The price seemed reasonable, however, the finished product was disappointing. A chunk of my brand new (two month's old) deck was knocked out. It was not mentioned to me and I did not see until the job was finished, he was paid and he left the property. That means I need to find a contractor to replace that board adding to the cost of this project. Also, the stamping on one side of the deck was off kilter - no way to make that right. He's a hard worker but does not seem to pay attention to details. read more

Terrible finished product, at twice the bidded price. Upon calling Joe for a bid, he requested the address so he could come out and look at the site before bidding it. (The work site was accessible from the alley so we we didn't need to be home for him to review it). A week later, I texted and asked if he'd been by, and if he had any questions. He sent a bid, which was lower than others and we booked him for the work. On the day of, Joe announced that he was charging us twice as much because he didn't know there was any demo/paver removal involved- which he would know if he'd looked at the site before bidding the project. We were frustrated but agreed because the timing was critical for the next phase of our project. The bid was for 8" deep, with rebar. I came out when he was 1/3 of the way into the pour to discover Joe was pouring 2"-6" deep, with no rebar. When I questioned him, he flatly lied and said it was 8" depth until I offered to get a measuring tape, at which point he admitted it wasn't. He then tried to pour using our uneven pavers as the form. When confronted he noted he'd use an even edge- we afterward discovered he used lumber from our property for framing the pour. There are so many more issues, I wont outline them all. The end result cost twice as much as originally bid, and may need to be jackhammered out so that it can be poured correctly. read more

Joe and his crew are very nice people and are very skilled replacing the driveway. Joe outlined exactly what he was going to do and when he was going to do it. The old driveway was removed on Friday. On Monday the forms and rebar was installed. Then the cement truck arrived and the concrete was spread evenly 6 inches deep. The surface was smoothed out evenly. Then, Coca-Cola was sprayed over the surface which prevented the top layer of cement to harden. Later in the day, Joe returned and washed the top layer of concrete away exposing the aggregate. I required a basic slab to replace an old cracked and heaving patio. The response was quick and the price was right for demoing, removal, and a new pour. Unfortunately the work was sub-par. All of the edges were very rough and uneven in parts. There is no finesse to the work they did. It is a very rough and unsightly concrete slab sitting next to my house. They left the job site extremely messy. Concrete was splattered everywhere (on my fence, my garden hose nozzle was covered because they used it.) It took them a week to come back and remove the forms and return my pick-axe they borrowed. I really hate to leave a bad review but it was obvious there was no care taken with the work. It seems as though the other bad reviews have been kind of buried so hopefully this one will be helpful. read more

You cannot beat the price. We had multiple companies come and make an estimate and based on previous reviews of good experiences, decided to go with Joe and Green Pacific. Their price was nearly half of what others wanted to charge. He came out right away and was great at listening to what we wanted and working with us if things ever needed to be tweaked. We wanted a stamped concrete patio that looked like slate tiles with "roman tile" cuts. If you know what you want and communicate that well, Joe does a great job of listening and getting you what you are asking for. I give Joe 9 out of 10 points for his service. I need to make a 1000 sq ft patio in the backyard. I quoted several companies and Joe gave a fair price and straight forward in everything. Another company asked to quote with others first and came back to him to let him decide whether he can match it. I don't like this way, and I prefer to work with some honest man like Joe. The project is fine. Everything is finished on time as we agreed on. The only complaint, or improvement, I think Joe can make is that he can take care of existing stuff in the yard a little better. After the job, there is concrete debri everywhere, on my patio furniture, on the flower pots, on the tree, etc, and one leg of my outdoor dining table is cracked after they moved it around. If possible, I would recommend Joe to cover furnitures and pots with some plastic wraps in future. It would make it much easier to clean up afterwards. read more

Terrible communication, lack of interest in a job. I needed a quote for removal of a driveway, and Joe said he didn't need me to be there, he could just go by and take a look. I received no quote, and when I called to check up (after he failed to get in touch with me) he was like oh, yeah, I got the address wrong, so I just didn't do it. I had asked him, a few times, to please call me if he needed anything or if there was a problem, and he just blew the whole thing off. I'll be going with any other concrete company for the work, and I'll be actively dissuading people from using them in the future. Long story short, unless you're going to be there to keep an eye on them, they aren't going to care about your needs. Call a better company. read more

