I have nothing but appreciation for the staff. In addition to that, the food is really good and flavorful. I have two events here my first event was ok only problem was they already had decorations up for another event but my second event I was upset with my service was not good my guest was rushed there food would be throw away before they can finish the food was put away so fast it's like they was rushing everything because this a lot of my guest started leave think it was over we was supposed to have the place until 12 they had everything cleaned up by 9 the bartender was nice but stop servicing also the bride and groom was never service. also, we asked for a dark green decoration was not what ask for they said they had phone always seen like they wasn't not even listening. Terrible experience food was made way to early so everything was dry. Bartender was super nice server was rude. I plugged in my speaker it didn't go on. I said I believe it's your outlets constantly told me no. They let me is there speaker it was dead and wasn't charging because there outlets weren't working. The server was trying to blame me. Edgemont has been the host to many a family party for as long as I can remember. They are probably the best neighborhood spot to throw a party and still maintain some class. The hall itself is very beautiful without being tacky (I'm thinking Casbah). Their prices are very reasonable as well. My best friend's bridal shower was just hosted here, and everybody was very impressed with the food. In particular the penne pasta with seafood was delicious. The only negative thing I could think of would be the parking situation in Bridesburg. However, the Edgemont recently worked out an agreement with a local Church to provide more parking, and it is no longer a concern. Edgemont is the best local hall for any party or event. read more

Guests park on home owners pavements, urinate on people's walls, block traffic, park in people's driveways, goes against Covid regulations, horrible food, the list continues. People aren't paying over 200 thousand for homes around here to deal with this. The owner doesn't seem to care because she is not a resident of this block to deal with it. Had my sisters baby shower here on 7/8/2018 and it was simply fantastic. The staff was amazing, specifically Donna and Dante. They worked really hard to meet our every need. My guests raved about the food and the desserts were delicious and beautifully arranged. I was really delighted and am glad I picked this venue as it was very reasonably priced for everything that was included. Thank you all for a wonderful and memorable experience. This used to be a great place but since covid it has declined. Parties every Friday; Saturday and Sunday with no social distancing and no masks. Renting the hall to just anybody which resulted in a big commotion on Sunday 3/7/21. I will not support this business any longer cause it's destroying the neighborhood. read more

