Amazing little hole in the wall. Looks and tastes very authentic if you're willing to not eat at some fancy looking place but rather want to eat somewhere the food is good. It's spicy and they know it, keeping tissues on each table. You order up front. The food comes out pretty fast. One of the best places I ate while staying in Auckland.

The food was so good and warm. It was super chilly out when my trio sat down. The portions are large so come with an appetite! If you want some awesome authentic Chinese food, it's worth the stop! I know when I go back to Auckland, I will be making a return stop!

One of the best Asian experiences of my life! These dumplings and noodles are spectacular! This location on Wellesley Street in the CBD is the one I visited. There was a well deserved line at noon but it moved quickly, some waiting to place carryout orders. After placing an order at the door I was ushered to a seat. The dumpling cannot be described, ethereal and sinister. The Dan Dan thick noodles with pork in soup was amazing. Sorry for the superlatives.

After hiking up mt. Eden, my dad and I were hungry and was eager to try this place as it was really rated well on Yelp. The place is very small and cramped, right next to a target furniture store. We arrived right when it open and we were behind a very large order so we had to wait a while. We ended up ordering a hot pot with kumura noodle, a hand shaven noodle with beef, and a small order of cabbage/pork dumplings. The cashier kept asking how spicy I want these dishes and all I can say was 'very spicy' and man did they deliver. Everything was spicy and delicious, and it was numbing. The hot pot was unique, I especially like the noodle, it was very chewy and smooth. The soup though, was a little oily/salty for me. If you add in the vinegar sauce, it makes it better. The hand shaven noodle was really good as well, I love the texture of the noodle and the beef, it was very tender. The soup was good as well. The dumplings were delicious, they were plumb and the sauce it was in definitely match with the dumplings. Overall, I love this place because of it's spice, the portion and the authenticity. The service was a little slow and it was a little cramped but other than that, this is a good place.

Look - New crockery and utensil. Nice!!!!

Still here and still the best noodles and dumplings. However after many years of eating Eden Noodle Dumplings I've found my new all time favourite... Beef Noodles. Try them some time... you'll love it!

Proudly present Sichuan style #wonton in hot and spicy sauce & #noodles in sweet and spicy sauce. #Sichuan food have long enjoyed a good reputation. As we are in the city, we decided to give Eden Noodles Cafe a try. It turned out to be a perfect decision! The wontons have soft skins yet the inside are firm and juicy; noodles are so so so so chewy and dipped with the tasty sauce. We think it's time for us to go Sichuan and have authentic local food there ;) Instagram: veryjinjing

First time here and I am impress! The food is delicious! At least what I got, but I'm sure everything else is just as good. I'm coming back here before I leave back to the States.

Sichuan native visiting Auckland from the US. Pretty good overall but definitely not a 5/5. Dan Dan noddle is 3/5 and not authentic, beef noodle is 4/5 but has sauce that apparently pre-made hotpot packages, spicy radish is a good add to keep it a healthy meal 4/5, my favorite was actually the black fungus appetizer- that's 5/5 very authentic Sichuan peppercorn flavor.

Came here hoping that it would live up to the rating of its previous reviews, and recommendations we had received from others. Not disappointed at all!!!Thought it may have been busier for a Saturday night but it was not so bad and we did manage to get a table. ( There was no queue out the door ).A little later though people were waiting. The menu has a good selection of dishes and reasonably priced too. From ordering to food on the table is quick. Chose the white fungi ( yinergeng , 银耳羹 ) , sauces chicken ( koushuiji , 口水鸡 ) , dandan noodle ( dandanmian , 担担面 ) and chinese pancake ( roujiamo , 肉夹馍 ) 。 All were delicious but the spicy dishes not as spicy as I thought they would be. Or maybe my tolerance to spicy food has increased over time!!!. All in all deserving of its high rating and definitely shouldn't be too long before we are back again.

Seems to be quite authentic which I find a bit challenging. Always busy though so I guess that's a good sign.

I normally don't like dumplings but the spicy sauce, which has a hint of sweetness, made it amazing!

