I came in with high hopes -- little did I know it would take almost 3 months to finally get my glasses. It started with my prescription needing to be adjusted, and the optometrist was incredibly condescending throughout the process. At first, Nikki was kind and said they'd remake the lenses with the new prescription. Weeks later, the lenses came back -- but with the old prescription. They remade them again, this time with the correct prescription, but then the frames broke, so they had to reorder them. When the new frames arrived, they were different from the original ones I chose. When I pointed this out, they insisted it was the same model and that the manufacturer "must have changed them." Instead of apologizing, they said they'd see which frames fit my lenses -- as if I should just accept whatever worked. By this point, I'd been back multiple times, only because of their repeated mistakes, yet they treated me like I was the problem. It wasn't until I insisted on a refund that they finally agreed to make another pair in the correct frames. This entire process was an absolute nightmare -- disorganized, rude, and completely lacking accountability. Steer clear. read more

I was referred to EyeStyles by a friend after developing an eye infection. It was out of the way, but I was desperate for a solution. I am thrilled I made the decision to go! When I arrived I felt like I walked into somewhere special. The decor in the store is amazing! Colorful and funky, yet not so where I felt uncomfortable or not cool enough to be there. There are also beautiful paintings throughout the store that added to its charm. Then all the glasses! Whoa! So much fun! I was greeted by Nikki who instantly not only made me feel welcome, but also appreciated that I chose EyeStyles. She didn't hover or make me feel pressured in any way. She felt like an old friend who genuinely cared about my health. I met with the optometrist, Dr. Mabie. She made me feel very comfortable. She is straightforward and bright, explaining what she was doing through the process. Through my exam and a follow up visit, it was discovered I needed glasses! Nikki was fantastic during this process. She had SO MUCH patience with me trying on a million pairs, and also gave me honest feedback when I asked for her opinion. She even let me try her frames on! Wow! She helped me select a frame I love from LA Eyeworks. It was the first time I found a pair of glasses I felt so confident to wear! I love how they look and am proud to wear them. I do not have anything negative to say about my experience at EyeStyles. They are incredible and I will return in the future. Please go check it out! The coolest people at any optometry shop, anywhere, ever ... in my experience! I gave up on Pearle Vision after visiting two shops. My insurance will only pay for this local brand of glasses called Eye Kraft, run by people who don't know how to spell simple words. The folks at the first Pearle Vision were nice and helpful, but their selection of Eye Kraft frames was ridiculously small and there was nothing appealing in the box. They looked like glasses that the geeky, unpopular children wore to school and birthday parties when you were in the 6th grade. But still, the woman at Pearle Vision brought out the box of Eye Kraft frames from some hidden location, as if it were a box of old toys her Great Aunt Florence had bequeathed to the family and no one in the shop really knew what to do with the collection. If Eye Kraft makes such quality frames, why are they not on display with the other brands, basking in the florescent light next to Calvin Klein and Vera Bradley? It is such a drag when a customer service person gives off this vibe of: These frames are not as cool as the ones you see on the racks when you walk into our High Coterie Shop for Elegant and Sophisticated People with Real Jobs and Real Insurance (trademark). At the Pearle Vision in Edina, the woman seemed to have some mental health problems. And she didn't seem to understand half of what I was saying, and she was rude. I mentioned a news piece on 60 Minutes about why eye glass frames are so expensive (A near monopoly held by one company, no matter what brand name you see on the frames.). She shrieked, "Well, if you saw it on 60 Minutes, it must be true!" I was wondering how she managed to get a job in customer service. The rain ends and the sunshine appears: Going to EyeStyles was well worth the drive! Nikki runs the shop, with Rita, her assistant. They are both super nice ladies. The shop has the usual rows of glasses, plus shelves with gift shop, touristy items, which gives the place a special charm. It is pleasantly unlike any optometry shop I have ever visited. I was worried that Nikki would rush me through the whole process because my insurance would only pay for low cost frames made by Norwegian, living-on-the-prairie farmers in Saint Cloud. I was delightfully surprised! She showed me the Eye Kraft frames she had, plus other ones she could order through the catalog. She had an extensive palette of helpful details at her command. She was magnificently knowledgeable. And she was so cheerful! Which was especially welcome after two fails with Pearle Vision. She told me about an upcoming sale and she showed me a few of their high end frames. The prices were beyond what I would pay for glasses, but still, it was nice to get out of the Eye Kraft box, and it was nice of Nikki to give me so much time and attention. She talked me into plastic frames, instead of my usual metal frames. I was smart enough to listen to her. These plastic frames are ** SO LIGHT **! And they don't have the two pads pressing on my nose, as metal frames do. When the glasses arrived, she even bent the end of the left temple piece a little more because my right ear is slightly farther back than my left ear. This way the glasses fit me better. Wow, talk about superb customer service! Out of all the optometry shops I have ever visited, no one else even noticed this. So when you need glasses, go to EyeStyles. You will get superb customer service, and the best glasses your insurance or your budget can afford! And if your insurance will only pay for bottom of the barrel glasses, Nikki and Rita will still treat you like a real person! read more

