Terrible finished product, at twice the bidded price…read more Upon calling Joe for a bid, he requested the address so he could come out and look at the site before bidding it. (The work site was accessible from the alley so we we didn't need to be home for him to review it). A week later, I texted and asked if he'd been by, and if he had any questions. He sent a bid, which was lower than others and we booked him for the work. On the day of, Joe announced that he was charging us twice as much because he didn't know there was any demo/paver removal involved- which he would know if he'd looked at the site before bidding the project. We were frustrated but agreed because the timing was critical for the next phase of our project. The bid was for 8" deep, with rebar. I came out when he was 1/3 of the way into the pour to discover Joe was pouring 2"-6" deep, with no rebar. When I questioned him, he flatly lied and said it was 8" depth until I offered to get a measuring tape, at which point he admitted it wasn't. He then tried to pour using our uneven pavers as the form. When confronted he noted he'd use an even edge- we afterward discovered he used lumber from our property for framing the pour. There are so many more issues, I wont outline them all. The end result cost twice as much as originally bid, and may need to be jackhammered out so that it can be poured correctly.

Joe and his crew are very nice people and are very skilled replacing the driveway…read more Joe outlined exactly what he was going to do and when he was going to do it. The old driveway was removed on Friday. On Monday the forms and rebar was installed. Then the cement truck arrived and the concrete was spread evenly 6 inches deep. The surface was smoothed out evenly. Then, Coca-Cola was sprayed over the surface which prevented the top layer of cement to harden. Later in the day, Joe returned and washed the top layer of concrete away exposing the aggregate. The finished product looked exactly as Joe said it would.

As my father who has been in the construction industry for 40+ years said: " you hired the right…read moreguys for the job!" Royal Kingdom Masonry are the right people for any concrete project you might have! They were quick to respond, provided a quote and timeline and knew exactly what needed to get done. they suggested worked that I missed to get done and were not pushy about adding scope. They were always thinking about what was best for the house and what would save me headahces and money in the future. The crew was prompt, respectful, and treated my house and family like we were apart of theirs. with Royal Kingdom you get top service, respectful and friendly people, and amazing craftsmanship; they are truly experts in their field! We are very pleased with the project and will only be calling them for future projects and telling all our friends and neighbors to use them.

Royal Kingdom Masonry is an excellent company. They are reliable, prompt, and honest. They tore out…read moreand replaced our cracked patio and driveway, and tore off the front steps and replaced them what can only be described as a beautiful ramp. They decided the ramp would look better widened a bit as it approaches the door with a slightly elevated side on the curved part to lessen the slope, and it is better than we thought of. They even carried the pattern of the ramp out into the driveway which is hard to describe but made the front of the house look like a coherent and attractive whole. The pattern of the back patio was changed by them into one with smaller sections and somehow the patio looks quite a bit bigger and better. At the end we could have chosen exposed aggregate or a smooth surface for the driveway and ramp and they advised exposed aggregate even though it adds three steps to the process that take quite a while and there was no increase in price. The exposed aggregate gives better traction for an accessibility ramp which they wanted to provide. I only wish there were more contractors like Royal Kingdom Masonry. I am lucky enough to have a father-in-law who spent his working life doing this sort of thing and I quietly asked for advice at every step. All the suggestions they made were correct and designed to improve the strength and durability of the final job. They did a thorough cleanup, fixed tricky sprinkler heads they needed to move, and left our house looking twenty years younger. They also gave us a really good price which is important. They are also really nice people to have around your house. I wouldn't think of using another firm.
