If you're thinking about taking a class here - DO IT!! I just can't say enough good things about my…read moreexperience here - From the break room to the staff and teachers - top notch! Drastically improved my skills - worth every penny! Last month I took the Adobe Premiere Pro Bootcamp with Kristian Gabriel - AMAZING CLASS! Highly recommend if you're doing any work in Premiere Pro - and Kristian even touches a little on Photoshop, After Effects & Illustrator too. The bootcamp definitely kicked my video editing skills up several notches! I wish I had taken the class much sooner haha! That being said, I'm glad I had already worked with Premiere Pro bc the bootcamp made a lot more sense. The software can be complicated, especially if you're just starting out, and the bootcamp moves fast...so it can be hard to keep up. BUT Training Connection gives you one free repeat!! You can come back and take the same class again once more - how awesome is that?? Kristian is an absolutely FANTASTIC teacher!! He's professional, passionate, extremely knowledgeable, patient, kind and caring - his expertise is impressive! He knows Adobe inside and out. I would happily take any of his classes again and definitely plan to take the After Effects and Illustrator classes in the future. The building is great also - the suite is sleek and always clean. They have high tech equipment in the classrooms - all their computers are fast Apples. Even the break room has a very fancy coffee machine offering all sorts of lattes and such. And all the rooms have lovely views of DTLA. Very nice facility. The prices for their classes are extremely reasonable considering the value of the lectures and the fact that they let you do one free retake. There are tons of eateries and cafes and food courts nearby so lunch is fun everyday! You can park in their underground lot but it's expensive at $35 a day. However, there's lots of security and it felt very safe, clean and convenient. I took the metro gold line the first two days and actually got urinated on by a vagrant the second morning - so I didn't hesitate to pay for parking after that lol. There's a cheaper lot around the corner but no security so be aware.

I heard about General Assembly classes because they list them on Facebook and it popped up in my…read morefeed as a targeted ad. I'm glad for this as that is how I signed up for a free 2-hour introductory class to coding. The class covered HTML and CSS and was designed to just a quick intro to see if you would be interested in taking a full class. Still I was surprised how much I learned in just a free intro course. Our instructor Allie covered a ton of theory so we understood the big picture and how the different developer languages (HTML, CSS and Javascript) played different roles. Much of the class was her guiding us through actually creating a mock webpage by immediately applying the coding principles and info she taught. I highly recommend bringing your computer for the hands-on portion. Also, Allie listed additional resources for us to explore on our own time, and we were promised the slide deck after. Being totally new to coding, I was able to take what I learned from the intro class and actually fix an issue THE NEXT DAY on the website that I manage for work! I rely on website templates but don't understand the HTML and CSS behind it so I was able to override the template that doesn't even allow me to change font attributes on hyperlinked text. Once you sign up for a class they send you promo emails with discounts, so I will probably look into taking a more full class. TIP: this is located right in the heart of Little Tokyo so there is plenty of sushi, ramen and snack options available before or after going to class here.

I have mixed feelings about GA…read more Pros: 1. This is one of the few places left where you can get actual, in-person instruction. If you're one who can't stick to learning on your own online, face-to-face instruction is the way to go. 2. I also like that they offer a wide variety of topics from web development and digital marketing to project management, sales pitching, and communication skills. 3. The instructors I've had so far have been knowledgeable and nice. 4. They have many free talks in the evenings, sometimes even with free nibbles. I attended one on the art of sales pitching. I think it was called something like "How to Sell Anything to Anyone." The speaker was excellent, and he gave really good tips. 5. The DTLA location has convenient parking ($5 evenings and wknds) at Joe's Garage a few doors down. I also like that you can enjoy the many Little Tokyo restaurants before or after class :) Cons: 1. Cost. If you want to take their multi-day courses, expect to pay $$$. That's what you gotta expect for in-person classes from a private school. I'd love to take more classes, but I can't be spending more thousands of dollars. Yes, they have a payment plan, but you still gotta pay them back. 2. If you're looking to start a new career, don't expect to be "career ready" after you've spent all that money. The classes don't go into much depth. They're more of an overview, just enough to get you started. Then comes the hard part - studying on your own by following all the blogs and video content out there. THAT takes discipline, and nobody can help you there. I wish knowledge could just be implanted in my brain without my having to exert effort. Just being honest. 3. They never answer the phone. The only way to get a response is via email. If you're on your way to an evening or weekend class and need to reach someone, you won't get a response if it's outside normal business hours. Conclusion: If you're disciplined and highly motivated, save your money and take advantage of the overwhelming number of free resources online. But if you're a lazy a-hole like me and you're willing to spend some serious money, take a GA course to at least get you started and pointed in the right direction.

These guys single handedly inspire me to get better and better in the every challenging and changing entertainment field. Go just take a tour of this place and be amazed at all the work Scott and Dave have put into it. It's really remarkable and cool that you can come to a school that offers so much under one roof without all the pressure and BS most of these huge film schools put on you. Not only that, but for a fraction of the cost, I've not seen any other school that offers this in the LA area. A lot of them have folded and Sharp Focus has been around weathering the storm and providing hands-on practice for students in a small boutique environment at practically cost. You'd be a fool in the industry to not at least stop here and admire all the options and flexibility Scott and Dave provide to students. Seriously compare what you get here versus other schools and a great channel to network for jobs in many different fields. It's a small ask to say no to student loan debt... There are really some good people in the entertainment field not out to screw you - this place is a diamond in the rough.

I believe that the instructors, staff, and administrators are very good, and that they care about the students. This is the type of school that is worth tax payer dollars, if we are going to pay for anything, it should be helping those who are underserved, and underrepresented, continue and complete their education, and get stable careers. This is the type of school that changes lives for the better, and builds better communities, helps families be more stable, and is ultimately a help to the world. I just wish they had more art and design based tech classes, graphic design, auto-cad, architecture courses etc, I would definitely take those courses, but that's a very small gripe. Anyway, thanks to the team for all that you do! Keep up the good work.

Knowledgeable, supportive, and invested in her students success. The program is fast paced, but it covers a wide range of skills, including vital signs, EKGs, venipuncture, injections, patient care, and safety procedures. One of the biggest advantages is that the school is tuition-free, although students are responsible for purchasing their own materials. The school does offer financial assistance through other programs such as Work Source & Para Los Niños so if you're struggling financially do not be discouraged to apply! The medical assistant program also includes clinical hours, which provide valuable hands on experience in a real world setting. I graduated in 2021 and passed on my first try thanks to the help of the team Judy, Dolores , Chris , Luis the instructors. So to say the owner does not want the instructors there that is a lie she has classes every day of the week barbers from Monday to Thursday day and night! and estheticians also. Followed by nail techs in the weekends. Shout out to Susana another instructor. Very wonderful people!! So please don't degrade MY SCHOOL that I once was part of. Everyone works hard especially teaching adults and if teaching kids is hard imagine teaching adults that think they know everything like my self. I was not east to be around and I still got through it. And I also complained Bt I'm only one out of hundreds of students that come year after year. That is not easy. God Bless teachers in general i wanted to enroll in the cosmetology program Bt the teacher moved so I can't blame ZMS if it is hard to find good barbers in a barbershop I bet finding an instructor for a school is even harder especially if your going to dedicate years to one job and dealing with mean students like myself. So enough about me! Let me address the KAREN in the room......Monique E. Shame on you whomever you are (must be a fake profile) I'm no judge Bt you certainly act like one.
