Some of the best memories when I lived in Edmonton were spent playing squash with Brian Wolfman.

I came here last week for the first time to attend my husband's 25th high school reunion. There was ample parking - always good for a large group! Especially when many people will struggle with just walking upright by the end ;-) The space we had the reunion in was open with vaulted ceilings with a large balcony. The washrooms were also clean the entire night - bonus! The staff (food/liquor) were friendly and easy to find. We had both chef stations (sautéed giant shrimp on bruschetta were my fave) and hor d'oeuvres throughout the evening. We ordered a bottle of champagne to share with our table and the bartender came over to serve it to us and offered to keep it on ice at his station. Without even asking, he would reappear silently to refill our glasses. I wish I had asked his name because he was phenomenal! My only complaint was the lack of seating and volume of the dj/band but I'm guessing those were both choices by the reunion committee. I'm definitely looking forward to the next time I have an event here or any reason to come back and check 'em out. read more

Was brought here with my daughter as a guest by a relative so we could enjoy a swim. The pool area is just fantastic. Like a large indoor greenhouse lots of natural N Alberta light coming through was a great way to relax and get the legs and arms moving. Too bad the kids pool was under renovation but we went back and forth from the hot tub to the main pool. Surrounding the pool area are lots of lounging sofa chair and great places I'd read a book in winter and relax at the club. Also there was the bar and restaurant area on the mezzanine where you could catch a snack or lunch and watch the action. Pool temperature was very comfortable and probably 86-88F. Lifeguards on duty walked around making sure everyone was safe. After the swim I went up to the cafeteria to grab a snack for my daughter and was able to see some of the various dining facilities here. Overall I'd definitely look at membership if I was a resident of the area. Clubs like these are a great way to enjoy life, get active and hob nob with friends. read more

My husband and I became members here last summer and Im really glad we did! The facility is great boasting of an indoor tennis court, outdoor tennis court, badminton court, racket ball/ squash courts, ping pong area, indoor lane pool/kiddie pool/hot tub, gymnastics area, games area, hockey rink, masseur, full gym with areas for specialty classes(barre class, spin, yoga), cafeteria, bar/lounge, patio restaurant, formal restaurant, and an area to eat and drink that over looks the pool.(great for wintertime when you want to feel like you're somewhere warm). They offer private lessons to brush up on your skills as well as weekly classes and activities for adults and kids. The ladies bathroom/change room is great! It has all the amenities you need to shower and get ready after a sweaty workout (shampoo, cond, lotion, soap, hair dryer, straightener, hair spray etc). It also has a whirlpool and steam room which I love! Anytime we've eaten there it's been consistently good and the service staff is always excellent. Even if you're not a member I recommend going in for a meal, especially on Sunday for their brunch buffet! Seriously the Sunday brunch buffet is amazing!! Freshly made to order omelettes, eggs Benedict (veggie option), bacon, sausage, potatoes, pancakes and much more. They also have lunch type options like a salad bar with king crab legs, mussels and seared ahi tuna. They have fresh fruit and freshly squeezed juice and your meal comes with a free mimosa. For dessert they have a variety of pastries and cakes and even macaroons. Overall an excellent facility and community of people - great place for couples and families and even singles. read more

I was actually pretty surprised by the Royal Glenora club. I have heard from friends for years how expensive it is to have a membership and how ritzy it is. We attended a charity fundraiser last night and found the building to actually be in need of much renovations. It looked like a really old, outdated building. Even the lawns looked dead in large patches. There were both pros and cons. The view from the patio was awesome. The service was very good. The food (although I'm not certain if it was catered) was delicious. I guess hearing how expensive it was to be a member I thought all that money would have put back into keeping the building looking like a million bucks. read more

I attended an evening event here and had a lovely time. The room was upstairs and the staff person on the main floor directed people where to go. We had a room that fit about 8-9 tables and the buffet line near the entrance to the room. The bar and dessert table was also in the same area and it could get congested if everyone was wanting food or drink but good thing it was spaced out. We had access to the patio and it was nice. It was a bright and little windy but everyone seemed to enjoy being out and didn't want to go inside for dinner. The food was a good selection is salads, cold meats, steamed vegetables, roasted potatoes, roast chicken, and beef. I enjoyed the vegetables and chicken and didn't try the beef. I can't comment on the taste of the desserts but they did have fresh fruit, carrot cake, and a few other cakes. There was a step that could be used for a stage and could accommodate about 5-6 chairs. There's also a podium and a screen in the middle for a presentation. The room was a little cramped but not too bad. The washrooms were just outside of the room and only 3 stalls for the women's. Wouldn't complain if I had another event to attend here. read more

