    Cheese curds
    Katie J.

My friend and I were driving through Wisconsin, so we knew we had to stop and get some cheese curds! We googled the best place to go, and Eddie Whip's came up in the top 5. It did not disappoint! It's kind of in the middle of nowhere and we had to go out of our way some, but I'm glad we stopped. The restaurant is a little dated, but it's actually pretty large. We got there slightly before they start serving food on Friday's but they got a fresh batch of cheese curds going for us anyway! The bar tender was really friendly and soon a lot of older couples started filtering in for their own type of happy hour. Very friendly place, and the cheese curds were worth it (they had a slight crust which was perfect)!

Fantastic service and great homemade food. Really have an enjoyable experience whenever I'm there. The breasted chicken is superb, and a favorite. Also enjoy a Brandy old fashioned from the bar before dinner. Added treat is the selection of vintage arcade games

After our visit to our lady of good help shrine we were very hungry so we looked at Groupon & Yelp…read moreto see what we could find. Our Lady of Good Help Shrine is located in the middle of nowhere, in a field far from anything. We found a Groupon for 4 people - $40 for $22 at a place called Rendezvous. After mapping the location we proceeded to drive from Our Lady of Good Help Shrine to a location in the middle of nowhere 9.2 miles away on a country road intersection. The Rendezvous is a combination restaurant/bar/bowling alley down by 2 county roads. When we walked in we had to go down about 4 or 5 steps into a very dated establishment. There were a number of people sitting at the bar having drinks and watching college games on tv. The bowling alley was empty when we got there. We asked the bartender if we could grab a seat and she said sit anywhere. The dining room looked like the basement of a old 60's condo that I use to live in. There were folding tables and chairs set up so the 4 of us grabbed a table. The waiter came with 4 menus and gave us a brief rundown on some of the items. He was a young guy that was very pleasant & was willing to put up with questions from the Illinois city folk. Overall the service was good, a little slow, but good They have a variety of items for dinners and were reasonably priced. I orders the family style broasted chicken (as much as you want) which was very good that came with way too many sides. The sides included mashed potatoes (ehh made from a powered mix), coleslaw (which was very good, seasoned well with fresh ingredients), stuffing (ehh not worth mentioning), gravy (kind of a grey color and way too much cornstarch), corn (not too bad) & sauerkraut (ehh I could have done with out it) & desert (cherry cheesecake, brownies, pumpkin cake& homemade kit Kat cake). Did I mention I tried all of them? The broasted chicken was delicious and by far the best item in the family style meal for $8.95 all inclusive. My wife's friend ordered the 4 piece broasted chicken dinner. Her husband and my wife ordered the short ribs which were pretty blahhhh It was an ok meal (broasted chicken was pretty good I would give this a solid 4+ stars) for a reasonable price, huge quantities and good service. The short ribs were probably not even a 2 star. I doubt if I will ever be out there again in the middle of Packer country, but hey if you don't try it you never know what you are missing.

We took out a four-person catamaran, and glided through the gentle bay. I was a little nervous at first because water activities aren't really my thing, but they make everyone wear a life vest and explain everything beforehand. Once I was out on the water, I felt perfectly safe and it was a fun experience. Pro tip: You will get wet while sailing! I don't know what I was thinking and wore long linen pants, and they were drenched by the end of my excursion. I suggest wearing shorts or bringing a waterproof poncho. Also: There are no proper restroom facilities, just a port-a-potty, so keep that in mind when planning your day. Everyone at Green Bay Sail & Paddle were extremely kind and patient. Sailing on a catamaran was a fun way to see a different side of Green Bay!

