As first time parents, my husband and I were anxious to find the best daycare for our son. Given that we live in a small community with many young children, we heard lots of feedback regarding all of the daycare options around us. After looking into everything from a nanny to a home daycare provider, we found EPC. Ashley, the director, met with us over Zoom (oh pandemic babies) and made us feel so comfortable and dare I say excited about sending our son to EPC. And after our first in person visit, we were absolutely sold. Every single person that we walked by on that day gave us a big smile and wave. We could tell that they loved their jobs and all of the kids they work with. Being an educator myself, I know how much I love my students. Feeling this love from all the staff at EPC was enough to convince me that this was the daycare for us. If that's not enough to convince YOU, here are some more perks of EPC: - Free diapers and wipes in the baby room. This really cut down on our diaper costs for those months! - Breakfast/lunch/snacks are included once babies are old enough to enjoy finger foods. One less thing for mom/dad to worry about! - Pictures and updates are sent via an app throughout the day. Best part of my day is seeing all the amazing activities my son is doing! - Easy and immediate communication via the app. You can send messages directly to the teachers and the director. They've always gotten back to me within a few minutes of sending anything. - Teachers are provided with ongoing professional development. I know that my son isn't just being well taken care of, but he's actually learning new things and thriving at EPC. - They never close. Like ever. Finally, given that this is COVID times, I must say that the staff at EPC has done an amazing job keeping everything clean and safe. In our 7 months there, we have only needed to quarantine once and EPC refunded us for all of the days that we missed. This is just the nature of the COVID beast but the refund really shows how much EPC cares about doing right by their families. We love EPC!! read more

Now that I pulled my daughter out of the program at EPC after only 1 month, I gave myself a couple months to "cool off" before deciding to write this review. Upon touring the facility, my 3 year old had a wonderful time. I even left for an hour and came back to find her happy as ever. Let me be clear: I felt that the only people who DID care, were my daughter's teachers. And unfortunately, you could tell they were only able to do so much. In a matter of 3 weeks, I had 3 separate communication issues with EPC - after paying close to $1400 to just get my daughter into the program (she was only attending 2 full days if you can believe that), she started to become increasingly aggressive at home. My mornings on days I would drop her off were horrendous - gone was my sweet little girl who would want to make friends wherever she went. I dropped her off screaming and crying and I would pick her up screaming and crying. She was "fine" during the day but I would never receive pictures until almost 3pm, some days not even receiving a picture of MY child but some random picture of an activity they would be doing. My daughter was talking for weeks about how she was told she was being "naughty" in school yet when I asked several people, I was never given an answer. The only thing I was told was "Well, the boys in her class are a little rambunctious." I took that to mean that they were somehow making excuses for children to hit and be violent. Some people see that as kids being kids however, I see it as "Hey, you're kid is a little a-hole and their ruining my kid's emotional well being." Between uncharacteristic behavior from my daughter and the directors who couldnt even be bothered to smile in your direction when you passed them, I had it. This place (as someone suggested in another review) is simply an overpriced puppy mill for children. It took me close to 2 months to forgive myself for putting my daughter through that. I had her in another school within a week after I took her out. In fact, I was so adamant about not sending her there any longer, I gave them their 2 weeks notice and kept her out of EPC the entire time. They're concerned with money, the teachers are hit or miss and you'd be doing your child a disservice by sending them here. Nothing is individualized, children are "let loose" on the playground to do whatever they feel like and once they have your money, you are just a check to them. It's amazing to see my daughter where she is now - she has grown tremendously, loves her teacher and asks to go to school on days she doesn't have to. My children, ages two and four, have been in daycare programs from the age of 16 weeks. We loved our first daycare, but as time passed and our 'favorite' teachers came and left, it was clear that the management of the center had fallen below acceptable. My husband and I being proponents of large 'school like' centers, we found another one close to home and affordable. Unfortunately, within the first year and with one months notice, we were told the center would be closing - and we were offered a spot at Education Playcare. The team at EP has been welcoming, engaging, and responsive through the entire transition. The first concern when transferring daycare centers is the staff - it's important my children feel safe with their teachers. EP always has a staff board up front where you can see all staff names, pictures and classroom assignments. When walking the halls, within two weeks, everyone knew my girls names and made a point to say hello when they saw them. I've even seen some teachers at off site birthday parties - you can tell that they do what they love and love what they do and the kids are important to them. Many of the kids in the preschool class have been together since they were born so it feels much like family here, and everyone has been warm and welcoming to both of my daughters. Communication is EP's strong suit. Out of the three centers we've been through, this is the first center to provide updates via email during the day. The "Tadpole" App is the best thing going - I get emails all day with pictures of the kids doing different art projects, playing games, sitting in circle time, reading books, etc. As a working parent, it can be easy to feel a bit detached from your children during the day. The "how was your day" question gets the usual eye roll, but when we can ask questions that reference specific activities we get much more detailed responses. We get emails about sicknesses, center updates, programs etc. - I never feel like I don't know what is going on, and that is comforting. Daycare is expensive - that is unavoidable. In my eyes, you must get a return on the investment. Not only does EP provide a fully NAEYC accredited preschool program and a selection of enrichment programs (yoga, music, art, etc.) - they provide snacks, lunches and beverages too! Our morning stress level has gone down significantly now that we don't risk leaving our lunches at home. Family style lunch has taught both children patience and manners, and we certainly see that reflected in our family dinners at home. There are new toys and furniture being delivered daily and just recently the center was repainted and the sidewalks outside were fixed. It is very clear that the center is focused on keeping a clean and organized environment. Kaley Dehm, the assistant director, has always been there to answer my questions on site or during the day via email. She is responsive and always smiling. Danielle Hunter, the new center director, is better than the last by a million to one! She is quick, helpful, friendly and efficient. The two women make a really, really great team. Overall - we are very happy with the transition and are so very thankful our girls have now become a part of the EP family. We recommend this center to all! read more

