I received a Japanese Hair Straightening Treatment here performed by Iris and Mai! Everyone was extremely kind and very thoughtful throughout the entire visit. My hair is the best it's ever been after my visit and I plan to return!

Best customer service!!! The hair wash was amazing! My stylist was Mai, she's absolutely amazing, no word can explain my experience with her. I came to get my hair cut to donate to wigs for kids and I got this amazing bob cut by her. beyond my expectation! they are absolutely an amazing salon. Definitely be back. :) They have extensive service from hairs to skin cares! great location too.

I didn't have time to get a haircut before leaving for DC because work. My hair was feeling so heavy because of the heat and humidity in DC that I decided to get a haircut here since I'm here for almost a month. Thanks to Google Maps, I found this place. I needed a place that was walking distance to DuPont to meet up with my sisters. So lucky they had an appointment available at the right time too. I booked the appointment online for 10 am the next morning and paid a $50 deposit. I'm so happy with the way Eva cut and styled my hair! I showed her a picture of the cut I wanted and she agreed that it would be good for someone with a round face. My hair felt so light and good after the cut. She also showed me how to style it using the flat iron to create beach waves. I posted my new haircut on Instagram and I got so many compliments from friends and family! Thanks Eva! I also got my eyebrows waxed by Mai. She also did a great job. She suggested micro blading, and showed me pictures of her work, but it costs a little bit too much for me. They offer clients coffee and tea during service and the assistant massages your scalp when she's washing your hair. So relaxing and such a luxury having someone wash your hair. Lol Oh and make sure you have cash for the tip. If I'm needing a a haircut again when visiting my sisters here in DC, I would definitely make an appointment with Eva again.

If you're looking for someone who has immense passion and skill for hair extensions, Emily at Inari Salon is the person you've been looking for. Working with Emily was nothing short of a dream. She is truly a fairy glam-mother! From the initial consultation, I knew I was in good hands. Candidly, I was a little nervous because it was my first time getting extensions, but she made the process seamless and educational. Emily customized and blended the Great Lengths extensions to match my hair perfectly. Her technique was gentle and detailed-oriented. The keratin bonds feel flexible and my hair does not feel weighed down. I am truly in awe with the results and natural movement the extensions give. In all, I enjoyed my salon experience at Inari. I've never felt more confident and beautiful. I could not be more grateful to have found Emily during this time before my Big Day! So Emily - I can't thank you enough! GO SEE ALEX! Sorry, didn't mean to shout, but Alex definitely deserved a shout out as she is a miracle worker! My hair used to go down close to my waist and for years my previous hairstylist did a great job with it. But then I decided it was time to get a more modern and sassy look, so after showing her some photos off went the hair! It was at that moment that I realized not all stylists are cut out for shorter hairstyles. I ended up with a choppy mess that didn't seem to have any rhyme or reason and I instantly regretted cutting off my locks. NOOOO!!!! Now what??? Thank heavens a friend of mine came to the rescue, and she told me to high tail it over to INARI Salon and ask for Alex. Everyone at the salon was friendly and welcoming. I could tell by the look in Alex's eyes as she ran her hands through my chopped up hair that she too agreed it was a red hot mess. I told her I gave her complete control to do what she wanted with my hair and she got to work. Let me tell you what, this girl knows her stuff! She masterfully got to cutting and razoring my hair. She worked with my hair, not against it and in no time at all I had a gorgeous cut that made me feel beautiful and sassy! I am adding before and after photos so you can see for yourself. The cut is a short, stacked bob, but I tucked my hair behind my ears in the after photo. Also, my previous stylist did my pink and teal colors and Alex was right, it was too much pink on top. She didn't change the hair colors, but worked with them to create a nice flow and I love it! If this is what I look like after an emergency fixer upper I freaking can't wait to see how amazing I am going to look when I go back in a couple of months and let her color my hair her way too! GO SEE ALEX!!! She is a true artist!