The hall worked for the theme of the party we went to; 1920's theme. The staff was nice but other than that nothing exciting. The food is your basic Hall food again nothing exciting. One thing they MUST MUST DO find a new bakery. They bakery they use is terrible. The birthday cake was suppose to be pound cake and it was more like just very very dry slices of cake; terrible absolutely terrible. The pastry table had the taste of the refrigerator. Had my wife's 35th Birthday Party there yesterday the 10th of Aug. 2012 . The staff was attentive, courteous, friendly and most of all Professional! The food was very tasteful and laid out nice. The Bartender was a nice guy who did flips & tricks with the bottles as he poured. (although the drinks could have been stronger. But hey! I'm a drinker, Lol!), he made mixed drinks without a problem. They also had a drink menu on the bar. The Bathrooms were dated, but very clean with plenty of towles, etc... Price wise we looked all over the city, 2 entrees,open bar, & cake you can't beat the price! The only problem some people may have is that you have to look for parking. I just read a review that was very similar to my experience. In total we have had 3 events at this location but will not be returning our business. The other two previous events we had years ago and were fine. But this one was one problem after another. We booked the hall six months in advance for a sweet 16. When we called in our head count 2 1/2 weeks before party one person quoted a bottom line amount, we then brought that amount $$in to pay off party 1 week before party. When we got there a different person said it was going to be $400 more for the same thing. Nothing like nickeling and diming right before a party when its too late to get out of it. We had a dj and Photo booth that did surround lighting. It was like pulling teeth to get her to dim lights in hall to accentuate this lighting system.... which she then turned back up gradually thinking we didnt notice. The food reminds you of tv dinners type quality (Ive actually had better tv dinners) The manager was also bartending that night (open bar consisted of 4 bottle of liquers, wine and beer) the bartender/manager walked away and left bar unattended for 15-20min while guests were waiting for drinks, as well as other times we were often looking around to see where she went. When it was time to sing happy birthday my daughter just pretended to blow out a candle because the manager said when asked "we dont supply the candle". Seriously¿ At the end of the night I asked for a trash bag to put my certerpiece decorations I brought (the bag I brought was ripped) they said they didnt have any...I insisted they must have one....and insisted (feeling absolutely ridiculous at this point) but they eventually brought me a trash bag, lucky me. I attended a wedding here. Wedding started at 7pm, I showed up at 630 so I could find my seating, mingle and get comfortable before the bride walked down the isle. Nope... when i and a bunch of other people arrived the staff made us wait in the lobby because the tables were not even set up yet. On top of that.... 7:03 came around and no one came to get us, it was us that needed to approach them. Bar was not open until after the ceremony- fine. But once I ordered a drink, I knew then it was going to be a rough night. The bartender was HORRIBLE. Older gentleman who didn't want to be there. Not only did he serve me diluted vodka and diluted cranberry juice.... he didn't give nearly enough ice, didn't add a straw to it and he didn't even have the energy to pick up my drinks from the mat and put them closer to my side of the bar. I had to reach over, grab my own straw and my own cocktail napkin. What the heck? It's a wedding, not the VFW. The drinks were horrible all night. Haha. I laughed when the bartender asked everyone to bring back their empty used glasses so he could refill them. The nerve. He also told my niece that "this is your last soda." I thought it was a joke. BRIDES DO NOT GET THE OPEN BAR BECAUSE THEY DILUTE EVERYTHING AND PROBABLY CHARGE REGULAR PRICE. Also I wouldn't pay for cash bar either. That's probably why they don't offer it. Because they're scamming the drinks. Next, the servers were rude and unhelpful. The hall was hot and when asked about the air, they said it's as high as it can go. So obviously it's broken. Brides!!! YOU WILL SWEAT TO DEATH! Ain't this some sh*t... the isle they leave for you to walk down, because they table had a horrible lay out, couldn't even fit 2 people walking side by side. That's fine for the wedding party but when you want to leave the hall as a married couple... you should be walking side by side. The bride couldn't even walk next to her father. It was weird. The 2 stars is for the food and the fact that they had valet parking. The food was decent; if you like quartered ham steak from the grocery store. Bagged ceaser salad. Raw roast. I did enjoy the fresh green beans and the vodka penne pasta. The desserts were majority boxed puddings and an array of stale desserts but only about 5-10 of each, so don't expect to try everything. Alright... I've gone on for long enough. I was just a guest at a wedding. I don't know how the business end was but I hope it wasn't too expensive because it wasn't worth it. Ps- the hall needs an update. The tapestries on the wall we're older and dustier than the bartender. Also, I dunno if I would trust the valet either.... I think I interrupted a make out session with them wreaking of weed. Oh yeah and the cake looked like something out of the 80s. One of the most special days of a mothers life is the day her child gets married. I believe it should be as stress free as possible, allowing the bride and groom to enjoy the moment. Although my son and my daughter in law enjoyed their reception, I was the one handling some of the behind the scene issues. 1st, we found out, a few days before the wedding, their ice machine was broken and we would now have to provide the ice. But I believe if your machine is broken, and you are usually responsible for providing the ice, why would the customer have to try and figure out how to get ice to the venue the day of the wedding; they would not allow us to bring the ice the day before. 2nd, the day of the wedding, when I arrived at the reception hall, I was informed it was our responsibility to provide the soap, paper towels, trash bags, and cups for the bar. WHAT??? I've been to tons of weddings in my life and never has the bride and groom been tasked with the duty of bringing those items; this should automatically be provide for all customers. 3rd, the owner stated, the day we booked the reception, that if they had not booked an earlier event, the decorator and caterers could begin setting up early. Well her early was 5:15 when the event started at 7. Lastly, they said the can seat up to 130, which was how many we had; however it was very cramped, the dance floor is way to small for 130, there's only one toilet for all those people, and the air conditioner sucked!! My sons wedding was beautiful despite everything, because a Mom will always take care of everything. So I suggest, if you use them, have no more than 100 guest, make sure you bring all the items mentioned above, make sure their ice machine is working, and make sure you have a mother who doesn't mind last minute stress. FYI, I think they gave us the BARE minimum because we decided to go with our own caterer; SMH!!! And I forgot, there was no parking!!! The parking was blocks away in a church parking lot. read more

Had my 30th Birthday party here yesterday and I first and foremost want to say the staff is very nice and considerate. Even when a glass cup broke accidentally or when I hung around to wait for my ride after the party ended, they didn't have a single bad thing to say and were completely courteous. The bartender had a lot of business throughout the evening and had a smile the whole time. I also want to say they're very affordable, it cost $25 a head for adults (minimum fifty adults) which included the cost of alcohol and a cake ($10 for children over three, free for children under). We had a dinner buffet and the hot food was generally good (turkey was very good) but people really enjoyed the sweet table with bite sized desserts and puddings. I think the variety of beverages was also greatly appreciated, as I said we had an open bar which cost an additional $5 a head and featured alcohol and soda, and there was also hot tea and coffee offered with flavored syrups for the coffee (Irish creme and so forth). The cake provided was interesting in that it was half chocolate and half vanilla but it was dry and the frosting had sugar that wasn't properly mixed in it. The DJ was nice and did a good job hosting the party, but being above the party made it challenging to contact her. She was also given a list of music to use but had difficulty getting a hold of the songs and only a small portion of requested music was played (generally dubstep was requested but was largely absent). It should be noted the DJ is paid separately from the bill for the caterer. read more

