Went for a tour for the infant room and was not very pleased. All cribs are cramped and it smells like very funky. The person giving your and head teacher were sociable. The assistants were in floor during nap time and not very welcoming. Which is ok... but I didn't like how right it was with cribs everywhere. I truly can't say enough great things about marigold academy (formerly education station) in Bloomfield. It is such a special, well-rounded daycare with amazing, caring staff, exceptional + big outdoor playground space/toys, and tons of learning and toys inside. I was absolutely blown away with how much my child learned there and felt it was the perfect mix of play + lots of educational learning. My child absolutely thrived at marigold academy and we were SO sad to leave due to moving out of town. The child to teacher ratios are also amazing and small- much better than most other daycares. The staff does so many fun things to keep kids smiling and having fun such as weekly music class, holiday decorations and music, yoga, outdoor play, water play in the summer, etc. I love this place and recommend it so highly!! read more

Our son was in this school for 4 years from the "baby room" right through pre-K, during the turbulence of COVID. Our experience of the school has been fantastic and he has formed wonderful relationships with friends and teachers. It really feels like a family. Ms Donna and the crew constantly impress. We came here when 3 months pregnant with a goal to secure a spot early and boy, are we glad we did! The ratios of teachers to children was so important to us, and that was a huge factor in us choosing Education Station. Every time we pick up our son, someone is playing with him, holding him, or he's napping right next to a watchful eye. Even as an infant (aka: a potato that poops), eye contact and stimulation is important, and ES knows it. They give us little report cards and post photos a few times a week to show the daily routine. The only drawback is that ES is a pretty large center, and there is no parking lot. Pulling in at prime drop off and pick up times can get a little tough to get a parking spot right next to the building (which, in winter or summer, walking two blocks carrying a car seat with a fat baby in it is a workout!). We're really eager to see how our little one continues to flourish in their care for years to come. read more

My son has been going to education station since he was 12 weeks old and he loves it! Every day when I open the car door and he realizes we're at school, he grins ear to ear. In the infant room, they do multiple arts and crafts projects each week, have musicians come in, and even bring them outside when the weather is nice. Each and every teacher takes a personal interest in my sons development and being a first time mom, they've offered helpful suggestions based on their extensive experience with kids. They're a fantastic resource to have. We picked education station because we both work in the city and it had the longest hours and was next to the train station. We lucked out with a great environment for our son. I know as he moves to the older rooms he'll love the cooking, yoga, gardening and outdoor play activities they have! read more

Both of our sons attended Education Station. One did after attending a chain day care center. We enjoyed our chain experience, but Education Station really knocked it out of the park. The small student/teacher ratio, the advanced curriculum, and the emphasis on outside play was what really made the difference. Not to mention, the personability, creativity, and professionalism of the entire staff was a huge advantage. We have since moved from NJ but our older son still talks about his teachers and friends from over 6 months ago as though it were yesterday. read more

My daughter is so happy at ES. She has fun playing and learning, gets tons of outdoor time, does art projects, helps grow things in the garden, and gets all the TLC she needs (which was my biggest concern first sending her during a high-separation-anxiety stage two years ago). Everyone on staff has been wonderful since day 1--cheerful, patient, caring, and consistent, even in these trying pandemic times! I know it costs a bit more than some others in the area, but for staff that treats my daughter as family, and the huge outdoor space, it is worth the difference. My daughter was in the toddler 5 class at Education Station for a year. Sadly, we moved out of Essex County otherwise we definitely would have kept her there. All of the teachers are so warm and wonderful-- I always felt that the teachers truly cared about her, and made her (and all the kids) feel loved. They do tons of fun activities with them (including water play in the summer, gardening, etc.) and have lots of outdoor space to play. The director/owner was also really flexible with us and the school's communication is really great. I highly recommend Education Station! read more

