This well company drilled my well about 4 years ago. During the summer of last year, (3 years after…read moreinstall) I noticed that there was a LOT of water accumulating about 15 feet downhill from the well. It continued down the incline and flooded my driveway made of millings causing quite a bit of damage, so I decided to dig a French drain system. I hand-dug around the well, about a foot down I could see water bubbling out whenever the well pump cycled. Shutting off the electric, I dug down to find the metal coupling/reducer that comes out of the well column and connects to the pipe that feeds the pressure tank in the house. Turning the electric back on and running the water, I could see water shooting from this connector. A LOT of water. So it became obvious why the yard and driveway were constantly flooded into a marsh like state. Called Smyrna well and explained the situation. He said he would come out two days later in the morning. When I called after he didn't show he said that they blew a hose on their digger and he needed to fix it. Long story short, I was blown off at least six times for various reasons and he would never show up as promised, nor call to explain why he didn't show and try to reschedule. I always had to chase him and try to get him to come out. I decided to hire a plumber that came on high recommendation. He was able to determine the problem just by looking at the part with the hole and the part exiting the well it was connected to. The part coming from the well was made of brass. The connecting part with the hole was made from galvanized steel. (see photo of part with hole caused by electrolysis) He said that a very basic rule in plumbing is to not connect two pieces of dissimilar metal as they will create a condition known as electrolysis which will eventually eat through the metal and cause a leak or total failure. Seems that galvanized was cheaper, so no thought was given to the headache it would cause the homeowner later. Very little consideration given to doing the job correctly, and even less to providing any form of after support. I gave the well company owner over a month to come by and fix this issue, and he never showed nor called to let me know the status of when he could come. After a month, I got tired of waiting and called a professional. If I ever have to drill a well again, I will use a company that knows not to use dissimilar metals and will guarantee and fix the work they performed. Disappointed isn't a strong enough word for what I'm feeling about this situation.

(Thinking shallow well/drought .. ypu name it.) After they came out and fixed one issue the owner contacted us later in the evening to ensure things were going well. When a few days later we were back to no water again, they again came out immediately. Our issue was... something. Lol. It Involved a lot of work to figure it out. And, it was all done to avoid a new well. (Process of elimination). My husband ended up helping the owner and his main man with lots of digging and tree removal, and they were extremely thankful. The three worked together so well and honestly, It was a beautiful thing to watch the three Sharing each others knowledge and strengths. Eventually, They were able to determine our issue and fix it. Their honesty is immeasurable, for they could have simply stated a new well was needed by this point. Again, the owner reached out to us a few times after the work was done to make sure all was still working correctly. These two were friendly, humorous, went above and beyond. Had a new home built and Mel's Wells was hired to install a new well. Upon watching them install…read morethe well I noticed they were going shallow with the well, roughly 30'. I explained to Mel that the other well on this property as well as the neighbors had to go deeper in order to find good water without iron and other contaminants. While talking with Mel I was pretty much given minimal attention and a type of disregard and was explained that the water at 30' was just as good as deeper and that because of expense a deeper well wouldn't be installed. So now fast forward to the past year and I have water that turns brown when washing clothes with detergent, pool water from the well that turns brown when chlorine shock is applied and now have to pay for a deeper well to be drilled. If Mel would had at least listened to me and went deeper while he was here and I explained the situation to him about all the wells in this area maybe my water would be able to be used for washing clothes, drinking etc. Instead however I was brushed off and honestly Mel had a abrupt, rude attitude. I would not recommend him to anyone for a residential well because he only comes to do the bare minimum apparently regardless of water quality. I even had my water tested by the state of Delaware to confirm the continents. Mel's wells is a big NOPE for me!

Middletown well drillers has hired to come to my property and fix my well they came out on March…read more28th and started the job which left me without water was supposed to come back the next day there was no sign of them at the property I tried several times to call I even said text messages when no response finally I called from a different number and Dave answered the phone told me to call back in 1 hour and he would have a date that he would come out and finish the job then he asked me if I could find someone to get the pump out of the well because it was stuck I asked him how come he didn't come pull the pump out of the well never got a response so I had to find someone to come pull the pump out of the well which cost me $300 and even after that I couldn't get Dave to come out and do the job finally on April 12th he came out and finally finished the job he started it wish now left me without running water for 2 weeks I found Dave to be very unprofessional it was the worst customer service I've ever had even when I went to pay him for the job which she quoted me at$1,800 now jumped up to $2,300 because he said I had to pay him for his travel time so when I went to write the check to Middletown well drillers he said no because that would have to give half to his ex-wife so I had to write it out to him I would never deal with this company again. Please share this with everyone out there so people could be aware of this company Dave should have never started a job he didn't want to finish and people need to be aware and cautious of this company
