Okey dokey...let's try this! 8 Hearts is conveniently located in the Macadams area in the Water Tower complex. Easy breezy parking and a very nice location. It took a few weeks for my initial appointment but it was worth the wait. I arrived and briefly met Dr. Natasha and then Emily. I completed a in depth questionnaire about my health status and then Emily took me in to her relaxing, comfortable space. Emily took the time to get to know me, which I appreciated. We focused on the most pressing issues, my problematic shoulder specifically. My first acupuncture focused on my shoulder but the insertion of the needles was all over my body. I admit, I was fascinated about how the different pressure points correlated to different body parts. I had done my homework and knew that it would take several visits before I would really know if it was making a difference. Appointment one. I was surprised that the needles really didn't hurt. No biggie. Appointment two? Cupping. Yeah, Google "cupping". It friggin involves fire. Maybe an over reaction...really just a flame. Emily uses it to take the air out of the cup and then applies the cup to whatever body part you're having issues with. I'm not going to lie. It hurt like a mother and creates some dark bruises. But, with that being said, I LOVE IT! During the process, the cups draw up old blood and lymph. If it hurt too much, Emily would lessen the suction. I have been to Eight Hearts six times or so. I am now a believer and look forward to my appointments. I am on a three week schedule now and the time between appointments will continue to grow. I'm a fan. They, and especially Emily, rock.

I'll bring my review up to date. I gave WGA a 5 previously on a 1 to 5 scale; but on that same…read morescale I now have to raise the rating to a 18.5. During one set of visits WGA was instrumental, with a chiropractor, in taking me from using a walker to mobility. I learned during that set of visits that, while a chiropractor focused on 1 joint at a time, acupuncture the subsequent day exposed distant holding patterns, allowing me to mobilize tissues I had been ignoring. Feeling increasingly vigorous a while later, I took a really dynamic fall -- breaking a wrist and tearing the rotator cuff on the same side. Back to WGA after I healed those tissues but was stiff and moving poorly. Acupuncture the day subsequent to PT again exposed holding patterns, and was instrumental in getting upper body function back. A while later remnants of my many previous bodily insults, some quite old, were demonstrating to this octogenarian male that they could reinforce one another through the spine and fascia to limit motion. Recently I've been doing chiro monthly and using WGA after each visit and between visits, undoing many of those intertied insults and finding much improvement. As I jogged across a parking lot back to my car last week, I decided I should leave a review. And this week is better than last in both strength and ease of movement.

The receptionist was very responsive and honest about this and was able to explain it in full detail with tips as well. Chiro: Very good! I've gone to many practices. I only have one other that I love. This place is great for your typical chiropractic needs. They have a good assessment and take their time getting to know you and your body's needs.
