Each table had a table cloth laid out. The layout was great as it wasn't too crowded for people to walk and there wasn't much room between the tables but I didn't have anyone using the beside me so it worked out. They also had a table on the side with water jugs and glasses. Other times I've been, they've had round tables in this big room and rectangle tables around for the food and drinks. I saw in the other smaller room, people organizing and decorating for a Halloween party. It would be fun! The washrooms are just outside the rooms and the ladies' room was large with lots of stalls. It was nice and clean. There was parking on the street in front of the centre and across the street there was lots of parking in the lot. Decent venue to hold a meeting or work event.

Max capacity would be 240, but it would hold about 140 with a large dance floor. The bar is attached to the barn with a grain bin which is so cool as it doesn't look like a grain bin! The owners, Chris and Jeff, have put their heart and soul into making it a success and it shows. There are packages if you're looking for a wedding venue, Christmas party venue, or just need a larger area to throw your event. They have also partnered with the Wyndham Garden (8016 Sparrow Drive in Leduc) for not only special room rates, but also shuttle service. The outdoor cement pad has two nice wood burning stoves which are nice if you want to be outside and it's a bit chilly. They also have the option of a portable bar outside as well. The owners are super friendly and very accommodating so make sure to give them a call to book your tour of their venue!

In my and my husbands opinion Whitewood Barn is the perfect wedding venue for a rustic chic type of couple. Chris and her family we're very accommodating and provided great recommendations such as our photographer @pinkskyphotography and Ryan at RAD Media. They made our day feel special and when it unexpectedly fell cold, they made our guests feel at home and cozy with our homemade cider. They went to great lengths to ensure everything ran on time and to make sure my husband didn't see me until I walked down the isle. From helping me "fluff" my dress to my liking and making sure the groomsmen put the boutonnières on properly they were there every step of the way to make our day perfect. When we signed the agreement and made the deposit, it was very clear that it was non refundable, which we were completely fine with! This is how businesses survive! Ensuring they have profit to keep up with the maintenance of this beautiful venue. If it was easy everyone would have a whitewood barn. Due to the unfortunate COVID-19 pandemic, I can see how some people may be frustrated about not getting their money back. However, knowing Chris I can guarantee she has been trying her best to make accommodations based on the available dates. Please don't forget that behind these venues there are families that are trying to desperately keep their businesses intact! So please be kind and support this venue.

Last night, I was able to see a different side of Mirage Banquet in a memorial event for a local fighter. The Mirage donated the room AND the catering for everyone and the silent auction that night. That kind of generosity and community support is commendable and I just wanted to make sure my review reflected that. The decor was classy. Crisp, clean linens, quality centrepieces, great lighting and quality sound. And the food. The catering was amazing. Hot, delicious selection. Roast potatoes, coconut fish, chicken parm, tender and rare prime rib, salad, flavourful gravy and a mushroom Alfredo pasta that was to die for. The catering and service staff were ON IT. Food was instantly whisked in and empty trays traded out so no one in line had to wait for a buffet selection. Tables were bussed of dirty dishes quicky and quietly. I definitely would book with the Mirage for the room and even for the catering for an outside event. (which they do!)

We walk in to a beautifully decorated banquet hall ready to seat 800+ people. Being dressed as I was in a button down shirt and jeans I suddenly felt like I should have been in a suit and tie. In the end however everyone was extremely friendly and talkative. This was a very well organized event where they had about 20 different companies celebrate their corporate Christmas party as a very fanciful event without needing 200+ people from their own business. There was a great buffet banquet and a comedy show that was followed by a dance that lasted till 1 am. This was a great way for a smaller business to show of their appreciation for their employees and have a great time. I would highly recommend this venue for any event that you are planning for your business.

There was a centrepiece and items on the table, and also decorations hanging on the side walls. The tables weren't set up right to the stage to leave room for those who wanted to dance to get up close to the band. The 2 bars had line ups but it was easy to buy drink tickets and line up. The ladies' selling the tickets were nice and I asked if they had a tip jar but she didn't have one. They also had food set up with pizza, I think chicken too, chips, and chocolate bars. We were seated almost aligned with the doors and could see the band on the stage pretty well. There was an aisle so lots of people walking by but it wasn't bothersome. The sound was decent for the hall too. Decent venue for events and would be happy to be back for more parties!

I am quite happy that that happened and the area outside the event space was beautiful and well lit while we awaited the event. I liked seeing some of the more historic building touches as we awaited the event (for example the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II).