I came here for a balayage and facial. I was immediately greeted at the front by Emily and was brought to the back for my facial. The salon was very clean, nicely lit and smelled very nice (some salons have that strong hair dye/bleach smell - this one didn't!). Eva cut and did a balayage on my hair. She literally transformed my hair. My hair was dry and flat. After dying, washing/conditioning my hair, I noticed that it was shinier than it was before. Eva also does a very good job listening to what you want and actually executing the style (in the way that I envisioned my hair). She also recommended I get layers and I'm so glad she did! My hair looks more voluminous and frames my face well. She was also very gentle with my hair and talked me through all the steps that she was doing. I highly recommend getting your hair done by Eva. Mai did my facial and walked me through all the steps of what she was doing and applying on my face. She also gave me recommendations for my skin type. She also informed me off everything I will notice immediately after the facial (like mild redness for 2-3 hours after the facial and then mild flaking/dryness for the next couple of days). Honestly, my face was red for two hours max and then I only noticed dryness around my nose for two days. My skin has since cleared up because of the facial and following the regimen she recommended. I'm so happy I got the facial with Mai. All the staff here were very nice. This is a family-owned salon that also offers eyelash extensions, mani/pedi, permanent make up services etc. I highly recommend this salon for all of your beauty needs!

For those who have hair color - especially blonde - you know how difficult it is to find the right hairstylist who knows how to achieve blonde color that looks natural and NOT brassy! Santos Sanchez is an amazing hairdresser and colorist! He was referred to me by a coworker several years ago and I have referred him to many friends. The best color and haircut that I have ever had and I have been doing color in my hair for 35 years! Santos has a great personality and listens to what you are looking to achieve! He is a keeper and I would follow him anywhere!

It was a full transformation and Eva was so careful to make sure to answer my questions about care and give pro tips. She's a gem. The environment itself is also super clean, neat, and organized. I absolutely love Inari. I have been coming here for about four years now specifically for Brazilian blowouts, and they are consistently phenomenal. Before finding this salon in DC, there was a stretch of time, especially during COVID, when I stopped getting Brazilian treatments altogether. By the time I first came into Inari, my hair had fully reverted back to its natural state, which for me means very curly, very big, very everything. From that first appointment onward, the results have been incredible every single time. I usually go either once a year or every six months, depending on whether I want to let my curls really come back or keep things sleek for longer. The upkeep is easy, the results last, and the quality of the treatment is outstanding. One thing I have learned over the years, and this is not specific to Inari but worth mentioning, is that letting the initial treatment stay in your hair for a full 48 to 72 hours really makes a difference in how well the keratin sets. When done right, the transformation is wild. I go from extremely curly hair to pin straight hair after washing. Sometimes it is almost too straight for me, but honestly, I love it. The team here truly knows what they are doing, and the consistency over multiple years is what keeps me coming back. I will absolutely be returning again in a few months for another blowout and would recommend this salon without hesitation. read more

Absolutely awful mens haircut. I told the stylist I wanted it short and she proceeded to almost give me a buzz cut. Didn't trust her judgement so left half way through the haircut, looking like Andy Warhol. Thankfully could book elsewhere same day to fix it. read more

I'm not sure I've ever written a bad review before, but I just have to warn in this case. I paid almost $460 (+ 4 hours of my time) for a Brazilian blowout "guaranteed to last 12 weeks." After just ONE wash my hair went completely back to what it was - wavy and very frizzy. I unfortunately got the blowout right before going abroad for 6+ months - it was sort of the point to have my hair in good shape before going. I reached out to Inari and their first response was that I likely didn't use the right shampoo following the treatment which is why it happened. I responded saying I had actually done all my own research and was VERY careful with all products I used, etc. so that was not the issue. They did say I could come back in and they could see what they could do. I reiterated that I was abroad for the foreseeable future and the point of the treatment was that it would last me while I was on this trip so would rather be reimbursed for some part of it (noting I attached pictures of my hair to this). After that I never heard from them again. I sent another two emails following up - both very courteous and reasonable and just got silence. Reading the other reviews this is clearly a trend. I'm actually not complaining about the original price or the service (the person who did my hair was lovely and meticulous), but it's about the complete lack of customer service and commitment to actual quality. Just ignoring your customer emails after they spent almost $500 on what basically turned out to be a blowout! Save your money on this treatment and go to DryBar for the next 10 weeks and you'll pay less and be way happier! read more

