My issue was with the Anderson Lake Lodge where my family stayed for two nights between Christmas and New Years. The Lodge itself is very nice and a great place for entertaining. There were a few minor issues such as half the coffee maker not working and no heat in the clothes dryer. Don't where a good swimsuit in the hot tub as it will get bleached out and be careful because the controls are very worn. The big issue was mice. Our first morning there, I awoke to find food items left on the kitchen counter covered with holes and mouse poop. The bottom pan drawer next to the range has mouse poop in it. I actually saw a mouse in the basement both days, including the time it ran at my wife. I understand why mice would gravitate towards a remote home. What I don't understand is why there were no bait stations or traps anywhere to be found. The resort should have a professional exterminator regularly treat Anderson Lake Lodge so no one gets sick.

The condo was beautiful, except for the scary clown artwork. The condo seems to be a new build, with great appliances. The beds were comfortable and the condo was clean. Communication with Simple Life was good. I received several emails with instructions for check in, garbage service, and check out. The condo is centrally located in Door County. The indoor pool is nice but they seemed to be making improvements to the outdoor pool, which was closed. It claimed to have a fitness center but it only had 4 pieces of equipment. The only negative things I can say about the condo was that is wasn't stocked with many necessities. I would suggest bringing your own towels. We were given 6 for 7 people. We couldn't find any dish towels. They had plenty of dinnerware but the coffee cups were tiny( more like espresso cups, so bring your own). There is a limited amount of serving dishes. We were given two dishwasher pods and laundry pods( once again, bring your own) and one roll of paper towels. There's no Kleenex provided. So while the place is lovely, just know that you will have to bring in some items. And the previous guests left there garbage in the garage. I communicated this to Simple Life and they responded immediately. I didn't want to be blamed for that. Overall, this is a clean, comfortable, centrally located condo. We would stay again and use Simple Life in the future.

I even emailed the Event Coordinator Marie Fende and Event Manager Kayla Myers that we had been working with for the wedding over a week ago about these issues with no response from either of them. We were asked THREE days before our wedding to move where we had planned to have our reception since the resort was having a karaoke event in the bar near the reception room and they didn't want to figure out whose drinks should be free and who they needed to charge for. The chairs weren't set up for our ceremony so my husband started to do it in his tux, a bridesmaid found a staff member who said that this "wasn't his gig" and he needs to be working on the golf course (it's closed for the season) and not working on a wedding. Our cake and cupcakes were all thrown out by staff at the end of the night even though they were not asked to and they were on our personal trays we brought in. We also had two bottles of homemade moonshine in with our belongings that came up missing the next day. Staff yelled at our bridal party for my husband & I taking a golf cart that was supposed to have been left outside for us to make it easier to take pictures on their property, there was never an apology offered after they realized they were supposed to have one out for us. A bridesmaid and myself were unable to get into the space where we were having the reception the morning of and we were told by a front desk employee that housekeeping unlocks that but she had no way to contact them, but would tell them IF she saw them. Our officiant found bugs in his drink, when he told staff about it she replied with "Okay, do you want a new one or what?" Another relative, who I will admit was fairly intoxicated, walked up to the bar and said "I'll take whatever" to which the bartender responded "Oh I bet you fucking will." The 2nd bartender walked past my husband saying "I don't get paid enough for this shit." Almost all of our family members and guests told us that they had called several times leaving voicemails trying to reserve a room but no one ever called them back. One guest was told she needed to listen to the message a little bit better on when to call because it clearly states they're in the their winter hours and not always available to answer the phone, our guest was calling in early September when they were still open during regular hours. The shower nozzle in the "presidential suite" they gave us for the night didn't work, I basically had to splash myself with tub water to try to get clean. The venue is beautiful and we got a lot of amazing pictures, but to spend thousands of dollars and to be treated the way we were, I couldn't recommend anyone get married here, vacation here, or let alone eat here.

I think now it's the cleaning schedule they have for it Maybe to run in the middle of the night while you have renters. then the day we leave after going through thier check out list multiple times which is to basically clean the house for the house keepers so they dont have to pay them. they message us stating there was a dog there and we now owe them more money. I have picture, gps, and video proof all my animals were at home being cared for. if there was any dog hair from us it fell of our clothes and was absolutely minimal. we have huskies and st Bernard's they shed alot even with fresh cleaned clothes there is a small amount of hair on my clothes and we were there for a week. it is entirely possible a few dog hairs fell off our clothes but not nearly as much as my own post partum hair I bet. if you have animals I don't suggest staying with them or they will attempt to charge you more if they find a dog hair.

We loved having access to the rowboat, and the option to rent a trolling motor made getting out on the water even more enjoyable. In the evenings, the community fire pit was the perfect place to gather, relax, and make memories, with plenty of firewood generously supplied by the owner. What really made our stay special, though, was the incredible hospitality. The owners were so warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind, and their fluffy companion, Max, was the sweetest bonus! They have created a place where everyone feels welcome, comfortable, and able to truly slow down and enjoy their surroundings. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already looking forward to coming back. It was the perfect getaway and a wonderful place to make memories and revisit some old ones.
