We've used Edgar's Moving Service twice and overall had a very positive experience. The first move was in September, when we moved out of our two-story, four-bedroom home. We split our belongings between a storage unit and a small apartment. Everything that went into storage was very well wrapped with paper and plastic, and we felt confident our items were protected. Edgar was very responsive and helpful throughout the process. The only downside was that the time estimate was significantly off--he estimated 8 hours with 4 men, but the move ended up taking about 14 hours. The second move was on New Year's Eve, when we moved everything from the storage unit and apartment into our new home. This time Edgar brought 6 movers, and the move took about 9 hours. This move went extremely smoothly. The crew was friendly, worked fast, and took great care to protect our floors and walls, especially when moving large items. **Update: Despite Edgar's comment, he is just putting on a public show. He has continuously read and refused to respond to my messages since 7/2. I moved on 6/26 and I began contacting him on 6/28 about the washer/dryer, and on 6/29 as I continued to unpack and find other issues. Yes I signed a waiver that acknowledged the condition of my items at the start of the move. You then move the items to the new home, do a physical walk through and generally say yeah everything looks good, which it did. Edgar did not damage any major furniture pieces. However, you do not unpack yourself upon arrival, boxes are dropped and you must open said boxes over the following days to find what else Edgar's damage did. I didn't see my broken bike in the garage until days later (we didn't do a physical walk through of the garage) and I hadn't yet realized items were completely missing as well. I was in contact with Edgar within days according to his policies. Yes, he has insurance, but he will not give you the information to the insurance or to make a claim. Screenshots of me specifically asking to use his insurance days before this review have been added. Edgar has read receipts on, it's very obvious he has no intention of resolving things with me. Edgar would like to pretend he wants to be helpful but the moment he can take advantage of you/the situation, he will. **Original post: I hired Edgar's team for my move at the end of June. I've hired many moving companies over the past decade, I've moved across the state, and this is the very first who has caused any damage to my belongings. I chose Edgar due to his advertised care of handling. He provides many safety wrappings and I was pleased to hear he provides floor protection. Overall the team was incredibly nice, respectful, and enjoyable to work with during the move. I don't disagree with the kind words others have shared, I truly thought these people were nice, but the final outcome was not expected. While Edgar does really safely wrap most things, he also goes a bit overboard and it greatly has an impact on time and budget since you pay hourly for his service. I had a really non-important, old cheap couch that I didn't want wrapped, and he spent about an hour wrapping it in such an unnecessary way that we actually had to partially unwrap it to get it out of the house. When resassembling furniture he got confused, lost parts, installed things incorrectly and I had to come in behind him and fix them with my own drill. It seemed like as he started to lose daylight, he saw the impact of his "care" and started to accidentally break things. Also in the rush, he kept a mirror of mine. He did not alert me he had it, I just told him I was missing an item and he later brought it back with no acknowledgement or apology as to why he still had some of my things. I have no idea what else I'm missing. The largest issue of all, was that Edgar is not educated in moving washers and dryers, specifically uninstalling them and them reinstalling them. However, he did not share that with me prior or during my move. By moving my machines he completely broke them and only afterwards in a meeting a few days after my move, did he admit he doesn't normally move washer/dryer and that he does not know how to install them. I wish I had known that, I would have hired someone who did. His lack of knowledge, and willingness to be honest, resulted in him forcing parts together, breaking/ruining them, and I now have a non working dryer. I tried to work with Edgar to resolve it, he originally agreed to pay for a third party to reinstall the machines after his handywork, but once the third party showed me all the damage Edgar had caused and that it couldn't be fixed within the estimated price, Edgar stopped responding to me and fully ghosted me. I suspect he knew what damage he created, he was not up front and honest with me about it, and he did what he could to exit the situation without full monetary compensation or resolution for the damage. It's too bad, they seemed like nice guys. My rating would have been wildly different had Edgar just been an honest man and fully resolved the damage to the dryer. read more

On all other house unfortunately this what I got you would think for the price you would get professional service. Unfortunately it wasn't worth the next day we found broken pole from the bed was broke and thrown in the corner. The back of the mirror that holds the mirror up from the night dresser was broke off. The screws from the refrigerator handles were missing, and there was various items that are missing, and we didn't notice until after the fact, we didn't see the truck so it could have been in the truck when they left things were thrown and broken. They were in moving bags, not garbage bags and everything was boxed and labeled. I asked them to put everything in order since boxes were labeled and who puts a refrigerator in the middle of the garage weights were put on items all over that garage. They covered up the water heater very dangerous and one guy was very lazy and said he did not want to be there. Thought that I didn't know Spanish. Nice guy but fairy check your stuff before he leaves honestly and get a written estimate because for a two bedroom it turned out to be 2000 and $300 when we were quoted 1500. We used Edgar's Moving services to help us move an hour and a half away. Initially he was very flexible, easy to work with, and kind. On moving day however it was a different story. He did not listen when we told him not to pack our sleep number until we got the caps for the air mattresses, because it can damage the bed. Instead of waiting he put duct tape over the hoses and moved the mattress to the truck anyway. When we asked him to bring it back in so we could fix it, he said it was too far in the truck. It was deflated by the time we got it to our storage unit and there was no way to inflate it and fix it. Additionally, he never looked up the moving address we gave him and didn't inform us that our stuff should be wrapped in different packaging to prevent dust and dirt while being stored. When we told him we could just have the larger items wrapped when we got to the storage unit the other mover with him tried to tell us that it would take too long and that was an extra service. We let him know that we paid a flat rate for the day and to wrap 9 items wouldn't add much time. He then tried to tell us again that it was an extra service and that any other company would charge us over $5,000 to move a one bedroom apartment an hour and half away. I've paid to have 4 people move out of a 3 bedroom house the same distance before and it wasn't even close to that. After they packed all of our stuff, they drove 45 minutes and stopped to take a lunch with our belongings at some location that was not given to us. Considering we took apart our bed frame and didn't have any other larger furniture that needed to be broken down, there was no reason to carelessly rush through our move. They also grabbed items that we asked them not to move because we needed them for the last few days we were in our apartment. read more
