me and say my battery, starter, and wires are bad and gave me a ridiculous price to replace them, I said no since my battery and starter have warranties, so I came to the shop took my old starter and battery and exchanged them for new ones, and I also bought brand new+ and - wires, battery cables, he told me he wouldn't charge me for removing these parts as if he was doing me a favor, so since I provided everything I needed him to install, I assumed that I would only be paying for labor and it shouldn't take more than 2 hours based of my experience with cars. After me being without a vehicle for 6 weeks now, they finally tell me they're done but I might have to tow it home, I asked why? Mike says your fuel lines may be clogged which was not a problem before. Since I work, when I came to retrieve my car the shop was closed and my hood and doors were open, I locked my and left because it wouldn't start. The next dayI confronted Mike about that, his response was, we leave all the cars open which was a lie... At this point I just wanted to get my car and pay, when I came into the shop to pay he had $1989 written on a receipt with my vehicles info on it, he brought up the other problems with my car and I told him don't worry about it and let me pay for the services, he then handed me a separate piece of paper that had $650 as the estimate/price he was charging, this was the first and only time I saw an estimate, I was upset but I kept my cool and paid and later that night had to tow my car home, when I should've been able to drive it home... About 3 days later I changed my suspiciously clogged fuel lines, and the starter was malfunctioning again which means it wasn't installed correctly and I paid for absolutely nothing...... So next I contacted the bureau of automotive repair, I explained everything that I've just explained right now, after some time their representative made a visit to the shop and that same day was able to get me $400 back due to negligence on their part, since they did install my starter I thought that was fair, I had no solid evidence for my fuel lines being clogged but I know they did it..... If anyone has had this experience with this shop, I encourage you to contact the Bureau of Automotive Repair, even though I work, I have a strict budget and I don't have money to just to give people, I was overcharged and disrespected as if I have no knowledge of cars, I noticed their specialty is older cars which made me decide to to go with them, big mistake, they're crooks who take advantage of hard working people who contribute to society positively, I was planning to have them do other repairs if things would've went well but now I wouldn't recommend then to anyone

Took my 72 Camaro to Ed Martin Garage because I had some hesitation upon acceleration and could not figure it out. I try to do everything myself but I was stumped. Turns out the intake manifold had a leak. Mike got back to me quickly and the issue was resolved in a couple days. Excellent service. This garage is a professional operation. The Camaro runs so strong now and I am very happy. It's hard to find good mechanics to work on older cars. These guys are special. The owner Omar is an honest guy and very knowledgeable and helpful. I know a lot of people with old classic cars and I will be recommending Ed Martin Garage to them. The wait is worth it. Don't waste your time with other half ass mechanics.

My 1963 Galaxie 500 needed a transmission rebuild, carburetor rebuild, new fuel pump, new fuel line to the carb, new shackle and bushings. What a great job they did. Their shop is very well run and they are quite good at what they do. I even went back and had my bumpers removed for chroming and they recommended paint and upholstery for me. Very good! Thanks Mike and Willy! Tell them Stan sent you!

From the moment I explained what happened with my vehicle, they listened patiently, took the time to understand the situation, and walked me through exactly what needed to be done. They replaced the water pump and thermostat, kept me updated throughout the process, and even looked into the battery concern with complete transparency -- no upselling, no pressure, just honest advice. The car drives beautifully now -- smooth, strong, and better than it has in a long time. What stood out most is their integrity and personal attention during a time when I was already dealing with a lot. If you're looking for a mechanic shop you can actually trust -- one that treats your car like their own and gives you straight answers -- Ace Auto is the place. *Not to mention incredibly reasonable quotes/prices. Trust this mechanic, I don't say that flippantly or without fantastic reason, which I'll share: I called to ask if I could bring her the used car I was considering buying from a local used car dealership to give the car an independent inspection. I simply said what I was hoping for, an independent inspection from a local mechanic (I live in Los Angeles & traveled out to Norco to look at this car), that I was looking for a used Japanese or Korean car, & my price range. As soon as I shared the name of the dealership (I didn't say anything about my experience or concerns with them, just the name), Kenni said she won't even do business with them, as they sold a used Mustang to her son whose clutch he asked them to fix, because he could tell it needed repair, they refused, and it went out about 800 miles after the warranty he purchased with this used car dealership expired, the clutch then costing $1000 to repair. Kerri also VOLUNTARILY gave me pointers for used cars, sharing that CVT's (Constant Velocity Transmissions, commonly known as Continuously Variable Transmissions) are not as reliable as other transmissions, which helped me narrow my search in cars in my budget. She also shared other GEMS of cars with recalls on engines, and how great she's found CLK 500 Mercedes cars to be. She has 38 years of experience. I passionately recommend for a trusted, capable, fair mechanic in the Norco, Corona area!!! She is my personal car buying angel of mercy.

I was at the Greek place on Merrill, and when I was in the drive-through, I saw the suspension place across the street, so I thought I'd step in for some quick questions. Everybody was super cool, and even though they were busy, the guy mentioned they'ld do a free front end diagnosis to determine my brake condition. He said sometimes that means you do need new rotors. They were pretty busy, but I only had to wait about 15 minutes until they got a bay open. Turns out it wasn't my brakes at all, I had a bad strut on one side. During the evaluation, they mentioned they are also specialists in Lexus rear airbag suspension. Luckily, my rear suspension was fine and I only had that single bad strut. I decided to get both taken care of as well as the alignment for the front and rear. They also gave me a 10% discount on the alignment work because I had a major repair. I took an Uber home, because they said they might not have the job completed the same day. But they got parts delivered early, and my car was done before 5:00. After explaining to them both what had happened Carlos told me that they can definitely get it done. He was up front with me by saying at the moment all their lifts were in use and it would be a couple days before they were able to get to it, and to me that was fine. After a few days, Carlos called me letting me know that they had it on the lift, seen the damage, and had a better idea to what it would take to get everything replaced correctly. I truly appreciated the fact that he just didn't call me to give details of what was broken but offered video and pictures of what was damaged, gave me different part options, cost comparisons, and how long it would take. When I went to pick up my car Miguel went over all the paperwork, what was done, parts, and warranty that was offered. First, I went to your establishment for a re-gearing to 4:88 front and rear axles and an Eaton TruTrak to replace the OEM rear locker. After waiting at your shop for 8 hours, My vehicle was delivered to me with an error code "service 4wd". When I went back in and inquired about it, YOU'RE staff told me, "drive it for a while it will go away". That issue never resolved. I called PWG to schedule a fix appointment. At that appointment your tech put a solenoid to correct the "service 4wd" lamp and a requested rear diff cover. Why that solenoid wasn't done initially, I don't understand? I live in Palm Springs and for me to come to your shop because of your tech not performing installation correctly is a costly inconvenience to me! While getting an oil change at my regular mechanic, that's when he brought to my attention about your tech damaging my steering stabilizer, fluid actively leaking from rigs front drivers side axle and the transfer case. ALL areas your tech had to perform work on in order to do the re-gearing, and that were NOT leaking or damaged before your techs working on my vehicle. I tried to contact you on many occasions, to no avail. Finally, when I did talk to you about this, and said if it doesn't get fixed I will go to BAR for filing a claim, to which your response was, "go ahead"! Is this how a rightfully dissatisfied customer is treated at PWG? Currently I still have a rig that I can't even get into 4L. Those are the facts! Thanks.