When my wife and I moved to Montclair with our toddler we had heard really good things about Education Station from our new neighbors so we did our research and decided to enroll our 1.5 year old son there. We love this place. The facility is clean, professionally run, organized, and welcoming. The staff is attentive, communicates well with parents and really focus on the well-being and education of the kids. More than anything, the place just has a really sweet and nurturing vibe to it that both my wife and I and our son enjoyed. Most importantly, we noticed almost instantaneous results with our son once he started attending Education Station. Their education and activity plans had dramatic results in developing our son's speech, motor skills and interaction with others. This is NOT dropping off your kid to have recess all day. This is leaving your kid with education professionals to help them learn and grow. We love Education Station and HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking for a daycare for their little ones. read more

Excellent day care and educational facility! Our daughter has been there since she was 10 months old and is now moving up to kindergarten at Education Station. She absolutely loves the place and all her teachers there. Plus we are constantly amazed by the stuff she learns and activities they do everyday. It's not just a place where they take care of your children, they really have a professionally crafted curriculum to keep the kids learning while having fun. We love Education Station! We started our son here in the infant room at 5 months, and he's currently in the toddler room at just over 2 years old. I'll never forget the comfortable feeling that washed over me as I got to know the teachers and directors of the school, and saw how my son reacted to them. They are professional, but most importantly, they are nurturing and caring. Our son SPRINTS to the door in the mornings, and loves his teachers, the directors and the owner. I can't say enough good things about Education Station! My son (now almost 1), has been attending since 3 1/2 months and absolutely thrives there. The teachers are engaging, fun, and so incredibly loving!! And everyone there truly cares (a huge shout out to administrator Mr. Michael who took such amazing care of our little guy when we were both trapped in horrible traffic during the recent storm and simply could not get there, for hours, and whose only concern was our safety and well being). Our 3 year old and 1 year old both started at ES at 4 months old and we couldn't be happier with the care they have provided. I had such anxiety before I returned to work after having my first baby but ES made the transition easy. The teachers are amazing and genuinely care about the children. It feels like dropping them off with family. Now that our oldest is able to communicate he is always talking about his friends, teachers and what he learned and is excited to go to school every morning. Our 1 year old runs towards the door and doesn't look back to say goodbye. Their curriculum is also amazing. Our oldest is currently in a pre-school classroom and is learning so much. They also made potty training a breeze. As another parent commented, they do a lot with the infants and younger toddlers as well. The teachers really understand the importance of exposing the young children to different experiences and concepts. I don't know how the infant room teachers manage to get all the babies suited up to go outside every nice day, but they make it happen! read more

I can not say enough wonderful things about the Education Station. I have three children - 1 in college, 1 about to go to college and 1 in high school We started with infant care and stayed for summer and school vacation camp. Why am I writing a review now? Because when we became an Education Station family in 1998 - (yes 20 years ago!)- there were no reviews, no ratings, no on-line photos. Just a feeling that these people genuinely cared about our family. We had to enroll on instinct - but I am here to attest two decades later that those babies/toddlers/pre-school kids were more than prepared for elementary school and have turned into incredible adults - smart, curious, funny, and kind. Traits that were nurtured and encouraged by their caretakers at the Education Station. We are so grateful for all they taught us (special shout out to Donna for getting all 3 out of diapers, and drinking from a cup!) and creating a second home for them. While choosing child care is one if the hardest things a working parent can do - rest assured that the Education Station isn't just interested in providing a safe place for you child but an environment where they will thrive and create wonderful childhood memories. read more

My daughter has been attending Education Station since she was 4 months old. I did a ton of research before making a decision on where to send her for daycare and two years later I know I made the right choice. The curriculum is solid without being too much. She has gotten music class once a week since the infant room and every morning it's easy to get her out the door because she is excited to "play with friends." They also have one of the biggest (if not the biggest) outdoor play spaces in the area, which was important for us. To call the teachers wonderful is an understatement. It takes a village and I'm so thankful that mine is full of people who love and care for her when I'm at work - and she adores them right back. read more
