The check-in experience was rough. You have to leave your car and go inside to get a parking pass,…read morewhich puts you in a tough spot with kids. Do you leave them in the car? Bring them inside? And if you bring them inside, do you also haul your bags up to the room first, then walk everyone back down to the car? If you were a single parent with multiple kids, this would be a nightmare. On top of that, the lines were extremely long, and the self check-in software doesn't make it easy to buy multiple parking passes or extra waterpark passes. For those, you need a staff member to come help you. We were lucky to get Benny. Honestly, I would hire him at my agency in a heartbeat. His customer service was incredible, and he was an excellent problem solver. The hotel is lucky to have him. The room itself was beautiful and clean. No complaints there at all. The kids loved it, and so did I. The arcade, on the other hand, was wildly overpriced. A bouncy ball that costs $5 in the gift shop made zero sense to charge what they did. They also don't offer room service for food, which felt like a miss. One thing I noticed was how on edge the staff seemed. When I asked a few of them about it, they consistently said it was because they were being watched on camera. That's never a good sign for any organization. It took away from the customer service experience and made interactions feel less personable and way more corporate. The nighttime dance party was a blast for the kids. They had so much fun. My one concern as a parent was how close it was to the hotel's front doors. Someone could feasibly walk in, grab a kid, and walk right back out. A kid could also wander out on their own. If you're paying attention as a parent, it's not really an issue, but it's worth noting. Still, highly recommended. The waterpark was an absolute blast. There were plenty of lifeguards, and the staff did a great job keeping the kids safe. It was overcrowded though, with long lines for the waterslides, but that's pretty standard for any waterpark. The best part was that they let me ride the tube slides with my four-year-old and set us up in a really safe way. That created core memories for both of us. Highly recommended. Overall, this was an amazing staycation!

Overall, I spent close to $2,000 during our three-day trip, including Great Wolf Lodge and other…read moreactivities around Bloomington. I know not all of that money was spent at the lodge, but considering what we did spend there, I expected a much better experience. This was our first time visiting Great Wolf Lodge, so we were really excited. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to the expectations. We rented a $200 cabana, and the service was disappointing. Our server only checked on us once for a long time. We asked for a TV remote and a life jacket for our son, and she said she would find someone to help, but no one ever came back. I eventually had to walk over to the bar myself because several employees were just standing around. What really stood out was that the service noticeably improved after we tipped her. It felt like we only started getting good service after leaving a tip, which shouldn't be the case when you're already paying extra for a premium cabana. We also ate at Campfire Kitchen, and that was another letdown. We ordered the Jalapeño Popper Mac & Cheese. Based on the menu picture, it looked like it came with multiple jalapeño poppers, but our meal came with just one. Calling it "Jalapeño Popper Mac & Cheese" when it includes a single jalapeño popper is misleading. On top of that, the mac and cheese itself wasn't good. The cheese sauce was thin and watery, practically dripping off the noodles. Honestly, boxed mac and cheese tastes better. We spent about $133 on that meal, and it definitely wasn't worth the price. Another issue was our room. We asked for a fan because it was warm. We were told a request had been put in, but after calling multiple times and even messaging Willow, the AI assistant, nothing happened. We didn't receive a fan until the third night. I would love to see Great Wolf Lodge make this right. A partial refund, a complimentary future stay, or even a food voucher would show that they stand behind the guest experience. I'm not expecting that to happen, but I do hope management takes this feedback seriously, especially since this was our first visit. Great Wolf Lodge has fun attractions for kids, but the customer service, food quality, and attention to guests didn't match the prices. For what we spent at the resort, I expected a much better experience, especially for our first time visiting.

This was my first visit for the purpose of volunteering at USA Swimming Junior National Championship. Parking can be a challenge for visitors. There is a nearby parking garage and very limited surface spaces. The area around the pool was clean. The building although dated to possibly the 70's is in great condition. The majority of the facility is the competition pool used by the University of Minnesota Swim team. The facility is nicely maintained. However, faculty and students can use the pool. The Olympic size competition pool is 50 meters with movable bulkhead, platform diving and well. The aquatic complex consist of approximately 145,000 gallons of swimming capability. The Long Course pool has eight lanes for competition.. The spectator area is expansive and spans the entire length of both sides of the pool and well. The public locker room area is large and pretty clean. There were two malfunctioning items. Great facility and hope to return for another event in the near future.

This is a great center, until it's not. I go almost every single day. I've only ever had an issue twice. The problem is that they have almost no one to address issues. it could be as simple as asking patrons to follow the policy. member services apparently isn't allowed to do this. So, by the time a manager comes, the patrons violating the policy have caught on that you're complaining, and they run away. Then you're told, well they're gone now so....and if you don't accept their answer to basically deal with policy violations and move then why have the policy in the first place. You're even told to ignore those who were giving you a hard time and not following the rules and told "you could just go to another machine" I guess that's true if that wasn't my last one. I was then told, "well there's one other one on the third floor." Suddenly, it became a discussion of buts and should haves and not addressing my concern at all. It's so exhausting as a patron to be put down when I literally just wanted to use a machine when they were basically not using it and reserving it as a group. Only after it was escalated to higher up individuals (beyond - to reiterate - beyond the basic building manager - was my issue at least somewhat addressed. Again, almost always there is no issue, but when there is you won't get much help. I was berated, had eyes rolled at me, and other odd responses. What did they want me to do, escalate the situation with the patrons not allowing me to use an open machine? The reason I'm giving it one star is that this lack of basic support could be a safety issue at some point and demonstrates a weak infrastructure to enforce their own rules.

Dear Municipal Pool,…read more Thank you. I love you. See you next year. XOXO, Katherine B What is it that you want from your public pool? I want a fairly cheap entry fee and lots of seating and a decent sized pool. That's all. Highland has this, and more! Parking, shade, a decent bathroom and concessions. You can bring your own food in. Plenty of space for the little ones to play in the two small pools/splash pads. A good diving board for the bigger kids. (The drop slides aren't really drop slides per se, and they are best for shorter kids) A big water slide...that's truly only ok but who cares. A HUGE POOL. With a HUGE DEEP END. No lifejackets in the deep end, and still a large area where your tweens+ can easily touch. Bring a pool friendly throwing item. (no nerf, just light weight stuff that won't hurt if you get bonked. The lifeguards will tell you)

The splash pad stays open if you get too hot or for it the little ones that can't sit still for very long! (Like my son lol). Come early if you want a foldable chair for sun bathing, the place fills up very quick, but there's always usually some room in the back grassy area for you to lay down a towel and cozy up with a good book. If you get hungry, run to the snack bar and they've got multiple options for hot dog toppings and even a meal deal with chips and a drink! The staff are always so kind and they also have life jacket rentals for FREE! (with admission) We will absolutely be spending more hot summer days here!

I suppose if you line up to get in before they open you could find shaded spots.