My daughter is going to this playgroup since she was 5 months old. Sending her to this playgroup was the best decision we made as it has helped her become comfortable among other people, helped her communicate and express herself. She enjoys going to playgroup. It's difficult to find a place you feel comfortable leaving your little one while you're at work. We looked at a few different places in the Windsor/Bloomfield areas and decided on EPC. It was the best decision! Our son started attending EPC when he was about 8 weeks old and it was pretty stressful to have to put him in daycare so young in the first place. We couldn't decide if we wanted to have a nanny care for him or daycare but we felt it would be important for him to interact with other kids and be a part of a structured curriculum, especially as he gets older. They engage the kids in various learning and play-based activities throughout the day, even for the kids under one years of age. They provide healthy meals and snacks for the older kids and have a diaper program you can enroll in so that you don't have to bring them in (it's very affordable and actually included for the under 1 classroom!). The managers are very friendly and accessible. The teachers are excellent. Our son LOVES his teachers which makes us that much more comfortable and happy with our decision. I love that they send you pictures throughout the day of your child and the activities they participate in, it makes a tough work day much easier! I've been very happy with EPC so far and I truly hope we continue to feel this way. Yes, it is pricey but in all honesty, it's pretty average in price compared to the other places we looked at. Daycare in general is expensive- who knew!? I would recommend looking at several options before making your decision but definitely consider EPC,it's great! read more

We are very disappointed with Educational Playcare, Windsor. My kid was bullied and hit on head several times (almost daily ),and after the hitting incidents we had complained several times to the management as well as the teachers there..but gave us false assurance as they said they were already aware about the notorious boy in their class..but they Failed to take any appropriate action or improve the situation as we continued to hear every few days of being hit by him. My kid was emotionally hurt and upset after such frequent incidents at day care. EPC boasts great things about their center but they just want to earn money and don't want to care about child's emotional wellbeing & safety instead encourage and flourish bullying kids in their care center. My child has attended other schools and daycare as we relocated different places..but sending my child to EPC was our BIGEST MISTAKE. Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. We love EPC! Our 8 month old has been going there almost 6 months, she loves it and we feel good leaving her there. The teachers are always patient and kind (with the kids AND the parents!) and they are all such hard workers. They do great activities, and one of our favorite things is getting pictures of our little girl throughout the day - it really helps to see her playing, learning and enjoying her day. read more

