We have had a Culligan water softener since our house was built in 2005. We also have a contract Which we rarely use. My husband and I are not in the best of health and until a few years ago he could handle lugging the salt bags down and filling up our tank. Okay so last week I called and said I needed the bags brought down which nobody rang the bell for a few weeks ago. Plus I needed the filter changed(which I had a replacement filter for here). So he changed the filter and yes it needed changing BUT I was charged an extra $35 this month on our contract. I know for a fact this has been done at least once before when my husband was sick and no extra charge. I guess I misunderstood what the service contract covers and will be cancelling shortly. Less expensive to take a chance on it breaking down and I will get someone else to bring us salt bags. read more

I inquired over the Internet with Culligan about a water treatment system for my new home. I was forwarded to Sharp Water Culligan out of Dover, DE and these guys were great! I spoke with a office personnel and they scheduled Chris to visit my home to test our water to see how and if it needed to be treated. He spent a good deal of time at my home explaining the different issues you could have with well water (I have never owned a home with a well) and he presented my options and did not try the typical upsell that you find with water treatment companies. I saw numerous videos on YouTube on how water treatment companies take advantage of homeowners and intentionally modify the tests to sell you a more expensive system. I met with one other organization that also tested my water and gave me similar findings. Culligan had the system installed within 3 business days and the installer was polite and efficient. He explained how the system worked and showed me how to maintain the unit. I would recommend this organization to any of my friends/family. read more

Bought system in 2012 ish Initial selling and Install was great. Then comes the maintenance plan where they deliver your salt, put the salt in check the system etc....I finally quit the maintenance plan because the salt deliveries never happened on time, or at all 0 they would say the rang the doorbell which was a lie, but they would leave a note on the door "Sorry we missed you...." Cancelled 2014ish Fast forward to this year - I need all the filters changed and figure I may as well have someone check the system. Which was a good thing as the pump was going bad. Warranty replacement. Didn't not have that part or the membrane filter on the truck. Installers were great - on time and professional. Maybe the service has changed? They inform me Culligan will call and schedule a follow up call. Got the bill, but no follow up call. So I call to make an appointment. Set up a time on Thursday - whomever the service person was left a note on the door, but did not ring the doorbell. I literally watched from my office (I was on the phone) as the person left my front door. I thought it was just a delivery person. I go down after my call to see what packages were there - white "Sorry we missed you" placard. Ok fine. I call Culligan to make another appointment. We will have someone out there next Thursday. Fine, can do with out the drinking water spigot for another week I suppose. SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN! Tech just put a thing on the door! I thought I saw someone, but it was my daughter in law grabbing the trash cans. That is when I saw the placard. And then I saw red. I called the service department and talked with someone who was adamant the tech rang the doorbell - I replied no way, I would have heard it and my dog would have gone nuts. I then go and test the doorbell - dog goes nuts. I ask my DiL and she confirms that the only time the dog went nuts is when I rang the doorbell. Called the support people again and was told "We can get someone out there Monday" to which I said nay nay, today or tomorrow at the latest.....the tech came out at 4pm and spent the 20 minutes needed to fix the problem. Long story short, the hardware is fine, the regular maintenance/service is absolutely terrible. Would not recommend Culligan based on the level of service. Wouldn't use them at all, but need their filters to make my water right. read more

Brian, the service tech, performed a routine maintenance inspection. He called to give me 15 minute notice that he would arrive and did so punctually. He tested the water, inspected the charcoal filter and softener and explained the functioning of both very clearly. He made recommendations about vacation settings and frequency of filter changes. He was very knowledgable for having worked at Culligan for only 7 months, and was very friendly and courteous. read more

Love the water softener and reverse osmosis unit. No qualms with the product. Customer service needs definite improvement! Recently scheduled our 1 year checkup and filter change and was given a 4 hour window. I took 1/2 a day off of work. Technician never showed up. I called the office after 3 1/2 hours to inquire and was told it is just "a window", not a definite time block. Never told that when making the appt. Office was able to call the technician who apparently got tied up on the job before ours. They didn't think to call and tell us they were running behind? Inconsiderate to say the least and they seemed indifferent that it was a problem or inconvenience. Who has time to sit around for HOURS waiting for service when an appointment was set up and confirmed? read more

I have to give credit where credit is due. While I have had my issues with availability of service over the last 20 years, Culligan really went out of its way to accommodate me earlier this week. As luck would have it, my water treatment system started leaking the previous weekend. I called for service and Amos said they were booked until the first week of October. I explained the house was sold and I had to be out on 9/28 and I could not leave with it leaking. They were able to squeeze me in on the 9/25 and were even early. I can't thank them enough for the help!!!! read more