We were so thrilled with the stamped, black colored, concrete pad for our workshop that Joe and his crew poured for us a couple years ago that we knows exactly who to call when we wanted some stairs poured for our new French doors in our backyard. Joe is always super friendly and gets the job done quickly for a very fair price. Quality is outstanding! The stairs look perfect and have the right amount of slant away from the house so that rain doesn't pool. A couple months after they poured the stairs I decided that I wanted the patio that half the stairs were covering to be cut back about two and a half feet so I could lay a strip of bricks in front of the whole stairway, so I called Joe again and he came out with his saw and jackhammer and took care of that too (cut a super straight line, broke up all the concrete, and hauled it all away in a couple hours-again for a really fair price). I can't recommend him and his crew enough! They are awesome! I will hire him for all my future concrete work :) read more

I called and set up an appointment for an estimate. I expected someone from Green Pacific Concrete to show up sometime near the appointment time. A couple showed up for the appointment, man didn't speak english well, woman did though...They did not want to give a written estimate, only a dollar amount written on the business card. This job is in the 10 to 12k range. I believe they showed up for the Green Pacific appointment, but no way to know for sure. Their business card was Friendly Diamond Construction. They did eventually provide an estimate for only one job via email, but again ONLY the dollar amount for one job, not an itemized estimate, and there are two separate jobs. When I asked for a reference of a recent client who had the same type of concrete work done, they stopped communicating. Was this person sent by Green Pacific as a sub ? Never heard back from anyone at Green Pacific, unlikely in the extreme that a contractor just happened to show up at that appointed time, but Green Pacific did not... Basically, EVERY contractor I've had out here so far has refused to provide previous client references. Many would not provide a written estimate. I'm being extra careful to spend more money and get references because this is a stamped / colored job, and everyone says that requires a special crew with extra expertise. read more

In NE Portland, they tore out our old cracked driveway and broken sidewalk, formed a new driveway a bit wider and closer to the house, and extended our concrete porch area. The finish is perfect. They work really hard as a team - well, they had to on our project because it was pushing 90 degrees. In this busy construction season, Joe's schedule can be a moving target, but that was ok with me because I had to put him off our first scheduled time because drywall was coming and I didn't want them to get in each other's way. That pushed us back a couple of weeks, but that was because I rescheduled them. I totally recommend this company! read more

The end result was not up to my standards, but my husband was trying too hard to be the nice guy, and I felt ganged up on. Siope (Joe) is a nice guy for sure- and I'm not sure what happened with our project, but I hope he will do a better job for you. We hired him to pour a broom finish section of driveway and a stamped dyed concrete patio. The patio has boot prints... people who see this are just in shock. There are also unstamped sections and sections where stamping is badly misaligned. Also, the patio is not properly sloped and collects water in front of our garage side-door. The driveway is also not sloped properly, and has two big puddles when it rains. I also question if the driveway got sealed, with the way water soaks in, though I wasn't here so I'm not sure. They also did not compact the gravel underneath, which we wouldn't have known if we weren't home (Joe said the concrete arrived sooner than expected). Fortunately, most of the gravel had been there through the winter so hopefully this will be less of a problem than it would be for some jobs. Joe tried to get us to pay before washing away the dark 'release powder'- when we couldn't see any of these issues yet- glad we did not. Then when we complained he said, oh, it is a small part (it is not) and offered less than 10% discount, nothing about fixing the problem. He didn't offer to demo and redo and didn't suggest another solution. I thought we should have insisted, but my husband didn't see how redoing it would give a better result, if they had so many problems the first time. So we ended up not pressing the issue. We did decide on a lower price. But we started with a demoed graveled area and ended with a patio that needs to be torn out or otherwise have major repairs. I'd say, if you hire these guys, keep a close eye out. read more