Absolutely terrible experience with Victoria. I asked for long layers and a trim of a FEW inches and she chopped off half my hair --5+ inches in some places. I have never been more upset after a hair appointment in my life. On top of that, this terrible experience cost me $175; I paid close to $200 to have my hair butchered and leave on the verge of tears. Insane price for this service and quality. I have reached out to the business and will update this review if I hear from them. It looks like a lot of the 5 stars reviews of this place are from years ago, which makes sense. I had a great experience here a few years ago getting a Brazilian blowout with Eva. This time, it was absolutely awful. read more

Did a thermal reconditionning there, paid over 800 dollars plus they dont tell you an extra charge if you pay with debit or credit card I took care of my hair after treatment followed all protocols all my roots were still frizzy a week later that hairstylist redid my roots that further damaged my hair. A week later i washed and all frizzy wavy!! Went to two other different salon they both told me the salon deceived you and did a brazilian blow out (value 300ish dollars) that just smooths frizz unlike a thermal that is supposed to permamently straighten your hair with no hot tools even after wet. I stilll have to use my iron. owner who barely speaks english never responded to none of my emails when i ask a refund, i called and she hung up on my face pretending shell call me back, and they have my pictures to show them how frizzy my hair still are! Now i have to pay againa treatment at a different salon! Update to her response: first im foreign too, sue me while you the one who stole my money!! Are you crazy to claim that i never came to your salon??? Wish i can post my bank transaction with your salon name all the money i gave you. Can you read I said Louis in his salon in matyland only did roots on my hairline. The whole treatment was made at your salon I am NOT removing my review- discrimination you dont evenknow the law and rights in this country. You are the one stealing peoplle and that makes me more lefitimate to take you in court!!!! I will come to the salon to get my money back with the police!!! I paid all this money for a japanese straightening my hair still curly and i emailed you 5 times many pictires!!!! Your answer to my review is obviously a robotic reply since it shows a discrepancy with the way you talk. And yes to run a business you needto understsnd and communicate with customers, you struggled to communicate with me on the phone and you couldnt understand my request you just said ill call you bacl and you never did!!! I am extremely picky with who cuts my hair. I have short hair and it needs to get cut every four weeks. I must say that Alex really has great hand and is an expert with her scissors. Every time I go I usually ask for a change in cut and she is magical. I highly recommend, Alex, she also does fabulous color. Always on point at not everyone gets the color you want. If you are in need of a change or looking for a salon this is where you need to go. I also have my facials done with Mai. I've been going to Inari for six years now. Highly recommend. read more

Alex has been my stylist for over 30 years. I've followed her from the few salons she has worked in during that time. She listens, she's talented, and she takes her time to make sure you leave with perfection. I have short hair and it's difficult to find someone who can make it stylish and "less heavy". Alex exceeds at that with me. relocation has had me in and out of the DC Salon. all paths, however, lead back to Alex. She is a stylist who has become a treasured friend. read more

I work in DC and this salon is a 12min walk from my job. Called during my lunch break and I was able to get an appointment after work for a haircut. They made sure Melissa, the hairdresser was compatible with my hair texture and desired style. Melissa did an amazing job and she was fast as well! I had a super fancy event and went to Inari for my hair and make-up. I came in not giving them much info to work with in terms of what I wanted (since I have little makeup/hair experience), but I trusted the stylists' abilities, let them do whatever they wanted, and they totally transformed me! They nailed my look and I received so many compliments during the event! Emily and her team were professional, friendly, and supportive. Definitely coming back for more glam ups! read more

Had the most wonderful day at Inari a few weeks ago! Absolutely a DC gem incredible services, the staff are all warm and so helpful. Severely overpriced for mediocre results. There are significantly more impressive salons in the area offering superior service for much less. If I drop 1k in a day, I need to have results that match. Pass on this salon. read more

