Located on 6th street, this shop is your one stop shop for all things Idaho, handmade and incredibly special. You can find blown glass, textiles, soaps, lotions, chocolate, peanuts, ornaments, shave oils, cutting boards, games, mugs, vases, ornaments and so much more. Most of my favorite makers were there (think Ladybug Press, Sawtooth Glass Project, City Peanut Shop, All Spun Up, Sage Woolens, etc.) It felt like a holiday craft bazaar that is open year round and housing the very best products. I found the selection to be varied and affordable. You could find things for men, women, children, pets and even yourself! It bears repeating that you are paying for handcrafted, small-business wares. It is not going to have the same price tag as a manufactured good from a big box store. It will be a higher price tag. I like to think that I'm paying for a story. My purchased items contain all the love, hope, and hard work that each maker poured into their product. The two that worked the counter are adventure athletes themselves. The guy I spoke to is an avid long distance mountain trail runner. He was not just knowledgeable about the Stio gear but also How to use the gear. By comparison, I stopped by the Arcteryx company store in SoCal. Sadly, the Canadian brand appears to have ventured far from the their rugged roots. The store felt elitist and pretentious. Stio is the opposite. Same quality without the stuffy atmosphere. Stio is the Anti-Arcteryx brand you want.

Now 4 months later it has turned into a nice red stain on the sidewalk. There is always dog poop smeared all over the sidewalk. Probably from people not picking up after their pets, then it gets stepped in and tracked everywhere. Lastly, there is usually a plethora of trash in their planters. Old masks, bottles, cigarettes, etc... I let the employees know about the vomit right away and a month ago I sent a note to their customer service but obviously they don't care what the outside of their store looks like. I cannot vouch for their products. They seem nice. But for a store that sells jackets for $700, I would think keeping the outside of the store as nice as the inside would be a priority. I guess not.

A phone call later and the guys at the shop quickly overrode the 10-minute buffer the system puts in between appointments so my boys could go back to back. It's a spacious, clean shop, with barber services on one side and clothes shopping on the other. My sons liked sitting on a skateboard as a booster seat. Ryan was great... making sure the boys had a chance to tell him what they wanted but still checked with mom, knowing she's the final approver. Both cuts turned out fantastic and we plan to return!

I normally buy only premium ice cream made with the best ingredients, with a high butter fat content and little to no air added. For that reason, I am a bit of a hard sell when it comes to grocery store ice cream. Intrigued by this particular flavor, I checked out the list of ingredients and bought it, as well as 5 other pints of PS, all of which were on sale for $1.88. It normally sells for $2.99 a pint. It is also available in half quart sizes, which normally sells for $5.99 per currently on sale for $4.49. I have only tried this flavor so far but far exceeded my expectations. I would go so far as to say that it is hands-down, the best grocery store brand ice cream that I have purchased. For example, last summer I tried several flavors of Albertson's Signature Reserve ultra premium ice cream. While the flavors were intriguing, the ice cream itself was disappointing. PS's Belgian Chocolate Irish Cream Ice cream looks exactly like the picture. There are big chunks of cookie mixed into it. The ice cream itself has great flavor and is very smooth and creamy. This is one of the best new chocolate flavors I have tasted in years. One of the things I really like about this ice cream is that you are actually buying a pint. Years ago, Häagen-Dazs raised the bottom of their pints instead of raising their prices, which I would have preferred. It's called truth in advertising. Even at $2.99 a pint, this ice cream is worth every penny. * I purchased this ice cream a couple of months ago. I look forward every time I go in but it must be one of the most popular flavors because it's always gone. Next time I find it, I am buying several pints. Highly Recommended!!!
