I moved to Phillips from Green Bay 5 years ago. Every time I'm back in town for work, this is the only place I go for lunch and I get the same thing every time because why mess with perfection? When I tell you the Basque Country Salad is the best salad I believe I'll ever eat in my lifetime, I'm not exaggerating. Their white whine vinaigrette could be bottled and sold for millions. If you like chicken, prosciutto, walnuts, figs and goat cheese, this salad will make you shed tears of joy. Everyone is SO NICE there! Even when we cater in a smattering of sandwiches, pasta salads and dessert bars everyone raves about how fresh and delicious everything is. Top notch quality across the board. read more

Soooooo disappointed! New to the area and had many recommendations to come here! I walked in, no one greeted me. Two people at the counter, one helping an elderly man order things in bulk and another girl shuffling and looking at papers. I paced around a bit. Still nothing. I grabbed a load of the pizza bread. Stood in line and still NOTHING. I put the bread back and walked out. Never got a hello. Never we will be with you in a moment. Nothing. YUM! I looked at the menu online and it looked delightful. Quite a selection of sandwiches, hot and cold. Also other things. It is clean and bright, and the workers are so friendly. I got the special of the day which was cranberry egg salad sandwich, and cranberry bread. It was so tasty. I had a choice of sides with it. Potato chips, apple or veggies and dip. I chose veggies and dip because that is not offered very often. The veggies were wonderful and the dip was even more wonderful. When I'm up in Green Bay again I definitely will stop by. read more

The food was ok as in it was filling. Tomato soup tasted like it came from a can. Not much tuna on the sandwich but it was good and tasted fresh. Chicken salad boring but for the cranberries. All the prepared food in the cooler is loaded with bad stuff. I just wanted a healthy, clean soup and sandwich. The biggest issue was with the service. It was 2:30 in the afternoon and no one else there. Cashier looked pissed off and like she didn't want to be there. No smile. No greeting. We ordered and she listed off options like she was in some kind of verbal race. When we repeated the options for clarity, she just said ok to whatever we said. Never said thank you. We didn't even realize until we left that she never even asked if we wanted something to drink. Will not return. GB deserves better. read more

My review is based on a quick takeout of Grab 'n Go bakery items as an out of towner. A local friend took us there. Pros: Friendly service Nice atmosphere Grab n Gos (similar to sausage kolache ) were great. One really filled me up the whole morning. Walked here for lunch from my hotel just across the road. Checked in along with my family for some free, beautiful shortbread cookies and the person working the cash register was super nice. The restaurant interior is super pleasant. We ordered: - ham and cheese sandwich: Awesome flavor combo with apples. Definitely a top sandwich type here since others recommend it as well. Would order this one again! - chicken portabella sandwich: The chicken was prepared well but lacked seasoning/salt, similar to the portabella. Unfortunately, the aioli flavor was not super present as that would have helped. the focaccia bread was the star of the sandwich. Overall, I felt very healthy consuming this sandwich but would order a different type next time. - spicy Italian sandwich: father reported this as not spicy, but still a good classic Italian. The folks here are really nice and helpful. I got some food to take away: sausage-stuffed bread and broccoli Swiss soup which we ate later for dinner, and a beef & blue sandwich and a ham, apple, Gouda sandwich for our lunch. They serve the customers quickly and the staff behind the counter were very friendly and out- going the day I was there. I recently had a business lunch with a colleague. Orders are placed at the counter and although it states on the menu that drinks are in a cooler- you actually order them at the counter. It was a busy time of day- outdoor and indoor seating. Should be wheelchair accessible as everything is one level and tables are standard height plus counter service. I can't speak to the restrooms as I did not see them. Everyone was very nice, service with a smile for sure. I had a sugar free vanilla & marshmallow iced coffee- there's an up charge for syrups- but it was nominal. I also had a chocolate chip cookie and a basque salad with chicken. Portions were huge! It's like a typical coffee shop vibe with many options. I'll definitely visit again. read more

Great fresh food Salads sandwiches and more , has one of the best chicken portabello sandwich on the most amazing focaccia bread . So good my husband stole half my sandwich which was ok since the size of the half was more than enough to fill me up. So good I turned back and bought some apricot bread. Would probably be a regular but we live 2 hours away. Tried the apricot bread this morning and it was scrumcious! Not too sweet or tart. I lightly toasted it. The bread is a cross between bread and brioche. Very nice - will be stopping again when in the area If you don't live in the area and are traveling I would highly recommend stopping and taking some sandwiches and the stuffed bread to go - would be great on a hike or for breakfast. My general rule is "never order a wrap," so I'm still not sure what happened the first time I came here. I guess the idea of "cheesy artichoke" overrode my usual rule! The cheesy artichoke wrap is just amazing. It is served hot, and it's all warm and gooey. I wish I could eat it every day, but that's probably not a good idea! I'm not sure it's the healthiest thing I could eat, but it is incredibly delicious. They also have a bakery, and their breads are very delicious. Their signature bread has provolone cheese, pesto, artichoke hearts and sun-dried tomatoes. Unfortunately, the last time we were there, they were out! So we will have to wait until next time. I haven't gotten any of their coffees, because I'm not that into coffee, but they smell really good. (Other people have ordered coffee while I was there!) They have a fairly large, standard, coffee shop menu. It's definitely worth checking out! read more