I was in DC for the day, and called for an appointment for a blowout before my evening event. When I arrived they took me back and started the hair wash, with cold water. They didn't have any hot water, but nobody had bothered to tell me BEFORE my hair was wet! I endured an ice cold hair wash, followed by an ok blowout. When I paid, I explained that the hairwash had been cold water and I didn't feel I should be charged $75, to which I was told "yeah, our water was fine until about 4 p.m., but then it went off. Sorry." I said they should have told me BEFORE I started - I might not have gotten the service - and he said, well we thought it might come back. No discount, no real apology. Guess they figured I was somebody from out of town and unlikely to come back. That is certainly true now. read more

I rarely ever write reviews, but this salon deserves SO much. Right when I walked in, I was treated with such hospitality. The salon itself is BEAUTIFUL, very modern and chic. My hair stylist, Eva, transformed my hair completely. This is the only time I had ever walked out of a salon absolutely loving every part of the process. My hair was is pretty difficult to work with, since I have been using box dye for the last couple years. Eva not only fixed my hair, but made it the most beautiful I had seen it in years. This is hands-down the best salon I have ever been to. I will be going here from now on, they have me as a client for life! read more

So thankful Inari has opened back up. Thank you Emily and Mai for shipping their product all the way to California for me thank you for the thoughtfulness and care when it comes to helping me take care of my eczema skin. Been on Mai's recommended skin regime for a year now and I can't be more happy with the results! Everyone at Inari is so warm and welcoming! To start, I really enjoyed my hair wash and massage as she really took her time to make me feel comfortable. For my haircut, Mai was so professional and efficient. I only had to show her one reference photo and tell her what I wanted, and she was able to get it right away and delivered amazing results! I am extremely pleased with the pedicure and facial that I received at INARI Salon and Spa. I am an upcoming bride and wanted to treat myself before our wedding. The staff at INARI are kind, caring, and attentive. Mai gave me the best facial and I am still glowing weeks after my treatment. My skin felt soft, smooth, and firmer after the facial. MY NEW GO TO SALON!! 1. I came on time for my appointment and Emily was at the desk, she saw me and told me that Santos was ready to see me. 2. This is my first time having my hair done by Santos and CAN I SAY that this is the best service that I've ever gotten. Santos is my new favorite person because he really listens to concerns that you have with your hair. (I came in with so much bleach damage and uneven bangs) He's amazingly nice and he helped me achieve the aesthetic that I was going for, short bangs and layers for hair movement to suit the shape of my head. Throughout the entire process he taught me about what he was doing with my hair and why he was doing certain cuts. Santos is METICULOUS with layers and he cut my hair with such skill and attention, he really provides the best service. He also has an amazing personality and so I loved talking with him while he was working. 3. This is a small family business and you HONESTLY cannot get better, genuine, and caring service than what this salon can provide. This is my new favorite place and I will be coming back. I have been going to the inari salon for years because Shushadda is an artist and makes my hair beautiful! She is expert level with hair ! Recently I had micro blading done at the salon as well by the talented Mai! I've had my eye brows micro bladed two other times and Mai did a superior job! I wish I had met her sooner. Inari is a hidden gem hiding in plain sight I must have walked past this place a million times and went there for the first time this weekend. The inside is decorated beautifully. Because of covid, they put up barriers between stations which I think is very thoughtful. They also gave me a disposable mask so I didn't get hair dye on my mask! Alex cut and colored my hair and she did a fabulous job. I have been getting my hair dyed black for some time now and Alex is the first colorist to ask me what "kind" of black I would like, so you know they pay attention to detail here. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone but especially if you work in downtown DC it is extremely convenient. read more

I rarely write reviews but because the service was exceptional I could not help it - Spa Pedicure 1. Spa Pedicure Service probably one of the best services I have received anywhere. Yes they use a covering clean liner for the tub every new customer, the nail technician cleaned any dirts under over the toe nails and professionally cleaned every single toe nail. She took her time in making sure it was really clean. The scrub , paraffin wax,and stones on my feet were great ! The water temperature was perfect and 2. The location was convenient and as I walked into the salon I felt welcomed. Clean restroom . I was offered tea or water, lemon tea was good, the whole place was spotless even thought I was there around 7pm. The staff was friendly and professional. 3. All 5 stars earned. read more