Neon lights? Check. Cheap and delicious Asian-fusion food?…read moreCheck. Friendly service? Check. Unlimited corn chips and fizzy and closing time of 2am? Bonus. You will find all this and more at the newly opened Belly Worship, a Chinese-fusion style restaurant located on Dominion Road. On the menu, there are a range of dishes available - steamed and fried dumplings, taco buns, spicy pancakes, stir-fried noodles, chicken, pork, beef and tofu dishes. The restaurant is not licensed, but they do offer a self-service bar where you pay just $3 for unlimited soft drink, alongside popcorn, corn chips and pretzels. This is a great idea - something to snack on while you wait for the rest of your party. It is also self-service for plates, bowls, cutlery and added sauces. Between three of us, we ordered quite a feast: - Spinach Taco Bun with Pork Belly ($7) - Shrimp, Pork and Chive Dumplings ($12) - Litchi Pork ($9.90) - Spicy Pancake ($5), with Duck (+$8) - Bamboo Chicken Wings ($14) - KungFu Kebabs with Fish Tofu and Beef ($16) - Scallion Fried Broccoli ($14) - Coconut Rice ($3) We enjoyed every dish (except one, see below), with our favourites being their signature Litchi Pork - similar to sweet and sour pork, but a little less rich and accompanied by potatoes and whole litchi (lychees). Priced at $9.90, it is a steal! The Spicy Pancake was also a highlight - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. You can choose to have one of six fillings if you like (at an additional price) - we chose Duck. The pancake was huge, and with the extra duck and bean sprouts/slaw, this could be a meal in itself! It was also spicy, flavourful and the duck was cooked perfectly. We also liked the deliciously spiced and crispy Bamboo Chicken Wings, the arrival of the Shrimp, Pork and Chive Dumplings sizzling in the pan, the KungFu Kebabs with tender beef (not sure about the fish tofu), and our two side dishes, Scallion Fried Broccoli (YUM!) and Coconut Rice. The only dish we did not enjoy was the Spinach Taco Bun. Having read many great reviews, I had high hopes. Plus, the bun is green! (Thanks to the fresh spinach infused into the soft taco bun). However, we were super disappointed and left half of it. The bun was dry, the pork belly was dry and there was no flavourful sauce to tie all the ingredients together. Serving sizes for all dishes were plentiful and everything is reasonably priced. We also had more than enough to eat (for three) for lunch the following day. So, what did I think overall? Belly Worship is definitely worth checking out, for its cheap and cheerful menu, Instagram-worthy decor, and quirky self-service bar offering unlimited snacks and soft drink.. bring on the Fanta!!! [P.S. If you are Googling 'Belly Worship', make sure you put Dominion Road or Auckland too... otherwise you will be in for a surprise!]

Having lived for a long time in China I felt up to the task, but was not sure how a restaurant with a somewhat corny name would perform. On arrival I was put at ease by the exclusively Chinese clientele and the Mandarin-speaking young staff, who didn't bat an eye at my speaking with them in Chinese. Though there was no seating available in the main dining room, seats were available upstairs so we sent up there. Decor-wise, the place is a bit lacking, but in a way that adds to the atmosphere. The menu is the attraction anyway, and it is extensive. Since the chef is a member of China's Muslim minority Hui nationality, there is no pork on the menu, but there is lamb aplenty. And being a northern-style restaurant there are loads of wheat-based dishes (noodles and dumplings) rather than rice. Our order consisted of the following: an order of pan-fried lamb-fennel dumplings (羊肉茴香锅贴); cleaver-sliced noodles with beef (刀削牛肉面)); eggplant with garlic sauce (鱼香茄子); peanuts in vinegar (醋泡花生); and one each of the lamb and beef Chinese "burgers" (肉夹馍). We had hoped to order lamb kebabs as well, but they were out (and while I'd have loved to have had the chicken gizzard kebab, my friends insisted on no offal, and there is a minimum of five kebabs per order). The only slight disappointment was the beef "burger", since the meat was a bit dry, and the vinegar peanuts were not as punchy as I like, but the other dishes were spot-on. And the prices are very reasonable so you can afford to try new things without a budgetary concern.

The food is great - Black Chilli Prawns are a group favourite (if you have non-seafood eaters in your group, there is also Black Chilli Chicken which has the same seasoning). I'd also recommend the Green Beans with Beef /Chicken. But then the menu is so extensive, so who's stopping you. In my experience, we usually order [number-of-people-in-the-group] minus 1 dishes. This usually works out to be around $25-$30 pp. This isn't fine dining, no candlelit small hush-hush dinners.