We enrolled our 3 year old daughter into Educational Playcare in December of 2016 after our previous daycare suddenly closed. As you can imagine, this was a difficult time for us, as my husband and I were very happy with our daycare and concerned that we would not find another one that we would like as much. To our surprise, we were wrong and have come to love this daycare even more! The enrollment process was so easy and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us by scheduling a tour at our convenience. We were so impressed with the center as a whole, that we enrolled her that day! We had toured other daycares in the area, however Educational Playcare stood out from all the others. The amazing curriculum, friendly staff and the nutritious meals (breakfast and lunch) and snacks offered daily, were among some of the characteristics that immediately impressed us. The center is clean with huge rooms filled with a large variety of toys and activities and the outdoor playground is quite impressive too. We were offered the opportunity to drop our daughter off for a trial before she started attending full-time. That day, she was immediately welcomed by the classroom teachers and her classmates too. She was made to feel like she was a part of the class and not the new girl. When we returned to pick her up, she did not want to leave and that's when we knew that we had made the right decision for our family! We have come to know the staff well and always feel assured that our daughter is well cared in our absence. There is an app that Educational Playcare provides the families with in order to keep us informed of the various activities our child participates in throughout the day. We are also provided with a variety of pictures and a daily report informing us of how our child ate, slept and what the various activities consisted of throughout that day. My husband and I never have to worry and are confident that our daughter is kept safe, stimulated and busy throughout the day. The communication at Educational Playcare is outstanding. We are provided with weekly emails informing us of the topic for the week as well as activities planned. We are also kept in the loop regarding staffing changes and important information involving our child. We are also impressed with Educational Playcare's dedication to their staff and enjoy reading the Core Recognition emails which highlights an exemplary staff member each week. We have now been with Educational Playcare for 5 months and remain impressed with the center and extremely pleased with our decision. We have been so pleased, that we have even enrolled our 5 year old son into the 9 week summer program starting in June. We have recommended this center to others that are looking for quality daycare and do not hesitate to give Educational Playcare a 5 star rating. read more

I've always been a overprotective parent! I was always so scared for my daughter to attend a big daycare with a lot of kids but let me tell you! Educational Playcare of Windsor is the best decision I have ever made. My daughter has been attending since January and I have seen so much improvement with her speech. She is singing songs! Counting, saying her ABCs and doing sign language!!! I'm am so happy with how far she has came in just 3 short months! The staff are so friendly always wishing you a good day in the morning and greeting you. The daycare is very clean. They use a app called tadpoles where you get pics and updates during the day which is such a plus! I love seeing daily pictures and videos from my baby girl and that just warms my heart that she is happy! I greatly suggest this daycare to anyone that just not sure or is nervous like me. EPC in Windsor has been great for our family. Our 3 year old has been going since she was an infant and our 5 month old began recently. The teachers are amazing and treat our girls like their own. They have always addressed any concerns we have had and the teachers go out of their way to make sure we are comfortable with midday calls to update us or pictures and videos sent throughout the day. Our toddler has trouble with transitions and all her teachers worked with her and us to help prep her for the new baby and her move to the preschool. Because of them it all went much smoother than I expected. Returning to work has been so much easier because I know I am leaving my baby with people that I trust. I often visit during the day and it is obvious that all the infants are happy and taken care of. We could not be happier! read more

I must say, finding a daycare for my now 8 month old son was very stressful. The first daycare my son attended was suddenly closing and my husband and I were left scrambling to find a new facility for our baby. When we first visited Educational Playcare, my husband and I fell in LOVE with the facility. Among the amazing faculty and staff, the rooms are HUGE and very clean. There are so many toys for my baby to play with and they have an amazing curriculum specific for every age group! They send us updated pictures throughout the day so we can see what our son is doing - what an amazing thing! I never have to "worry" about my son because I am in consistent contact with this daycare. My husband and I have very close relationships with the staff there and consider them family. I know that my baby is well taken care of at Educational Playcare and I wouldn't take him anywhere else. We love everything about this daycare and will be taking all our other children here too! read more

