I went for the poblano chile, which was absolutely delicious--perfectly stuffed with great texture and draped in a red sauce that made me want to lick the plate (I refrained, but barely). My husband ordered the tacos al pastor on blue corn tortillas with avocado crema, and based on the speed at which they disappeared, I'd say they were a hit. The rice side dish was so good we were both fighting over the last bites--who knew rice could cause marital discord? Drinks were on point too. He enjoyed his beer, and I was living my best life with a spicy margarita rimmed with tajin. Chef's kiss. The space itself is absolutely beautiful, and our server was amazing--attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. We're already planning our next visit. Bandoleros, we'll be back!

We started at a table in the middle of the room then ordered enough food that the waitress recommended us getting a bigger table. Very happy with that suggestion and our night.

Our server took about 10 minutes to come over, but he brought our drinks out fast. We both ordered the Ceviche Campechano, which was good -- I've had other ceviches that packed more lemon and cilantro flavor, but this one still hit the spot. It came with saladita crackers, which felt weird at first, but ended up working really well. The service went downhill from there, though. It took forever for our server to check on us after the food came. Eventually, I noticed he was also bartending, which explained a lot. The place got packed while we were there, and drink orders were nonstop. He didn't come back, and I had to flag someone else down to ask for him, but he still never came. We decided to share dessert and got the churros with vanilla ice cream. The portion was good for sharing, but the churros were hard as a rock and impossible to eat. The ice cream was okay, nothing special. We asked for the check as soon as the dessert came because, at that point, we knew it'd take another 20 minutes to get it, and we were right. The whole thing ended up taking about 3.5 hours, which was way too long for what it was. It was hard to hear each other as the pace kept getting packed and the music was getting louder. Parking is decent. Street parking is free after 6 pm (Monday-Saturday), and I think they have a small lot behind the restaurant, but I've never used it. Honestly, the food was good, but the slow service and crazy wait times really ruined the night. I get that they were busy and understaffed, but it still shouldn't have taken that long. Not sure if I'd go back anytime soon.

Tastes watered down. REGARDLESS, ALL THE STARS IN THE WORLD for their drinks. The peach shaken ice tea and raspberry rose teas have every complex note they describe. I'm jaded by all the fruity drinks/tea blends out there that are just too sweet and artificial. Nan's makes it perfectly. The white peach actually shines through, which is rare in my experience. The raspberry is REAL. Speaking as someone who enjoys artificial raspberry flavors of jam donuts and bottled ice tea...idk if Nan's makes it for real, but, if so, you can taste it! You still taste the tea, the fruits, the florals, it's not watered down, and best of all--not overtly sweet. Their fruit drinks have the perfect balance. It's genuinely refreshing and delicious. I find myself craving their teas all the time!!

**We found our new favorite spot!**…read more My partner and I stumbled upon Nan's Kitchen and what a delightful discovery it was! As first-timers, we were treated with such warmth and patience by the staff - no pressure, no rush, just genuine hospitality that made us feel right at home. We started by sharing the hatch chili farro bowl with roasted cauliflower and hominy, fragrant ginger carrots, and lemon mustard salmon. The tomato harissa sauce and zhoug were absolutely incredible - seriously, these sauces are to die for! Everything was perfectly seasoned and the flavors were so well-balanced. Pictures are not perfect, but the lighting was so warm and comfortable, you will have to excuse them! Halfway through our meal, I spotted they had coconut carrot soup with chickpeas and ginger on the menu and literally ran back to order a cup. We ended up sharing that too, and it was such a smart move - the soup was aromatic and comforting with just the right amount of spice from the ginger. To drink, we had fresh lemonade and iced tea (both perfectly refreshing), and couldn't resist finishing with their banana pudding, which was the perfect sweet ending to an amazing meal. What really stood out beyond the exceptional food was how accommodating and friendly the service was. They made splitting dishes feel completely natural and were so welcoming when I dashed back for that soup! The attention to flavor and seasoning here is remarkable - every single component of our meal was thoughtfully prepared. We're already planning our next visit. Nan's Kitchen has absolutely earned a permanent spot on our regular rotation! Highly recommend for anyone looking for fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared food with service that makes you feel like family.

We used to love going here, especially for their chips & salsa and their big portion of good food. But recent visits have been disappointing. One or two years ago, they drastically reduced their soup sizes and increased the price. There was a time when a cup of soup was a good light lunch. But lately it's not even the quantity of an appetizer. A small cup of soup for $12 is too much for a family restaurant. And the worst part recently is that they started serving store-bought chips and a replacement for their yummy habanero salsa. The new green salsa is nothing close to the old favorite. I think restaurants are forgetting in the cost-cutting game that they're losing their identity. I used to tell my friends you should try these restaurants, they have the best salsa. And if I want to eat store-bought chips, why bother coming to restaurants? I can just buy them from Costco and have food at home. I wish they could bring back the good quantity of soups, chips, and salsa. I miss the old Casablanca.
