Other than the bacon shenanigans at the meat counter, I also think it's very nice that the ladies at the registers don't judge me when I go in every single morning for one blueberry muffin and a single can of energy drink... when a normal person would just buy a package of muffins and a 6 pack of beverages so they don't have to go to the grocery store daily... we've all got our weird idiosyncrasies and I'm glad to not be judged by the helpful smiles at Hy-Vee Oskaloosa for mine.

We stopped by the grocery store to pick up baking supplies for cornbread, rhubarb jam, and butternut squash. Most products sold in the store are packed in bulk. It is such a wonderful experience to be amongst the Amish. Please be respectful.

Forgot to look at receipt till I got home and saw I was charged. $7.99. Disgraceful. The lunch was good. The employees are very nice and helpful. I feel sorry for customers with carts full of merchandise getting up charged, big time. From now on I'm going to eat lunch occasionally. I'll consider Hyvee as a convenience store to purchase the one item to run in to buy. More expensive but CONVENIENT for the 1-2 items you have to have. Otherwise go to Walmart for regular shopping. BTW is very nice that all your stores offer to Round up the purchase to the nearest dollar to give to charity the change. I suspect the motive is the huge tax write off Hyvee gets with those small contributions thousands that add up! If in the rare event I make a purchase at Hyvee I'll skip the round up. I already do my own charitable giving. It's also interesting how Sale signs are everywhere in sight. But nothing is on sale, really. Across the street Walmart has the same merchandise at a lower price.