This review is for Sera…read more I completely understand that a stylist's time is valuable, and I know it's frustrating when clients are late. I also understand why my appointment needed to be rescheduled. My issue is not with the policy, it's with how I was treated. I was made to feel like an inconvenience from the moment I walked into the salon. I had a 12:45 p.m. appointment and called before leaving home to let the salon know I was running about 10 minutes late, which is their stated grace period. The receptionist told me she would let Sera know. At 12:56 p.m., when I was literally one minute away from the salon, I received a call saying Sera could no longer see me because I was late, and she had back-to-back clients. While I was disappointed, I understood. I asked if I could still come in briefly to speak with Sera because I wasn't even sure I needed a full highlight service, and the receptionist agreed. When I arrived, Sera immediately told me I needed to reschedule and seemed unwilling to discuss my hair beyond commenting that the back was "really dark" and explaining that she had returning clients scheduled after me. She didn't seem to know or care that I was a returning client. Sera had done my hair in February, and I came back because I had really liked her work. Not recognizing me in and of itself is not a big problem--I know a lot of people sit in her chair--but it made the interaction feel impersonal and left me wondering if she'd even prepared for my appointment. I was fully prepared to work with Sera and the receptionist to find another date and time that fit both of our schedules. Instead, both were unhelpful, dismissive, and rude. This experience was especially difficult because I have pretty severe alopecia areata that, thankfully, is now well controlled with medication, allowing me to grow most of my hair back. That said, I wore a wig for five years after losing most of my hair, so finding a stylist I trust is still an incredibly vulnerable and anxiety-producing experience. Every time I see someone new, I have to explain my hair loss and why I prefer a lived-in color that doesn't require overly frequent trips to the salon. I chose to return to Sera because I thought I had found someone I could continue seeing. Instead, I left feeling embarrassed, dismissed, and genuinely upset. I walked out of the salon, called my husband, and cried like a reprimanded little girl. I am a 35-year-old grown-ass woman. Policies are important, and I respect them. Kindness and professionalism are just as important. Had the situation been handled with empathy and respect, I would have happily rescheduled. Instead, I left feeling less like a person and more like a time slot or a dollar sign. It seems like Sera may have enough clients that turning one away isn't a big deal, but I was respectful, cooperative, and ready to work with her to find another appointment. I deserved that same courtesy and respect in return.

In those experiences, even when a haircut did not fully match my preferred style or length, the technical quality was consistently strong, and any adjustments were handled professionally. Unfortunately, this experience was very different. One of the defining characteristics of a Japanese haircut is the smoothness, softness, precision, and careful organization of the layers. In my case, the cut lacked those qualities and appeared uneven and poorly structured (the photo from the back). I was also disappointed by the salon's management. Based on my experience, the overall operation and quality control did not reflect the standards typically associated with Japanese salons. Update (May 2026): Over the past 4 years, I have been with my Japanese hair stylist in New York. I returned to the salon to see Keiko because I was hoping to find a long-term stylist in Washington, DC. I had not had my haircut for 7 months prior to that because I delivered a baby in December 2025. Ozuki appeared to be one of the few salons in the area offering Japanese hairstylists. Immediately after the appointment, the haircut looked good due to the styling and blow-dry. However, within a few days, the shape became difficult to manage and appeared increasingly unstructured. The photo on my ID, taken approximately three weeks after the haircut, reflects how the cut settled over time. In contrast, the Japanese haircuts I have received elsewhere typically maintain their shape and balance for several months. Despite my concerns, I scheduled another appointment six weeks after the first haircut with Keiko because I genuinely hoped the issues could be corrected and that I could establish a relationship with a local stylist. At the same time, I let the management know that my haircut had bad form and hope that it can be resolved at the second appointment. Unfortunately, my interactions with management, Liz, were once again disappointing. Rather than addressing the concerns constructively, the response left me with little confidence that the salon could deliver the level of quality I was seeking. This is the first Japanese salon where I have repeatedly had unsatisfactory experiences. Based on the consistency of those experiences, I am not convinced that the salon operates at the standard typically associated with Japanese hairstyling.

