I'm some one with natural kinky and coily hair (like 4a-4b hair type). I'm always skeptical with who I allow to style my hair, but Jasmine did not disappoint! She did a wonderful job straighten and styling my hair. The inside is very nice, not crowded. They clientele is diverse, with services for different hair textures and ethnicities. This salon is unreliable. I booked an appointment with them three days in advance to have my hair done for an event I was going to. At first I was so happy that they still had availability on relatively short notice. But then, after sending not one but two confirmation emails, this salon called to cancel my appointment with less than 24 hours notice. They also did so so close to their closing time that I was unable to reach them to attempt to reschedule in time. They said that the stylist I had booked with had been out sick all week, but if that was the case why not cancel earlier? Why even let me book the appointment in the first place since I booked it that week? This salon has a 24 hour cancellation policy, yet they cancelled on me with fewer than 24 hours notice leaving me SOL before an event that was very important to me. I was excited about this salon, but due to this unreliability and appalling unprofessionalism I will never attempt to book with them again. I wish I could give them 0 stars since I received 0 service. UPDATE It turns out they called me earlier on the day they canceled my appointment, but I completely missed that call and didn't see it until they called me again this morning after I left this review. I still received a second confirmation email after the first call that I didn't see until now, so I still think their actions were a little misleading. And I think my point about them waiting until the day before my appointment to cancel for an employee who'd been out all week still stands. I still want nothing to do with them. read more

Eden is super knowledgeable about color and she will pamper your hair. Love love this place

I've been natural for 6 years and have very thick hair, but that was absolutely no problem for Rhonda, a fantastic colorist that introduced beautiful caramel honey tones to my hair. This blowout is amazing, feels nice and bouncy (I never use heat in my hair so this was a huge deal for me). All of this plus the warm conversation and clean environment makes it a no brainer - I'll definitively be coming back in the new year! read more

Found my new salon home! One of the best salon experiences I've ever had. Eden is a gem, truly gifted and knowledgeable about hair. My favorite part was walking in and being asked about how my hair responds/reacts to the services I was getting. We talked quite a bit about my hair before even completing the service, and Eden clearly addressed how important hair integrity is. I have been going to Eden Salon for about five months now and I can say that I enjoy my experience here. From the moment you walk in you are greeted warmly by the receptionist, Segan (I hope I didnt misspell your name). She is so nice and genuine. I get my natural hair flat ironed by Jasmine. She does an excellent job with my hair and most importantly, I dont have any heat damage. Jasmine is entertaining and always has a good story to tell. I absolutely love this salon, I had the very kind sweetheart of a stylist "Jasmine ." I took my 11 year old daughter there to get her hair done , this place is definitely kid friendly! My daughter got a silk press, she has extremely thick and long hair, Jasmine was able to tame that beast! I've been twice now-two different stylists. The people are super friendly. The first cut was a 3.5/5 the second a 2:5. They both needed direction fm me, the client, on how to get to the cut I asked for. Neither asked how I wanted my hair styled when done (blowout? Leave curly?). read more

I am beyond happy with my experience at Eden Salon! Rhonda is truly incredible. She makes you feel instantly welcome and her knowledge of her craft is so evident. She was patient, hilarious, and thorough. She is fully open to feedback as she cuts (which has become something that is scary to offer when sitting in the salon chair, but Rhonda wants to hear your thoughts because she wants you to love your cut/style/color!!). I struggled with writing this review because I don't understand fully what happened during my visit. I was about 10 minutes late (100% my fault), but my hairdresser had a terrible attitude from the beginning of my experience until the end. She incorrectly colored my hair and was very judgmental about the hair products that I used. The owner didn't step in to address the situation and that made the entire experience worse. She was bending over backwards to ingratiate herself to other clients. Terrible experience overall. I went back to my original salon and they were shocked about what was done at Eden. I went here to get my hair done. Apparently I booked the wrong service, and my hair was only washed and blow dryed and not pressed. I didn't want to get my hair trimmed without it being pressed first. The manager was very accommodating and allowed me to come back after straightening my own hair. When I did come back, I didn't check my ends like I normally do because I was in a hurry. So I came back the next day and someone else trimmed my hair again. They were very kind. I am a longtime, huge fan of Eden DC Salon. I go to Eden for my haircut and color, and I take my 9 year old stepdaughter to see Jasmine for a haircut and blow-dry. Both Eden and Jasmine are SO WONDERFUL. I can't rave about them enough. My stepdaughter looks forward to getting her hair cut as much as I do, she gets so excited. Eden is amazing! I recently moved to DC and have been struggling to find a good hair salon. Eden was friendly, very knowledgable on various cutting and styling techniques and very efficient. She equates her speed to years of cutting hair near the capitol and having to get clients in and out on their lunch breaks. Either way, I couldn't be happier. I had a great experience with Eden who cut and colored my short natural. After she completed the service, she told me that if I didn't like it or wanted to change the color. Two weeks later, I decided that I wanted to go darker. I called Eden and she scheduled an appointment that fit my schedule. I went in and she toned down my color at no additional charge. I love Eden DC salon in the northeast. I love the atmosphere great vibes; they play a lot of 90s and 2000s R&B music to set the mood. I was greeted by the stylist Erika who greeted me and took me to the washbowl; what I like about Erika wow shampooing my hair she was able to tell me what she was doing, which I felt was very professional she even asked me what would I like to be done to my hair and how would I want to go for it by redefining it I appreciate it that she gave a 100% excellent customer service and I will be back soon! read more

Eden has done my color and cuts for years. Previously at Bang, I learned of her actually from a guy who got his cuts from her. Since then I've learned that she is the stylist who did an awesome pixie cut for another friend of mine! I go pretty infrequently because I'm addicted to intense color and have to restrain myself, but she never shames me for being a color addict! She's a calming personality and I'd recommend any type of hair to her. Also the first stylist who knows how long my thick hair takes and schedules the length of appt appropriately! The salon is very conveniently located on H st. Very nice inside and calming. But the main reason to go is for the services. I got a men's haircut by Eden, and the same day had two people compliment the cut. Everybody in the salon was friendly, treated the customers well and just made the atmosphere relaxing and pleasant. I can see why Eden opened her own business, she does excellent work and really seems to hire a great group of people. First and foremost, I have to say THANK YOU EDEN! I have been considering coloring my hair for years, when I say years I mean YEEEAAARRRSSSS, but I was never brave or comfortable enough to go for it. After looking up different stylists and salons I landed on Eden DC Salon. I took a chance and sent an email, when I say within 30 minutes I received a phone call from Eden herself I mean like exactly 30 minutes (this was def in the evening, so I wasn't expecting a response right away). Eden was sweet, she asked me a bunch of questions about my hair, what I was wanting all of that. I sent her photos of my hair now, and the hair goals and from there she was upfront and honest and let me know what could happen. I had a goal to have my hair a certain way by May and my girl Eden knew exactly what to do, how to do it and when she would do it. During the appointment we had amazing conversation, I was very comfortable. She explained everything as she went and let me know how to take care of my new color. Thank you Eden!