    - The contracts are inaccurate and meaningless. Does not go with anything you agree on. Always read…read morethe contract before signing! (My mistake for trusting this horrible place) - Talked multiple times about beverages and prices, etc but was never informed that I had to pay for drinking tap water until two weeks before my wedding ($3 a pitcher or $5 unlimited refills only during dinner for tap water) or $1.50 per bottled water - When I was first informed of the water issue, me and 3 other people that were there, heard her quote me $1.25 per water bottle. Later on she said it was $1.50 but NO WHERE was water listed as $1.50 or that water was even a charge! Not on the website, wedding packet, menu, contract etc. but yet they state they have been selling it for 15 years at $1.50. - Bartenders and owner drinking beer from the kegs I bought. - Found out from my guests that the min to close out a card at the bar was $30 but the guests were not aware or informed so when they cashed out for less than $30, they were charged up to $30 without being informed, the guest had to ask why the bill was over charged! I wonder how many of my guests they did this to that weren't paying attention. - Trash was never taken out when it was their responsibility. My own guests had to take out the garbage bc they were over flowing all night. - Dance floor was not cleared for us and when asked why, the owner said we wanted it cleared 30 mins earlier than what we talked about and that security did the clearing but was not there yet. Therefore my own guests had to clear and clean the dance floor. (Event and timelines change. Rarely do they run exactly on time, a professional venue should be prepared for this or at least try to help.) -Was informed I had to pay for security but not informed I had to pay for at least 3 at $18 per hour until the day before the wedding. - My wedding coordinator invited all the staff to have some food and one of the bartenders picked food with her bare fingers putting the food back and reselecting! If she is unsanitary with our food in front of my parents who cooked the food and myself, what else is she unsanitary with? - I informed Janet that my party will end around 12am. So I told my DJ to pick up the equipment after 12 and he stated they have another DJ booth at The Woods (less than 10 mins away from Humboldt Haus) that was done at 12 and that they will pick up the equipment right after and should only take 10-15 mins. At 12 before leaving, I mentioned to Janet that we were leaving but the DJ will be there soon to pick up their equipment and her response was "no they're not" and then the staff literally laughed at me. I asked why and Janet said bc the doors will be locked at 12:30. The contract says I have the building until 1:30! We argued about this for a good 20 mins and the DJ came during the argument and grabbed their stuff and was out before 12:30! The point was she was so unwilling to listen or even work with me nor did she follow the contract! When asked to pull the contract by the remaining guests, she refused to pull it out. - The next day when we went back to grab our stuff, she refused to give us garbage bags! We had to argue with her before she gave us 2 garbage bags! - Was extremely rude to us bc my family accidentally took two of her Chaffer trays that had food we ordered from the venue but we contacted my family right away and the trays were brought back within the next hour. (We had 12 chaffer trays and she had 2) Yet, she treated us like thieves. This could have been prevented if she was more involved in clearing the dance floor which was their responsibility. Although I provided majority of my own food for the wedding, I did spend $3,500 on this venue and Janet, the owner, did NOT do one thing to make my wedding day easier. They did not do anything on my wedding day besides sit behind the bar and collect money from my guests (miss charging them), drinking beer from my kegs and forgetting they had responsibilities . My whole family ran, cleaned and cleared everything. Janet has been unprofessional since day one, not calling and following up with me when I agreed on her timeline. Humboldt Haus has no morals, values and ethics. They steal your money any way and chance they get. No place for a wedding or anything family oriented should be held at. Her response to all this was, " what other place allows you to start decorating on Thursday?" I would rather spend thousands more at a place where I have to set up the morning of, than deal with the horrible unethical, unprofessional service that the owner of Humboldt Haus gave.

The up-lighting that came with our package really transformed our space as well and made a great party atmosphere. We had many different ages and genres for our music, and even so we had people on the dance floor all night. A special moment for us was when Dan handed my husband a microphone and then he serenaded me with "Lucky" by Britney Spears. This business makes there own Beer, wine and alcohol products where the diversity of what they make is kind of amazing considering the footprint/size of their facility. Relative to the tastings, these are free of charge where customers are encouraged to tip instead to show their appreciation for what they have been served. Duriing our trip here we tasted numerous spirits to include their house made gin, rum, vodka, Brandy, Bourbon and various flavored moonshines. I thought the liquors with the exception of the Moonshines were just OK but the moonshines were surprisingly quite good. These 60 proof drinks come across like a liquor based on the alcohol by volume content with a similar creamy texture. The flavor profiles are quite unique to anything I have ever tasted before where their flavors include Grandma's Apple Pie, Salted Caramel, Orange Slice and Lemon Drop shine to name just some of them. Every Moonshine bottle we tasted was so tasty where I was really enamored with all of them and at the end of the day ended up buying the Lemon Drop and salted Caramel although it was hard to stop at just these two. Relative to the facility it has a non descript outer view where the inside comes across more of a typical bar venue more so than a winery/distillery which is a bit deceiving in my mind considering how much product they make here. No stacked wine barrels or a sneak peak of the Distillery or Barrel rooms to reinforce what this business is and add the cute ambiance you get at many of the wineries I visit. Relative to Staff, They were exceptionally friendly and good on the repours for our free tasting which definately added a lot to our tasting event. Overall a very pleasant time was had by our group where I see myself returning again in the future and sampling their other ware's and probably buying more moonshine!