This past Saturday I had my baby shower at Edgemont Caterers and was completely dissatisfied. The parking situation was horrendous, granted its in a busy neighborhood but there should have been some type of staff outside to direct people. I had multiple guest tell me that the staff wasnt friendly when serving food, didnt smile or seem helpful. They were suppose to serve 1130-130, and for the last hour no one was behind the buffet to serve our guests. I had 4 guests approach my mother and father complaining that they were served spoiled curdled milk with their coffee, my parents were embarrassed and mad especially when the event was a per person/per plate charge. The staff refused to give my mom a wifi password so she could play some music on her ipad for guests. The pastries on the table were hard and old, i requested and paid to have fresh fruit on the table which was not. I had to ask for fresh fruit, which was finally brought out and it was cut up melon in a bowel nothing else like was described to me when picking the menu. At the end of the event my mother and I asked to speak to who was in charge of the event, after speaking with her she made us feel like nothing wrong happened and said nothing could be done because she wasn't the owner of the place and she would have her call us next week. For the amount of money my father paid for this event I was very unsatisfied with the staff and the food. I would never recommend this place, my baby shower was only a success because of my family who came and decorated for the event and made it perfect for me. Also the staff gave my family a hard time about coming early to set up for the event, stating they wouldn't have staff there 2 hours before the event started. We choose Edgemont caterers to celebrate my daughter's sweet 16, and I can't express how great of a job they did, from the setup to the food, cake and dessert table, everything was perfect. The bar tender was very friendly and very accommodating as well as the rest of the staff. We hired our own DJ and photographer and they were great as well. We had about 100 guests and not one had any complaints, everyone had a great time, we were very pleased with the outcome. read more

I had my wedding reception here last week. was told that the hall could hold up to 200 people, i had 156 people and there was NO ROOM at all to sit.... there was one bar tender and the line for a drink went all the way back onto the dance floor. Donna is rude, when i requested an additional bar tender, i was told a call was put in, which clearly wasnt because noone showed. I was contacted the night before and confirmed that i wanted ROUND tables, i show up to the reception and have RECTANGLE tables!!!! The kegs were not even on tap during cocktail hour... We had a baby shower at this location on Sunday, March 26, 2017. The place is beautiful and elegant. I had heard about this hall from friends and was not disappointed. The staff - servers, bartender and coat check were helpful and pleasant. The food was outstanding and received rave reviews from the attendees. We worked with Donna and she was detailed oriented and pleasant from start to finish - she is a true STAR. Dante was helpful with serving as well as helping us pack the vans with the gifts. The pricing was reasonable as well. I highly recommend this locale for any event. I would give this location a 10+!!!!!!! read more

Horrible for more than 100 people. I went to a wedding there. The bride and groom were told they can seat up to 200 people comfortably. Tables were practically on top of eachother. No room to move. Only one bartender was provided. Line was always long for a drink. Food was good, as for seating and space, there is no way they should say it holds 200 people. This place is an absolute joke. First and foremost, I can say that perhaps we made the mistake even thinking it was an option for a wedding. Cost was a huge factor and we had hosted several successful events prior so we thought it would be ok. There was such a lack of communication between the two owners. They were not cooperative at all. It was one headache after another. We would request one thing and get an answer only to receive different information a few days later. Planning a wedding is stressful enough without the added burden of a hall unwilling to work with us. They booked an event the day of the wedding and stated we couldn't set up any earlier than 5:00pm. The wedding started at 6:00pm. The DJ they recommended was awful. He did not play the songs requested and even proceeded to argue with the bride while she was hysterically crying in her wedding dress. The attitude from the owner was completely unprofessional. They were bothered by the things we brought it to be set up-the thing included-place card holders, center pieces, table numbers, favors and a frame for sign in. I am not sure what types of weddings they are used to hosting but these seemed like standard things you would see at a wedding. They told us they would move items used as wedding photo props (an arch made of silk flowers and an antique typewriter?) However, they refused to move any of it stating it was too heavy. They ordered the linen napkins in the wrong color. The food was horrendous. They served the bridal party roast beef soaked in brown gravy. We couldn't even cut it with the knife. The entire night was a nightmare. They told us the day before the wedding the bridal party could not fit at the head table so we had to make additional arrangements. The entire experience was disappointing and I will not even recommend them again. As I stated previously, we had hosted 4 events previously without any issues.
