It took me a long time to consider LASIK for 2 reasons: 1. Laser beams and eyeballs, and I was pretty sure I wouldn't make it through that. 2. There are so many LASIK places, how do you find one where they actually know what they're doing and aren't just trying to make money off of you? So, I asked my eye doctor for a recommendation and learned about Dr. Keith Carlson (Claris). I was prepared to get a 2nd or 3rd opinion, but when I showed up at the office, the staff were so nice (all of them), and Dr. Carlson was so approachable, knowledgeable, realistic, and experienced - and the price was on-point compared to other places, that I decided to just go with Claris. And I was fully satisfied. Long story short, because of the strength of my distance vision prescription, my option was LASEK - the option with a little different approach and a little longer healing time. Dr. Carlson was VERY helpful in talking about options, because I also am starting to need bifocals (what?). He's a smart, straightforward guy, and I learned to just trust his recommendations. Here I am now, with 20/20 distance vision, and no need for cheaters to look at my phone. And working on my computer and reading my orchestra music with no problem. So, go do it! Absolutely life-changing. And the laser thing is absolutely not at all as bad as you think it will be. Dr. Carlson and all the Claris staff, thank you!!!!!

I went to MN Eye Consultants because my Dad was a patient and he only saw the best doctors. I have…read morenow spent multiple hours, phone calls and emails trying to a) understand what lenses to choose for cataract surgery and b) to nail down what all of the costs will be. The first person I worked with on this did not have all the answers and sent me to other departments. I've left messages, got return calls instead of answers, have unanswered emails and still don't have a complete picture. Based on how frustrating this has been, I do not plan to schedule surgery here and now have to start all over to find an eye clinic.

All while repeating that she's been a doctor for "35 years." I left with no instructions, she provided me nothing and my eye has gotten worse, I've been a nurse nearly 20 and have never encountered a physician that talks about herself more. She lioves to talk about her "accomplishments," l but treats patients, most importantly, children terribly. Bottom line is don't see her.

At each clinic I was happy with either the doctor, the support staff, or eye glass selection but never all of those things until my appointment with Savage Family Eye Clinic. Easy to make an online appointment! Dr. King spent as much time as I needed talking to me about my vision and answering all my questions. She was amazing! Wendy helped me pick out glasses as I never can find any I like. With her help I had over 5 that I really liked! She was so patient and great at giving advise and suggestions! When it came to deciding on features for my glasses she gave me honest opinions and suggestions not the most expensive. I really felt she was working to get me what I needed and not trying to sell the most expensive products! She spent time figuring out the most cost effective options that worked with my insurance without compromising the quality I needed. She ran numbers various ways to give me clear options. I left this office feeling great and excited! I am happy to say I finally found an eye clinic that offers top service by the doctor, support staff, eye glass selection, and my eye glass cost was less than I paid at the last clinic for glasses I really like! I first walked in last Friday thinking that possibly they would be able to do a walk-in, but they…read moredon't do that. So I looked over their glasses selection found a pair I liked and then put in my information and got an appointment scheduled. Today when I walked in, everything was easy and went very well. I'm a type two diabetic and they were able to help check me for eye issues for that. I think the whole situation probably only took about 45 minutes. The only thing I can say bad about them is that the intake form that I filled out online wasn't necessarily working well when it came to taking my insurance card. But other than that, the staff was wonderful and the whole overall look of the office was nice and immaculate.