We had a lot of debate about if we wanted to use a daycare center. EPC completely changed our views. We enrolled our son full-time at Education Playcare as an infant and have never regretted the decision. The staff is helpful and communicates well, and the teachers are amazing. Our son is almost two and has been ahead of the curve on all of the developmental steps. I credit EPC for most of that as they work things like sign language in at an early age, making communication at home much easier. They also recognize where a child is in their development and are willing to stray from the rigid age based classrooms when appropriate to make sure you kid is happy and in the appropriate classroom. We also love the Tadpoles app which gives up pictures throughout the day. Even with all of this good stuff, our favorite part has been the communication and handling of challenging situations. With kids there will always be bumps, scrapes, falls, bites, more falls, etc. This is especially true with our little monster trying to run and jump before he could balance his giant head. The entire staff is open about anything that may have happened and responds appropriately whether that means simply giving you a quick heads up when you pick up your child or giving you a call at work when something may need your attention. Unfortunately we had an issue where our son's finger was broken during normal playtime. I do not thing the teacher could have done anything to prevent it, but at the time we wanted to make sure we felt safe keeping our son at EPC. When we expressed concern, the EPC team from teachers all the way up to the owners were a complete open book helping us understand what happened and making sure we continued to feel that our son was in a safe and loving environment. Educational Playcare has been a great daycare. The teachers work with us as partners in providing healthy and educational experiences for our two young children (2.5 and 4 years old). Educational Playcare offers flexibility and is very dependable. In fact, it stays open unless the state closes roads or declares a state of emergency and is also open bank holidays, so we don't have to search for alternative daycare. We love that twice a year we get to sit with teachers and talk about our children's progress. They are open to talk more frequently, if we want, but this structure helps us understand their development. Our oldest is learning to read and is very excited to recognize sight words. The daycare is also able to reliably deliver asthma medication when necessary, which puts my mind at ease. We plan to send baby #3 to Educational Playcare in the fall, and feel assured that they will have quality care. read more

We love, love, love Educational Playcare!!! Our favorite features are the daily pictures and reports they send right to your phone through the Tadpoles app, the opportunity to do group Piano lessons through Happy Piano, and the kitchen in house that they have to prepare snacks and meals for the kids. We've had great teachers too. Ms. Michelle and Ms. Heather are our favorites. The Directors, Tracey and Erica are also very responsive to any concerns. read more

EXCELLENT!! My one year old has been enrolled for two months now and I couldn't have asked for a better place to send her. My intentions behind putting her in EPC was so that she could begin developing the social skills that she possibly lacked in our previous one child childcare setting. I have been AMAZED at all that they do with the children to develop their overall skills - even at only 1 year old! Our daughter is almost two and has attended EPC in Windsor for a year and a half. I could not say enough great things about this daycare, or as we call it, school. The teachers are amazing and truly care about the children and are always happy to explain any questions a parent might have. They teach the children based on that child's individual needs and I feel like so much has been invested in my daughter. She is constantly learning new things, whether that be from sign language, reading, activities, exploring, circle time, the arts, etc. The most important quality to me is that she is super happy to go every day (and usually doesn't want to leave!). It is comforting to know that she is enjoying herself and learning every day. I can guarantee that EPC has enriched not only her life but ours too! We LOVE Educational Playcare! Our son has been attending EPC for 2 years. The teachers are wonderful! We trust the staff and feel that our child is well cared for. Communication is also excellent. Not only does the staff verbally communicate with us; but they send us a daily report as well as photos of our son doing activities throughout the day. EPC also focuses on education and our son's language and development has flourished. And the food they offer is healthy. We are so very happy that we found EPC! Their are a few good people at educational playcare. However, this daycare facility is unorganized and staff members are irresponsible. My daughter was bitten by other kids twice at the facility and I was never informed. When I confronted them about the issue they had an attitude and I even ask to see the cameras and they refused to show them to me. What's the use of having cameras in the school if your not going to allow concerned parents to see them after an incident has happened to your child at their facility. The staff members always appear to be stressed out and seem to hate their job. A few staff members are assigned to too many kids per classroom. They also have a high rate of staff turnover and I see why. They never even invited my daughter to the graduation that they had there. When I tried numerous times to get in contact with the owners of educational playcare, they were always unavailable. read more
