The care is top notch. The people are very kind very friendly. The food is above average, especially for a facility such as this. I was at one facility in Florida and could not eat any of the food. It was so bad. They really care about their patients here if I ever have to be at a place which I hope I never ever ever have to come again I would come here.

From the moment he arrived, the Heartwood owners and staff welcomed him as part of their family. We observe that they treat every resident with kindness, patience, dignity, and respect, and it is obvious that they genuinely care about the people who live here. Knowing that he is safe, comfortable, and well cared for gives us tremendous peace of mind. Heartwood is always clean, attractive, and inviting. Residents have access to several comfortable TV lounges with cozy furniture where they can visit family, relax, socialize, enjoy their favorite programs or nap. The beautiful outdoor garden is another wonderful feature, providing a peaceful place to walk, enjoy nature, or simply sit and visit with friends and family. They also have an adjacent facility for more advanced memory care when our ward needs it. What impresses us most is the personal attention each resident receives. The staff is attentive, compassionate, and responsive, and they do an excellent job communicating with families. Over the past two years, we have consistently seen a level of care that goes above and beyond our expectations. Although they state that their goal is to help find "good" places for elderly to live, the fact that they do not know the elderly they are "helping," and are very happy to facilitate their being moved around out of their familiar surroundings (without any concern that doing so can create confusion and anxiety for already-vulnerable people) illustrates the fallacy of that claim. Doing what really serves others is never easy; however, there are resources that can help you really find the appropriate questions and things that need to be considered to help elderly relatives without reverting to using uncaring strangers whose major goal is to serve as marketing voices for elderly facilities and who neither know nor care what the true needs of the individuals (as opposed to the business-minded facilities) are.

Our mother took a precipitous drop in her health two weeks ago. We contacted the HCA office as one of the providers we would consider for her hospice care. When we met with Alyse to both interview her and get a feel for how the organization does business, we were unanimous that HCA was the care provider we wanted for our mother. The office and in person experience was excellent. As to communication and care, I cannot say enough about the professionalism, compassion and consideration of both Alyse and our caregiver, Melissa. In the midst of a very difficult time and circumstance, they both elevated the level beyond the expectations of our family. Sadly, our mother died shortly after care was provided, but it was gratifying to have stellar care during her last days. Thank you so much for helping us and lovingly serving our mother.