If you are ever in the downtown washington area looking for a salon/spa with experience in African American hair. Inari is the place to be! The atmosphere is unbelievably beautiful, calming and all around a great experience. I am a model who travels widely on the east coast. I was looking for a hairstylist one day in DC and stumbled across a clear view window at the corner of Vermont and K st. NW. I stood a small distance from the window and watched this guy (Gary), as he worked on an African American lady with short hair. He was applying highlights to her. I then stepped in the salon and was greeted by the nicest, most inviting front desk rep. I explained to her that I was interested in setting up a consultation with Gary but I would only be in town for a few days. She immediately went to Gary and came back stating that I could come back to speak with him about what I wanted, etc. As I entered the area of where I spotted him in the window, he greeted me with "Hello Doll". I was immediately made to feel comfortable. He told me to take a seat next to where he was working with his client and began to ask me what I was looking for to be done. I felt good because I was also able to watch his skills with this client while explaining to him what I wanted. He then wrapped the client up and sat her under the dryer. We discussed one on one what my vision was and his vision was, when I could come in to get my process of cut and relaxer, if I could do color and when. I came the next day and I tell you it was the best experience ever! It is so difficult to find a male hairstylist who is experienced in all areas and will not burn your hair out, or make it too hard with spritzing chemicals. I love my cut and I love my new hairstylist. Ladies, if you are looking for someone with experience in all ethnic hair, i mean color, cut, relaxer, weaves you name it.....go see Gary! This is from someone who never writes reviews but this little gem in the heart of DC deserves every praise it can get. I've been coming to INARI for two years now to get my hair done and more recently also my lashes. I have naturally fine hair, medium length and was looking to add volume and some length to it. I've been experimenting a little bit with extensions before (I've used clip-ins for special occasions and tape-ins for a more permanent look but didn't particularly like the feeling of either. And the tape-ins were easily detectable once they grew out a little). Eva does my hair at INARI and I can honestly say that she's the most talented hair extension stylist ever. I only get two bundles of two shades of blonde, but she uses them in a way that creates the most natural look for me. People do not know I have extensions unless I tell them. They last so long too! I've had them in 4-5 months at a time. I've also started getting lash extensions at INARI with Emily. I don't wear makeup on a daily basis, so this is a good option for me to still look put together with minimal effort in the morning. Coming in for the first time I only knew I wanted a cat eye look and volume. Emily, the real pro that she is, created exactly the look that I was going for, and I've been going back for refills ever since. I honestly don't know how I lived without them before. They last long and cause zero damage to my natural lashes. I'm saving so much time getting ready too! Emily and Eva are both so talented and professional in what they do and, above that, they are both two of the kindest people I've ever met. I always feel so welcome and at home when I come to INARI. Greetings! I am writing this review because I want to spread what greatness I found by simply walking in one day! I am the girl that happened to take pictures of my hair stylist Gary while he was doing a Brazilian Keratin Treatment. So my curiosity caused me to go in and ask what he was doing and he spent about 5 minutes explaining to me what it was and what it would do to my unruly curly hair. I was sold at HELLO! I booked an appointment the very next day! Well after my eagerness ran away I did some research I found that I was about 50/50 on this treatment that he was about to do, and where I would shell out $350 to make my hair look great. So I arrived to my appointment and he was glad that I did my research and answered all of my questions and I was still sold at HELLO! So the process did take about 90 minutes and I was super nervous. I was told that my hair would defy all bouts of humidity and it would stay super straight. So after all of the processes that were involved with it my hair was how you see it in my profile picture. I was elated with joy in how soft my hair was and how it just seemed to fall right into place. So four days passed and I was in NYC and got caught in the rain and I had to wear it curly and my curls where soft as ever and looser and I didn't have to put that much product in it to deal with the rain and humidity. I am happy with INARI and I am in love with GARY! I will recommend the Brazilian Keratin Treatment to anyone who loves there natural texture but wants to battle the DC humidity! Muah! I had a Brazilian Blowout done at Inari just in time for the holiday party circuit last year. I was absolutely delighted with the results and I received a lot of compliments. The first time I had it done it took a little over 90 minutes from start to finish. After four months, I called Inari to schedule another Brazilian Blowout and discovered the lady that did it for me, Donna, was on vacation. The salon was gorgeous and modern looking, so I decided to let the manager, Oni, pair me with another stylist because I was going on vacation, too. Alex (she's a woman) did a wonderful job. She was prompt, courteous, and, most importantly, skilled! I mentioned that I was going on vacation and Alex reminded me to pack the aftercare product. I purchased it the first time I had it done and I think that's why it lasted as long as it did. I have a friend who got a Brazilian Blowout, but didn't purchase the aftercare product--hers lasted two and half months. In a nutshell, Inari's a nice, clean, and modern salon with talented staff. It's so tough to find a nice salon and it's nice to know there's more than one stylist I can work with there. I've been back to Inari twice in the last month, first for a haircut and second for a facial. Overall exceptional and friendly service. They make you feel like family. The salon is chic, clean and well kept. It's a one stop shop for nails, hair and skin. 9/7/19: Mai's facial did wonder to my skin! She was so kind to squeeze me in her busy schedule for a hyper pigmentation treatment and facial. I was nervous about the treatment because I have very sensitive skin with years of eczema but Mai assured me of her years of experience and I'm so glad I took the leap of faith! My skin feels better than ever. P.S. little/no sun exposure is recommended after the treatment so please plan accordingly when scheduling your appointment. 8/16/19: I had my haircut at INARI with Eva. Absolutely loved the style and vision she had for my hair. I needed framing and texture in my style and she made sure my haircut was perfect before leaving the store. Donna gave me a fantastic Brazilian Blowout last week. The process and results were as described by her and generally on the web. It took over two hours to complete for my long, thick, curly hair. She was meticulous and I love the results. My hair is shiny and smooth, and there is no frizz. I did smell the chemicals when she used a flat iron on my hair, and it made my eyes a little uncomfortable. I generally have sensitive eyes, though, so it wasn't too bad. If I were to do this regularly, I might suggest the salon get a small fan to set up when they do these treatments. When Donna had finished the Blowout, she realized that my hair was uneven, so she wound up trimming it pretty substantially. I like the cut, although I had been trying to grow out my hair -- so I suggest thinking through in advance whether you are willing to get a trim (and, of course, pay for it). She fully disclosed that the treatment is addictive, and it's true -- I expect to be back, at the very least next summer when the DC humidity is at its worst. read more