I went here with my mom to have brunch, everything was simply amazing the eggs Benedict, the carving station,the mimosa I had with it all, and especially the desserts. The staff was all amazing always making sure to keep our drinks full and clear away the empty plates when we were done. I've been to the Royal Glenora Club a number of times over the years, always for meetings and banquets. Lately, I've been attending luncheons on a weekly basis because I'm a member of a business networking group that meets there. The food isn't always amazing, but it's definitely always good, with lots of variety. We typically do buffets, and the people at RGC are always changing things up so we're kept interested. Their staff are well-trained and unassuming. They come in and clear up plates without disrupting the meeting, and whenever we've had an issue, they've always been very attentive. My only complaints about the RGC is that sometimes parking can be a challenge, but it so rarely is that it doesn't have a huge impact on their overall image. Which is A-OK! read more

I brought my family here for Brunch on Sunday and it was awesome! Great service at our table; we had a member who was allergic to certain foods and the chef personally walked through the brunch items with her telling her what she can and cannot have. He even told her some things about different foods she didn't realize had her allergic items in them. They started you off with Coffee; tea or Juice and kept our cups and glasses full throughout the Brunch. Even removing our buffet plate shortly after we were done with it. The staff on hand were very professional and did a great job. Everyone was so full however the desert table called our names! From Crème Brule to cut fruit; it was all very good food. The Sunday Brunch at the RGC is the best in the city! The different offerings at the buffet are incredible. From classic eggs Benedict, to Crab legs, shrimp, and creme brule, it is all such a treat. The Staff are super friendly and accommodating. Each time I have gone to the brunch it has been fantastic. Highly recommend. read more

Can not say to much about this business,shortly after they took over the memberships from the edmonton petroleum club. I quite driving by the place. Alway found someone there would be looking for a boost or looking for a ride someplace. Even turned down a position with the business. When they hosted the xmas party for the edmonton petroleum club, found the food interesting. read more

Many people might not be aware but the dinning room is open public for lunch defginetly worth a stop. They have yet to disappoint me with thier lunch special. read more

We held a 50th birthday party this past weekend with over 60 guests. There were many moving parts and a wide range of ages to cater to. Adora, Moen and Peter were the RG co-ordinators that evening and did a super job helping with the set up, moving tables around, finding cords and clean up / tear down at the end. The servers and bar tenders were efficient and had prepared well for the crowd. The food was delicious as numerous guests raved about the 'satisfying' appetizer choice on the menu. Cynthia the catering manager/co-ordinator was excellent to work with and had provided all the info well in advance for planning. I highly recommend the team and the venue for future events/parties. At only 3000+/yr and only 10000 signup, you can become part of a club consisting of the douchiest members of Edmonton! This membership includes a free monocle which must be worn at all times while at the facility. It is also a requirement that your nose be held up in the air, as to look down on the peasants who cannot afford the facility. There is a reason this facility is in the deepest valley in Edmonton; the area is the moistest which is required for these slugs to slurm around as they try to climb on top of each other for superiority. Of course, this is an impossible feat, as there is always a bigger fish in the sea. Come, be part of the soap opera that is the Royal Glenora, where people stab each other in the back, belittle others, and are generally scum of the Earth. Amazing location, more than fair pricing, and kind staff. It was extremely easy to book our event for 60 people here. All of the food was prepared perfectly and all of the things we needed for presentations was provided. The booking process was incredibly smooth and easy. I hosted my husband's 50th Surprise Birthday Party at the RGC and was so glad I did! Cynthia was so helpful and suggestive throughout the booking and menu process and the night of, Peter was incredibly accommodating to my requests! It was a fantastic night - stress free - everyone had a great time - the food was excellent! Everything was taken care of for me so all I had to do was mingle and celebrate!! I attended a Christmas party here with our group from the Rosslyn Hotel. We had a separate room for our party and joined the Sunday brunch for our food. I will say that the food here is excellent. The problem was the Host who supervised our group in our room. He was overbearing and controlling with the drinks and rude about it. There was orange juice and champagne set out on a drinks table in our room and when I went to pour myself one the Host told me the waitress would get it for me. I sat down and I did not receive my drink. I sat for a few minutes and waited and waited. I returned to the drinks table and noticed the samosa that was ready and took it myself. At my table I complained to the Host that I could not taste any champagne in my drink. He said I had to wait because he was pouring coffee for the rest of the group. The way he said it made me feel like a kid asking for chocolate milk at an adult party. I guess I was a nuisance. So I returned to the drinks table a little ticked off and added my own champagne to the juice. Later another guest at my table watched as the waitress was making another samosa and after the waitress had filled the glass half with orange juice, the obnoxious Host instructed her to fill the glass with more juice and then he proceeded to top it off with a smidgen of champagne. The Host was the same with the Bailey's - he went around the room in a very controlling manner with the Bailey's. Good gosh if its that big a deal I will make my own samosas and have my Bailey's at home. But I was there hoping to enjoy drinks with friends. This was not a welcoming event because of this Host. I should have guessed how it would go because when I first arrived the Host asked me if I was with the "Rose-Lynn" group. Our hotel is pronounced "Ross - Lynn". This was the second time we had a Christmas party there. You would think the Host would bother to know who we were and how to pronounce the name. I really expected more from the Royal Glenora. I hope we can go somewhere else for next year's Christmas party. read more