I was pleasantly surprised by Not By Bread Alone. We tried their side salads, which were small, but good quality, and had a nice vinaigrette dressing. It's nothing special, but it's good all the same. I don't like wraps in general, but the Cheesy Artichoke Wrap is the best wrap that I've ever had anywhere and by a wide margin. The tortilla is very soft, to start with. Everything else comes together in the right proportions in a hot and cheesy creation. We both enjoyed it so much that we ordered a second one! Even the plain Toasted Cheese sandwich is a step up from your average grilled cheese. The bread is what makes it rise above others. Improvements: the menu should state which three vegetables that you can choose for the side salad. In addition, it would be beneficial to designate which items are vegetarian with a "V" or a green leaf next to them, instead of having to ask if the soup is vegetarian and then having the confused cashier search for the recipe and having someone else asking us if we think that chicken stock is vegetarian-- no, it's not. (Or maybe make all your soups with vegetable stock for simplicity.) Both of these suggested improvements would increase transparency, effectiveness and efficiency. In any case, I don't hold these opportunities against NBBA and I recommend them highly, and I look forward to returning the next time that I'm in Green Bay. read more

This is a wonderful coffee/breakfast/sandwich spot. This could easily be one of Green Bay's prized foodie paradise! As it was my first time here, I played it safe and ordered grilled ham and cheese (not crazy about cold cuts) and my hubby opted for the grilled chicken sandwich. The ham and cheese was absolutely yummy! But when I took a bite of that grilled chicken sandwich, I was hooked. Not impressed. Not. At. All. This stop off for lunch was a last minute decision based on Yelp reviews. The store front is quaint. Nice counter with delicious looking cookies and muffins. The menu has nice selections. Reminds me of McAllisters restaurants. Anyway. The full plate options seemed sufficient enough in the amount of food hit the cup of soup and side salad that I ordered was pathetic. The salad is advertised as a side salad with three choices of vegetables. The gal at the counter didn't ask me what three I would like. So I finally asked her. Tomatoes. Onions. Green Pepper. I cannot eat green pepper and asked what other choices I had. They were carrots and cucumber. The salad portion was a handful of greens on the side of the plate that held my cup of soup. On top of the greens were two cherry tomatoes, on slice of cucumber sliced into four pieces. 3 pieces of red onion. They have three dressings. Ranch. French. Oil and Vinegar. Seriously? My soup selection was carrot soup. It came out room temperature. I asked for a reheat. It took twice to get it hot. The soup and salad combo did not come with bread nor crackers. I don't eat much but I left hungry. Sure the food seemed fresh but the portions are not generous. Don't go hungry! read more

What a great place to eat! Thanks to Yelpers who have left fantastic reviews of this place we found a magnificent place to eat lunch. The food here is super delicious! When you start reading the menu and see what they put in these sandwiches you will want one of everything. We settled on the Ham & Cheese and the Tuna Melt The Ham & Cheese comes with Gouda cheese, ham, apple butter, sliced apples, and a hint of grainy mustard on honey wheat toast. Wow!! I could have eaten two of these they were so good. The Tuna Melt was on 5 seed grain bread with tuna salad, Swiss cheese and a tomato. This was also a good sandwich but not over the top like the ham & cheese was. Check in bonus- we each got a free short bread cookie. Very tasty and very buttery. They have lots of choices both hot and cold, the display case has lots of goodies and pasta salads to choose from. There was also a special coffee station in the dining area. The price of the food is perfect, the staff was very helpful and courteous. What a great find, and if in the area, we will definitely be stopping in for a meal or two. read more

Stopped in at 630 one morning. The place is definitely worth a visit. Tons of assorted breads on the menu. I went with the ham and Swiss breakfast handheld. Think "hot pockets" but homemade with thick ham and good Swiss. This is a local shop that reminds me of a Panera, with sandwiches, pastries, cookies, etc. But these sandwiches were so good! The ham & cheese had great flavor with Gouda, apple butter and apples on it. So fresh. So good. Unconventional, and I love it! So my nephew and I were in GB to check out Lambeau Stadium. Around 3PM, we left and decided to look for a local place for lunch before taking the nearly four hour trip back home. Down the road we went from Lambeau and all we saw were chain restaurants. We arrive at an intersection and I see this place quite aways down. Never heard of it before and figured if it was a chain, at least it would be one I had never tried. Asked if it was.... NOPE - a local spot! Outstanding. And pretty doggone good too! Had a spicy Italian Sandwich which was turkey, pepperoni and some slightly tangy peppers... really good and pretty unique as well. Nephew had a meatloaf sandwich that he really enjoyed. I also ordered some Chicken Chili Soup.... which had a pile of flavor. Three people, around college age working the shop when we were there between lunch and dinner - the place wasn't very busy at all yet all three of them were working hard at transitioning toward dinnertime offerings. Really pleasant and cheerful service too! Kinda bummed they're not near where I live - somewhat unique offerings on their menu, good food, high spirited service. Refreshingly awesome!