I've been going here for almost two years, and wouldn't go anywhere else! I have recently moved to PA from DC, and am still planning to come back to get Brazilian Blowouts (keratin straightening treatment) and cuts from Donna. I've had them at three other places (in NYC and Philadelphia) and nothing can match her expertise. She doesn't rush it or skimp on the treatment, as some places do, and I swear it seems to last weeks longer than it's supposed to. I also have Donna cut my hair, and I've never gotten more compliments. She knows exactly how to tailor a cut to your hair type and gives great styling and product advice. I rave about this place so much that several friends have gotten me gift cards for my birthday/Christmas. I need to try their other services, which I'm sure will not disappoint. This review is LONG overdue. I moved away from DC in 2013, but when I fly back to visit friends, I always make sure to schedule an appointment. I have been getting my color and keratin treatment from Santos since 2009. Gary has done my extensions since 2011. Nora does an awesome job with nails and brow wax. Dana does the best Japanese straightening treatments. Mai always makes waxing as painless and efficient as possible. I trust everyone at this salon. A couple weeks prior to my appointment, I will email a picture of what I want done with my hair. Because I live out of state, I cannot easily return for touch-ups. Santos and Gary are spot on and always get it right the first time. The staff works together to make sure my hair is perfect. I went into Inari last week on a whim, never having read a review - I simply happened to be on the same street, saw the salon, and knew I badly needed a haircut. It turned out to be the best hair decision I've ever made! Dana (pronounced Donna) did an amazing job with my difficult, fine, dry hair - she gave me the absolute best haircut of my life! I'm so happy with it now, and I've never felt good about my hair before (wearing it up most of the time as a result). Since Dana got ahold of it, though, I've worn it down every day and feel really beautiful! The cut was exactly what I wanted for my hair, but I didn't know how to express it in "hair language." Inari is so much more than an amazing salon and spa--it really is a place of healing. Several years ago, I randomly called the salon and spoke to Emily after a bad break up. I needed something different, something new. So as I cried during our consult (no, seriously I did) we decided instead of going short, to go long. A week later, my thinning hair was transformed into long golden brown locks using great length extensions. I can't describe the feeling that it gave me when I saw the results. During the appointment, Emily and Eva chatted with me like old friends. They were so kind during a time that I needed it the most. I will forever be grateful to Inari, Emily, and Eva. Before, my hair was super curly, frizzy and untamed without an hour long routine in the morning. I've gone through the japanese straighten system before and was pretty impressed until Dana recommended the 'Brazillian Keratin Treatment' by Brazillian Blowout and oh wow... Every morning so far, my hair feels so smooth, no frizz and feels so healthy. I use less products to keep it tamed and it can be towel-dried without all the knots and frizzies! The japanese system straighten my hair, BUT the results were flat unlike the volume I still get to keep with the Brazillian Blowout. This salon is ideally located on bustling K Street. The staff treated me like family ;). As of late, I've been frequenting barber shops in the area to get a clean fade with my current style cut. I haven't found a good barber shop in the area since moving here last year. I was urged by my wife to try a haircut at this salon. Melissa gave me a fantastic men's cut. I didn't have an appointment and she worked me right in with a pleasant smile. She cuts with great attention to detail and precision. She gave me a clean fade cut but perfectly blended and styled my longer hair on top, something barber shops have a very difficult time doing! The best hair dresser has just stepped it up!! Gary has moved to the corner of 14th Street and Vermont Avenue to this absolutely beautiful salon (INARI). Gary specialize in African-American hair, but as you know the best ones can do it all, and Gary can and has. Ladies and gentlemen if you consider yourself to be a showstopper than put it to the test. Gary's chair is in the window which gives the effect of you being framed (picture perfect). Almost every Friday morning you will find me in the window getting ready to pose for the camera. What better way to start the weekend off than to get your hair done, ready for the clubs, a date, a bar or if you have more "PERSONAL" plans, let Gary help you stop traffic. read more

