Pete O.

Awesome gym. In town for a week visiting family and found Edgewater Fitness, $10/day for day rate which is reasonable compared to a lot of places these days. They have EVERYTHING you could want for free weights, weight machines, cardio equipment, and bunch of misc. I'd compare it to the Golds Gym I used to go to in Boston back in school, ie top notch! Ps plenty of parking, huge lot

There's one plate rack with about 150lbs of weight so I don't know how people can obey this sign

Often I hear from the stronger, fit members "you can do it" or "good job" or other words of encouragement. The fellow bootcampers are friendly and welcoming. Jacob organizes "challenges" sometimes you are working with a partner to encourage each other and other times. They last for about one month. Lots of fun and heathy prizes. The morning class is at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. We work out there all year round, sometimes on their deck overlooking the bay or on the beach or on rainy days under their building. I am not in shape but attending GroupFit I am getting there! If I miss a couple of classes Jacob checks in with me to ask "where you are and when are coming back?" There are all levels at the bootcamp and there is no embarrassment or shame if you are using 5 pound weights and the person next to you is using 25 pound weights. One negative- we have to do burpees during the workout but I am learning to do them well and I am getting into shape!

With this bootcamp every workout is different and the variety keeps me coming back. Jake is an excellent instructor and knows how to both push you but also provide positive feedback. The classes consist of all ages and body types and the exercises are designed in such a way that everyone can do them but you can really push yourself as well. Everyone that I have met in the class has been very supportive and welcoming. I highly recommend this class if you looking for a fun way to get stronger and slimmer.

I love coming here! I was considering other group exercise programs in the area, but I saw the…read morewebsite for FBBC and looked into it. I have also been a member at both major local gyms and I wasn't getting the motivation or results I needed. I am very happy I decided to give FBBC a try. The trainers and owner are all awesome, friendly, extremely knowledgable, empowering, and great role models. I feel like my body is being challenged with every workout, it never gets boring because everyday is different, I have the flexible schedule of classes a busy mom needs, I am motivated to come in everyday, I am not being judged by other gym members, I am getting in 30 minutes what I got at the regular gym in 1 hour, and I am feeling good about myself. I joined for the 21 day challenge, but I liked it so much that I decided to get a regular membership. The price is much less than other workout programs like this, the schedule is much better for times of classes than the local gyms, I can workout before my kids are awake in the am so I do not need to dress my kids for daycare and haul them with me, it only takes 30 minutes to burn between 350-450 calories (Monitored via FitBit), the trainers remember me and my name, everyone talks to each other and is friendly, there are no mirrors and you do not feel intimidated by the atmosphere or other members, and the atmosphere really is very welcoming and comfortable for women of all ages. A few men come here too, but the environment is different than other places and it feels non-judgmental, non-masculine, non-body builder/Bro-tein shake hangout, civilian friendly, and safe. If someone is grunting next to you during their workout, it is because they are getting their butt kicked in the workout not because they are getting their swell on in the mirror while admiring themself. I have a healing workplace injury, the trainers here work with me each class to modify and meet my needs. I feel that next to physical therapy, this is the best thing I have done for my body since being injured a year ago. The women in my classes range from young adult to older woman, so everyone can enjoy FBBC. They measure me, my weight, take my pictures, my BMI, and total body fat at regular intervals plus they give me access to Fit Client to track my progress. You sign up for classes and do everything on your computer, so no need to go in to change a payment method. The owner is setting up with the owner of another FBBC in Florida, for me to go to that gym while traveling. This is a really great option in SOMD that I highly recommend!

I used to hate exercising and the regular gyms were not motivating me nor pushing me to do more than I thought I was capable of. I ended up paying for months and never going. Sounds familiar? In one last ditch effort to get healthy and fit, I stepped into this place ( 3-day free trial). Its only a 30 min class of High Intensity Interval Training and I was hooked from the first day. What an incredible anti-depressant! Amazing coaches won't let you down, constantly vigilant that your form is correct so that you don't injure yourself. They walk around encouraging you to do one more or realize that the dumbell you are using is too light and at the same time understanding the modifications you need if you have any joint issues. I have bad knees. No twisting here. And they are always aware of what I need. A personal trainer in a group setting. I could never afford a daily coach at a regular gym but here I can have me trainer for around $6/day. Can't beat that!! Come in and try it. You have nothing to lose but fat! UPDATE: 8 months later- I am still here! Major record. So far let me give you one of the many results I have gotten from coming here. Over the weekend I hiked 6 miles and climbed 3 1/2. I mean really climb up and over rocks and boulders. Slide down some and leap from one to another. It was a steep incline all the way up to Old Rag Mountain in the Shenandoah National Park over 3000ft at the summit. I could have never done this had it not been for Fit Body Boot Camp and the coaches who helped me along. 9 months ago I could barely walk 1/2 mile without my back and feet hurting. And then I'd quit and plop on my couch. This place is the best decision I ever made for my health and ongoing fitness!

