They asked me what kind of strings to put on the guitar and didn't mention anything about a charge for that, which is fine, but maybe telling your customers the whole total cost when the last total they hear is $25. I understand buying the strings and having a charge (I don't expect anything for free), so the total ended up being about $70. When I initially pulled the guitar out of the case, it was buzzing a lot more than when I brought it in. The man at the counter (who is nice and clearly overworked) just kind of shrugged and told me to leave it so they could do more work. I couldn't fathom leaving it (I've done all my own work on my guitars and was kicking myself for taking the easy way out), so knowing this is a smaller mom and pops kind of place, I decided to pay and take the guitar home, hoping it would settle a bit. I'm glad I did. I pulled the guitar out and adjusted it slightly and the buzzing is 95% gone, which is better than before I brought it in. They did decent work. I'm glad I brought it in. I apologize to the guy at the front desk for my initial reaction, but for someone in customer service (I've been in customer service for 20 years myself) his etiquette could use a little work. I've been jaded by other techs before which is why I do most of my own work, but this instance worked out and I am a happy customer. Make sure to tally up all costs and information about the process so you don't show up having to pay more than expected. All in all, I would recommend the shop, just know what you're walking into! Get all the information and be patient with the man at the counter, I've worked in guitar shops before and I know how frustrating the interactions with patrons can be. All in all, this is one of the few guitar shops in the area and I hope they continue to prosper.
