The teachers and directors were always super sweet to us. But when my younger son was 2 years old the school had no idea how to handle age appropriate negative behaviors. Some 2 year olds can be challenging but instead of trying to help, they instead tried everything to get us to leave the school and transfer him out. I would pick him up every day and his diaper and pants would be soaked and I would ask "how come no one changed him?" And consistently I would get the answer "he refused." Ummm a 2 year old refused to change their diaper and you are ok with that? Same thing with food. He would not be given his lunch but everything was thrown out daily. Their attitude towards us changed completely. No more sweet, helpful teachers and directors. It was just a very uncaring situation when a child becomes a little challenging. But if your child follows all their rules and never gives any problem (like my older one), they will do fine. We switched my younger one to Joni's down the street (I was hesitant because the building was older and cramped and I hadn't known much about that school). But I am so thankful for the switch. He did amazing and he thrived there with their love.

Not only in terms of learning, but the love my girls receive from every single teacher is nothing short of fantastic. They are deeply invested in each child's development and well-being. The skill building that happens here is impressive, with a wide range of creative, engaging, and developmentally appropriate activities that keep the children excited and wanting to participate. My girls come home daily with another project that they created at school and the sense of pride on their face is amazing. Over the past year especially, we have seen many positive changes that have made an already great program even better. Communication, organization, and programming have all improved drastically with the director, Ms. Allison. Check-in and drop-off are seamless and stress-free on the school's end, which makes a huge difference for us. My girls take forever to leave because they need to make sure they say goodbye to all the teachers and Ms. Allison. The car ride home is a flurry of stories about what they learned and how great their day was. Even the school itself is impeccably clean and well maintained, which gives us so much peace of mind. Above all, it's clear how much the staff truly care about each and every child that enters through their front door. The overall environment lacked professionalism and respect. Several staff members were disrespectful when communicating with both parents and children, which is unacceptable in a place that is supposed to support young kids. It often felt like concerns were brushed off rather than taken seriously. One of the biggest issues was the lack of supervision. Teachers were frequently on their phones instead of actively watching the children. In a daycare setting, supervision should always be the top priority, and it was alarming to see how often this seemed to be ignored. Unfortunately, the leadership from the director did not improve these issues. A daycare director should model professionalism and ensure a safe and respectful environment, but that did not seem to be happening. Some of the concerns included: * Allowing teachers to be on their phones while supervising children * Failing to ensure proper supervision in classrooms * Not addressing staff behavior when it is unprofessional or disrespectful * Dismissing or minimizing parent concerns instead of investigating them * Poor communication with families * Lack of accountability for staff actions * Creating an environment where staff do not appear to be held to high standards A daycare director should be actively ensuring that children are safe, staff are attentive, and parents feel comfortable raising concerns. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here. Parents trust childcare centers with the most important thing in their lives, their children. Professionalism, supervision, and respectful communication should be the bare minimum, and sadly those expectations were not met in our experience.

The teachers are great, and the teacher to student ratio is excellent (3 kids to 1 teacher in the 3 year old program). The entire facility is very aware of childhood allergies, and if your child has a sensitivity of any kind, it is addressed. This is great to keep in mind. Fortunately, my kids aren't allergic to anything, but I understand what a challenge this for other families.

My son did well at the preschool program for almost a year and a half. He has some…read moremedical/behavioral issues which they were beyond helpful about working with him to address. As with most preschool/daycare programs, there is a mix of kids of varying ability levels and backgrounds. There is also a mix of younger and older staff. They are all adults with the younger ones typically in college for education/child development. I found the management was very open to feedback and questions about my child or the program/staff. All daycares/preschools have their staff/program quirks, but I always felt good about leaving my son in their care. I found them to be the most responsive child care providers out of all the ones I've tried over the years for either of my kids. I also found that they were the most honest and conscientious of any place I've been about keeping staffing ratios and safety measures in compliance. I found them very responsive, even proactive, and willing to work with me on anything. The summer camp experience is a little different from the school year program, but they are always making changes to improve the program. They genuinely care about the kids. You can tell some places are all about the money and don't care about the quality or improving programming. Because of the setting of the school, the kids are able to have some really great experiences that they won't get in almost any other daycare/school setting. Both of my kids rave about Channel 3 kids camp. My son has many fond memories of his preschool time.

We have been with BAL for a few years now and I could not imagine sending them anywhere else. They are up to date on current practices and are constantly learning more to provide the best for my kids. We toured a couple places in the area and this one was quickly at the top of our list for many reasons. First - the staff. When it comes down to it, you want to make sure your kids are happy, healthy, and safe. The teachers are so warm, kind, and gentle. They were willing to work with our existing schedules while also providing tips. Second - the environment. We loved that the infant room wasn't harshly bright and there wasn't any over stimulating toys. The school focused on a Montessori approach that my oldest is absolutely thriving with. Third - the responsiveness. You're are never left waiting. The teachers and staff are so quick to reply and implement. It's such a wonderful feeling to know they are on top of things. Any questions, whether it's about your child's sleep or you have something related to finance, they make you a top priority.

I was told by the director she was concerned about our question about wanting to know the price and how they compare to facilities in the area. She didn't think it would be a good fit- mind you never meeting me, my daughter, or knowing any information about us. She proceeded to say she will have the assistant director email me the packet. It's Tuesday, it has yet to be sent. My husband sent an email with how we were treated and concerns. The director called me, I was not on my phone so my husband called her back. She was rude to him and me on the phone. I would never have my daughter watched by her.