I wanted to give this a couple months before I posted a review…read more.. I found this gym after looking for something a bit more structured post-Covid. The regular peloton cardio and Planet Fitness just wasn't getting me where I wanna go. This place has been fantastic so far. As someone who has never really lifted weights, the trainers and owner has been fantastic at instructing the correct way to lift. They have two major programs as well as an open gym option. The programs are led by a trainer, one being team training, one being small group training. If you have not been working out lately, you will leave gassed. You will be sore. The workouts are about an hour long. I have been going about 3-4 days a week which has given me enough time to recover between workouts. Bring a towel and water bottle, my first workout was free. They do have shower facilities if you are coming from or going to work. And bonus... the showers are clean. The folks I have met here have been super friendly and welcoming. Ownership has also been very welcoming and motivating. If your looking for a new place to workout, definitely check these guys out... so far I am very happy I did...

I started in the Lean Down Challenge a 6 week program/20 lbs. I get to attend all the boot camps I want and have a small group personal training session once per week. I felt at ease as soon as I walked in the door. The boot camps are available daily. The trainers are extremely personable. I admit I love to hate them during my workouts but I feel so good a little bit after they end. Mac, Emily, and Bill are fantastic! I'm down 6 lbs, feel stronger and surprised myself by accomplishing some of the exercises I never thought I could do. I just started my 3rd week looking forward to meeting more goals I've set for myself. I've finally found a gym home. It's never too late to live your best life. I'm on my way!. Thanks guys!

***I would actually give it 3.5 stars***…read more Background: I work out about 6x/week and I'm a runner. I completed the 7 day free trial period with my friend and that's the basis for this review. Pros: -Great for people who enjoy working out in groups -Efficient 45 min workout -You sign up for classes via their dedicated app, then it can be added to the calendar in your phone -The raised padded floor is great for those of us with knee problems, it makes for a soft landing - they have child care -you can complete workouts from home video chat -they have women's only classes -unisex bathrooms with baby changing tables -they offer one-on-one support with nutrition (not sure how often) Cons: -Not so great for people who need more instruction because the class moves quickly -About 5-7 mins of the 45 mins is dedicated to warm-up and instructions, which makes for a short workout for some - The app doesn't tell you what the focus of the workout is going to be, so if you work out on your own you risk working on the same muscle group you already focused on by yourself -only class based workouts, no cardio machines, no time to stretch or do anything on your own -not open on Sundays -No locker room/showers Overall: This would make for a great secondary gym for someone who can't focus/doesn't have the motivation to complete HIIT workouts on their own (seeing as how there are plenty of free options online). It's a no frills, no thrills type of gym, get in, do your workout, and leave. They don't even have towels you can use. It's all about community here, so if that's what you're looking for, then this would be good for you. You must wear a face mask everywhere except while on the padded floor.

All levels are welcomed, everyone was nice and supportive. Meal plan is provided. I lost 3 pounds within the first week and it stayed the same, til i gained it all back the 4th week. Lol. That last week, i literally was at 3 different holiday parties with open bars, so that was my fault :) and i missed about 3/4 days of classes. A woman who started the challenge with me ended up losing 11 pounds. I can say that i didn't strictly stick to the meal plan, i often skipped dinner because i didn't like what was on the menu and didn't drink water as needed... so don't be like me lol. i can only speak for this location-- there are no showers and only 2 bathrooms for women and men. Also no changing rooms, altho you could change in the bathroom. The music was typically the same for each class. I would have preferred less of a rap mix and more 90s/2000 music, reggae, and/ or something to keep the classes moving and enjoyable to the ear. I would def. do another challenge in the near future!! Plenty of parking in front of the location. No water fountain per se (that you can bend over to drink), but bring a water bottle to be able to fill it up there. I think they also had $1 water bottles for sale in case you forgot to bring your own. You can weigh yourself at anytime with their scale. They ask for a $497, yes you read that right, deposit. They let you know that the money is refundable at the end of the six weeks or you can have it roll over for costs if you'd like to become a member. This a ridiculous amount of money! Especially for a "free" challenge. The lady giving the consultation explained that when the challenge was really completely free, yes you also read that right, people would come for a week and never show up again. I totally understand the frustration there but don't those type of losses or circumstances come with the service you offer? Yes people are going to fall off but that means that I have to pay $497 for a "free" challenge? I would've considered it if the cost was considerably lower but I just feel that the amount is absolutely ridiculous. The false advertisement is real, I won't even get into that aspect of it. The facility looked nice and the employees were very friendly. If you can look past shelling out $497 this might be the place for you.