What a great experience! It was definitely worth the drive from Minneapolis and I wasn't the only one who found them today. I received amazing service picking out new frames and my progressive lens where priced very reasonably for a very high quality. I never felt rushed and even at the last minute they were able to make a new suggestion that allowed me to order the frame I really loved. Their frames are very nice and cutting edge without the crazy high prices I was finding in Minneapolis. Felt very supported and am very glad I kept searching instead of settling somewhere else for what I was only trying to make work. I have been an EyeStyles customer for years now. I was drawn to this location originally because I was trying to find the nearest Etnia Barcelona retailer near Woodbury. Here's the deal - I am an Etnia brand loyalist, and have purchased several different styles, all from this store. That said, what truly brings me back here time and time again is the awesomeness of the owner, Nikki. She is like going shopping with a friend - she'll give you honest feedback, and really puts you into styles that look great. Additionally, her customer service goes above and beyond. Just today - I came in with some Etnia frames that I had purchased in April. They had a part that needed to be repaired (which would be covered under warranty). Well - the style had been discontinued, and therefore the part was unavailable. Nikki to the rescue! She pulled a similar style from her in-store selection, and swapped out the temples so that I could stay in my Etnia frames that I LOVE (& would be so sad to say goodbye to). Can't say enough great things about this little gem of a store. Go - and be amazed! read more

I have worn glasses for 28 years. I have gone to the private glasses shop as well as the big box stores for quicker service and I have NEVER gotten the welcome, the service or the quality and selection that I received when I went to EyeStyles. Nikki works hard to get to know you and your lifestyle and fit you with glasses appropriately. After a car accident this spring damaged a pair of glasses I had gotten at EyeStyles, Nikki informed me that they were still on warranty (I didn't know such a thing existed for eyeglasses!). I dropped them off on Tuesday, and got a call on Friday that they were back and fixed already! LOVE EYESTYLES! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Eyestyles. Last fall I was told that my 10 month old son would need glasses, and after calling several places (including the big retail outfits) I found that Eyestyles was the only business in the area that carried glasses for small children. Since then we have made many trips to repair pieces on the glasses and have always been treated very kindly and told the repairs would be fixed under a warranty. Nikki has always been very welcoming each time we come in and works very hard, including navigating complicated insurance issues. I ended up breaking my glasses last weekend (I am blind without them). I looked up the closest place to me on Saturday and gave them a call. EyeStyles was able to get me in that day. I needed a new prescription anyways; they gave me a great deal so I could get some new glasses. On top of that they let me borrow some frames while I am waiting for my new glasses to arrive. I will never go to another optometrist again. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and they have an awesome selection of frames. read more