I had such a great experience at Inari Salon. My stylist was Christine, and she was incredibly detailed and truly an expert in what she does. I came in for Japanese hair straightening and then returned the following week for K-tip extensions, and I am so happy with the results of both services. From the start, the salon was very transparent about pricing, which I really appreciated. Everything went smoothly with payment (I paid by credit card), and there were no surprises. The salon itself is clean, welcoming, and professional, which made the whole experience even better. I am a working diva who likes my hair to be on point at all times. (smile) It's important to me to have a stylist that is cutting edge, easy to talk to and is about business. I visited Inari today for the first time for a pedicure based solely on the fact that they were the only nearby salon that could squeeze me in on my lunch break. The salon/spa is just beautiful and I sunk in for a 45-minute long reverie of peace and tranquility. The decor is lovely and everyone that helped me was very personable and professional. The pedicure looks great and the foot massage was amazing. And when they accidentally overcharged my card, but I was clearly too relaxed to notice, the owner caught up with me after I left the salon and handed me the difference in cash. I went to see Santo after we had talked a couple times by phone about some problems I had with my hair color at a previous salon. He was readily available and so helpful with suggestions for short term until I could make an appointment. I was a bit anxious but he fixed everything incredibly well and brought my color and highlights back to where they had been before. He did such a beautiful job. He also gave me fantastic cut. I really enjoyed my time with him, it was a fantastic experience, he understood exactly what I needed. He is clearly very experienced and I highly recommend him! Okay so a few weeks ago was the first time I went to the salon and I am so thrilled I am coming back to have my hair done for my senior pictures. My stylist was Gary and he is AMAZING!!!! This was the first time i could actually walk out of a salon without having to do anything to my hair. He is a great stylist and super friendly and works magic with African American hair!! The prices might be kinda up there for some people but I think it is completely worth it because i wont have to touch my hair for a week after I go in.
