First off, I called to schedule a diagnostic and was sent all these flyers with amounts on them for their services. Only to layer be told they were outdated and from last year. Then negotiated that if I left a review before getting the work done I would get the amount on the flyers. Not only that, he was aggressive in getting me to have my oil pan checked out for a diagnostic fee of $1500!! Then to get the valve cover tested to see if it needed to get repaired...another diagnostic fee Lol get out of here. I dont understand how this unprofessional shop is even in business! They attempted to charge me $3,149 for LABOR ONLY to swap my rear differential in my 2022 BMW 530i For context, this is a 4-6 hour job. MB Motor Works then told me "we can work with you on the price, WE ARE USED TO CHARGING CUSTOMER DEALERSHIP PRICING, and many just pay it. But we can work with you" he said this over the phone and in person. Which is admitting that they attempt rip off their customers first. they charged me $250 for a " diagnostic fee" that I was not made aware of until the car was towed to their shop, when all he did was put it on a lift to check the car. This shop has been by far the worst experience i have ever experienced at a mechanic shop . not only did Ron make this experience difficult by delaying work in my car due to other "quick jobs " coming in after my car purposely prioritizing faster jobs to make money rather then working on the cars in order they were brought in my car sat for at least 2 weeks before even getting looked at . If you care about ur BMW or other German import auto as I do mine, then it is imperative to have it serviced and maintained by someone who cares for it in the same fashion and Ron at MB Motorworks is that technician. While replacing the battery for my 2013 BMW 128i at a local dealership, a leaking oil filter housing gasket was discovered and a healthy quote of $1,300+ quickly followed. Not wanting my car serviced at this location, [[HIGHLIGHT]]I immediately contacted the BMW dealership I've trusted for repairs on my beloved car in the past. After a few days of stressing, waiting and not hearing back from "my guy" at dealership, I contacted MB Motorworks for a simple quart of oil.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I let Ron know details of my gasket woes and how I was worried about needing to make a lengthy commute with the failing gasket. He offered a quick visual inspection and assured he could let me know the severity of the leak. I pulled into garage and was instantly impressed by the organization and cleanliness of his workspace which is always a great first sign. I open the hood and without a second of hesitation Ron let me know how bad the leak was, about how long it seemed to be leaking, and how much longer I could safely drive the car without causing major damage. 1 star is too many. Worst experience I've ever had. called and spoke with Richard R. Salcido, the owner. I told him that my turbocharger went out on my 328i BMW. I mentioned that I had found the part and asked how much he charged. He gave me a final out-the-door cost of $1,500 if I purchased the parts; he said payment would need to be cash or Zelle. I said, "Isn't Zelle the same as cash?" He said yes, and I responded, "I will pay you via Zelle when I pick up my vehicle." Richard said, "Ok, that's fine, your car will be ready Friday, 7/26/24, or Monday, 7/29/24." We brought him all of the parts, including a complete turbocharger purchased from and inspected by Napa Auto Parts. Richard checked the parts upon arrival at his repair shop in front of my husband. There were no issues. Three days later, Richard contacted me, stating that he needed additional parts: oil and coolant lines, turbocharger manifold nuts, oil, and coolant. He later called and said he needed a gasket that would cost about $5. All items were purchased and delivered to him. Hours later that day, Richard, the owner, sent me a picture of an old part, not the part delivered to him, and claimed that we delivered a damaged part and now we need to pay an additional $150. I responded, "That is not the part we brought you." Richard began to be very disrespectful, rude, and unprofessional. I told him that I would pick up the part to take it back to Napa; he repeatedly refused, stating that he fixed it and it was already installed in my car. Within the same hour, he claimed he had not installed it. One day later, on Saturday, July 27, 2024, Richard sent me another email request stating that an additional piece was missing that could only be purchased from the dealership. The total cost was $45.62. I asked him to pick it up, and I would pay for it; I was at a conference for work. He began harassing me while I was at work, demanding that I call him. When I could not because I was working, he sent me an email saying, "Cash only! If you do not pick up your car, I will start charging you an $85/day storage fee." This was after he stated on Thursday that my car would be ready Friday or Monday. I contacted Richard on Friday around 6 pm. to check on my car, and he stated that my car was not ready. On Sunday, July 28, 2024, when I returned from my conference, I spoke with Richard. He stated my car was ready and I needed to bring $1,545.62 now. He continued, stating that if I didn't, he would charge an $85/day storage fee. I explained that the bank is not open on Sundays, but I could Zelle him the full amount as originally agreed and pick up my car on Sunday. Richard replied, "No, I want cash only, if you don't have it bring it Monday, if you don't bring it, I'm charging you $85/day storage staring after 12pm. On Monday, I went to Richard's shop during my lunch, thinking I could pay him quick and pick up my car. Richard then refused to release my car to me even when I brought cash as he requested. He kept my car locked up in his garage, and when I requested a receipt for the part he picked up for me, he stated he would not provide receipts for parts he purchased although I reimbursed him. My husband and I were completely shocked at how we had been treated by Richard. He switched the new part that we brought him with an old damaged part. As soon as he finally released our vehicle; we drove it to BMW to conduct a full diagnostic to make sure that he had not done anything else to our vehicle. Okay so, I don't know if Ricardo is still here but according to a review from 5 months ago he still is, so I don't know much about the integrity of the other workers at this establishment but I'd like to give an update to my experience from several years ago. I started experiencing similar engine issues today, and I went back to my regular mechanic this time who told me that the coil that Ricardo replaced for me last time was obviously not the authentic parts that he CLAIMED they were, and that they would need to be replaced yet again. I vividly remember Ricardo boasted to me about how he was best friends with some BMW dealership and could score great deals on authentic parts (and overcharging me). Previously I was living in Riverside and didn't want to make the drive out so I chose Mission Bell (Big mistake, see previous review). I overheated on the 60 and was able to get my car towed to this shop that specializes in BMWs. He allowed me to decline diagnostics and just do the repair I knew I needed. As requested, he replaced my waterpump and thermostat on my 2006 BMW 330i e90 for waaaay less than the dealer would charge while still using quality parts. 5 stars aren't enough.  I finally met someone as picky as me and THAT is a good thing.  I brought my Porsche Boxster S to Robert because the dealers are crooks. He did an outstanding job.  Kept my car as clean as it was when I brought it to him.  He replaced the water pump, Thermostat,  drive belt and axel boots.  There was a time line issue because porsche didn't have the parts so he had to go to different cities to get them ABOVE AND BEYOND.  I'm glad to have my baby back in my garage and not on a rack for repair.  He did a BETTER JOB than they would've done at porsche.  I'll be back. Just hoping it's not soon because these repairs were expensive.  He even gave me a ride home and picked me up when my car was ready.  Now THAT is great customer service.  This guy is worth his weight in gold.  Definitely and highly recommend him for Porsche autos. Today, my fiancé Ronnie Etheridge was ripped off by $1,000 by Robert - the mechanic at Mission Bell Motorworks in Riverside Ca as of today, August 15th, 2023. Robert ripped him off and had my fiancé Zelle him personally $1,000 to his personal account to fix a brake booster. Next thing Robert calls Ronnie back and informs him that the brake booster is fine - it's the vacuum pump needs to be changed which he said would be an additional $600. He never asked to diagnose my car! If Robert knew the booster was fine he should have called Ronnie and told him it's not the brake booster but the vacuum pump. Then when I told him he is conducting unethical business and wouldn't refund me $500 of the $1000 - Robert hung the phone up on me. In addition to this bad Yelp Report, I've made a report to The police, The Better Business Bureau - the Chamber of Commerce and RIP OFF REPORT.
