Women, please be careful!!! During my dress fitting, I had to lower the top of my dress so the tailor could properly pin the bodice. While doing so, he reached out and deliberately grabbed my bare breast. There was absolutely no reason for him to touch me that way as part of the fitting. This was not an accidental brush or incidental contact. I had to physically move his hand away from my body. I went in expecting a professional fitting and instead left feeling violated and shaken. In my experience, his conduct crossed a serious boundary, and I would never return or recommend him to anyone. I came in just before closing time and needed my full length, multi-layered, sequined dress shortened for a wedding in one week. Little did I know my pickup date was prom day, so he was already extremely busy. They were so kind. My dress was ready when promised and fit perfectly. I was charged $120 and no add-on "rush" fee. They will overcharge$$$ you for really POOR SLOPPY RUSHED ALTERATIONS. I gave them 3 chances because the man is so sweet. But they are into quantity, not quality and every single time I got my stuff back it was all sewn very sloppily and not what I asked for. His wife is grumpy and tries to charge an extra $5 here and there hoping you won't notice. They also take a very long time because they try to take on too many orders and he's super spaced out- they clearly need a break because we are so disappointed with the work we got back from them. I'll let you decide. Two months ago I took a wool coat to EDH Alterations. I wanted them to put some material on the collar so the wool would not itch on my neck. Several weeks later he called me to ask what I wanted him to do with the jacket. He said he would have it finished in a couple of weeks. I went in a month ago, they said it still wasn't finished, he claimed he was having trouble finding a piece of dark blue material. I went in today, over two months ago, to pick the completed coat up. The man there stated the coat wasn't done yet. After going back to his work area, he comes out with a piece of dark blue material, it was wool. I reminded him the whole purpose of the alteration was to cover the collar so the wool wouldn't itch my neck. read more

4/29/2022: I dropped off my black fleece jacket with an YKK twenty-five inch zipper I purchased via Amazon needing replacing the zipper and a green, polyester dress I bought while living in South Korea, needing new elastic shirring for the bodice; I was informed both jacket and dress would be completed in two weeks. 5/16/2022: I arrived two weeks later only discovering neither the jacket nor the dress weren't done or even touched; I stated I'll return calling before arriving. 6/1/2022: Finally, the black jacket needing the zipper replacement was replaced; however, the green dress wasn't completed! 6/30/2022: I called~the green dress wasn't completed; called 7/1/2022, the lady answered the phone but, stated calling later! 7/2/2022: Updating review for this business . . . Upon calling the Tailor confirming the green dress was completed, I promptly drove from Placerville to his EDH tailor shop. First, he wanted charging me $60.00 for installing the elastic bodice shirring but, I retorted, "I submitted my dress and jacket in April 2022 and you're demanding I pay $60.00 when you FINALLY finished repairing my dress today, JULY 2, 2022???? That's over THREE MONTHS!!!!" The Tailor replied, "Okay, okay~$45.00." But, he began complaining the elastic was expensive; however, I retorted, "You made me wait three months and MY TIME AND GAS DRIVING TO YOUR SHOP FOUR TIMES is more expensive than the price you paid for the elastic repairing my green dress!!!!" Still, I did tip him $5.00: Why did I tip him? Because I want him understanding I'm a compassionate human being. read more

The owner is very nice and is always friendly. We have been using EDH Custom Tailoring for over 15 years. The reason for 2 stars is that the husband quoted me a discounted $20 (normally $25) each for 6 items since we are long time customers. When my husband picked up the alterations, his wife charged $20 for 4 items and $30 for 2 which I was told normally would cost $25, but the husband said that he would only charge me $20. My husband questioned her charges, but she just shook her head while talking to husband in their language. Best suggestion is to get cost itemized for each piece in writing when you drop of your clothing so there is no surprise. The extra cost is not what bothers me, but the feeling that the wife gets annoyed at the husband for giving a discount so she upcharged us. That's just wrong. read more

I can't comment on pricing, but it seems to be broadly in line with other tailors I have used in the past. I needed to have some jackets and pants altered. The gentlemen who I assumed run the place greeted me as I walked in and we got straight to work after explaining what I needed. He took his time to get all proper alteration measurements and was fun and engaging the entire time. We talked about a pickup date and made sure it would work, I gave a week window which he could accommodate. I called the day before our agreed pickup date to verify that my items would be completed by the promised timeframe, and he said the clothes were ready now so I could pick them up at my earliest convenience which was a pleasant surprise. I believe this place would be great if they didn't take on so much work. Nice people but they couldn't get my wedding dress done on the date I was told it would be done. I came in on a Friday and the dress still wasn't done. I told him everything that needed to be fixed and he said no problem we'll have it done on Monday. I come in on Monday and he has a look of panic on his face. He asks me to come back on Tuesday which I wasn't available so he said come back around 5pm and we'll have it done. I show up at 5pm and the dress still isn't done. I waited 40mins. While I was waiting, another customer comes in and says Jawid said he could fix her hair extension by tomorrow before 2:30pm. Jawid's wife gets upset because he's too busy. Another customer comes in and Jawid's wife is complaining to her that he takes on too much work and he can't keep doing this. They also couldn't find her two clothing items so they eventually asked her to go to the back to help look for them. I have holes/rips in my wedding dress and I asked him to fix one of my straps 3 times because it was too tight. The same strap broke during my wedding ceremony!! They are also really expensive. I paid $1,000 for my alterations just for my wedding dress to not be perfect. Very disappointing. I left after the 40mins because I was so over dealing with them. Maybe if they didn't take on so much work they would be better but I will not going back to them. read more

I took my wedding dress in to get fitted. The tailor recommended alterations I didn't need, and then didn't give me a quote. I called over a week later to find a quote of $450 dollars. I took my dress someplace else and payed $65 for the alterations that were actually needed, and my dress turned out perfect. I would suggest going elsewhere. I'm sure he does a good job, as the place was hopping when I visited, but unless you spent over $1,000 dollars on your dress, I would suggest going somewhere else. read more

Unfortunately my experience was not at all what I hoped for. I received no call back to let me know how much the alterations were going to be BEFORE he started altering the WEDDING dress. Then I confront him on it and he does not take responsibility for it. Better to own up to a mistake then to try and justify and reason. My advice to anyone doing business with him is get a price quote before he starts on the alterations so you're not strong armed into paying way more then you thought. He wanted to charge $800 when I only paid $500 for the wedding dress. Unethical, lack of communication and dishonesty in business is disheartening. read more
