Great place for kids from 1 to about 12. My 3 and 5 year old were entertained in each area longer than I expected. Great variety of exhibits combining learning and fun.

I been to 3 children's museum and this is one of my favorites. I been there once when my son was 11MO (not walking yet) and again at 17MO (now running). When he was 11MO, we mostly spent time in the baby/toddler area since it was busy and I felt like he was going to get run over in other areas. The second time, we visited was much better since it was a Monday afternoon. We had most rooms/activities to ourselves so he could explore more. His favorite rooms were the grocery store and the vet/pet grooming room. We plan on visiting every time we are in Columbia as it is a great place to entertain kids for hours.

Everything went well except for the fact that it felt so grimy and unclean throughout. We were here all day and never saw any cleaning of places or things where snot, sneezes, and grumpy hands had accumulated. The fire truck exhibit is great but not knowing or being able to where your children are going to come out is dangerous. We watched a child come down the slide and head straight for the front door!

I love taking my daughter to Edventure because it has tons of things for kids to do. My daughter's favorite area is the supermarket and kitchen and the playground. She can literally stay there all day. I pay for the membership because I have 5 kids total and it just makes sense to save the money. We go there often for her to get her energy out especially when we have some free time.

Even grown ups love this place!

We have been here twice now and just love it!! It's so hard to get my kids to even leave. They love all the activities and things to see and do. Whenever we visit Columbia South Carolina we try to bring the kids here. Even Grandma Nonna was having a blast on the bike!

Hands on interactive science museum for children. This was one of the best activities we did while in S.C. There's so much to see and do for the kids. The firetruck and grocery store were some of my son's favorite items to play with here. The grocery store even has the Publix vests! The little diner spot was always busy with kids "cooking, cleaning and serving food" I hope the workers get at least $50k for working here because it's insane and they've all kept their cool. There was a buzzer going off at the dairy farm and it didn't even phase them.

Not they bad. Wasn't too expensive. Several different type of exhibits. The negative is kids just running around like crazy.

So I decided to take my homeschoolers here for a field trip. Prices were great for the experience. I give it 3 stars because Some of the outdoor activities didn't work, maybe because the weather and The bio lab got cancelled. We did the cooking lab which was really fun. My kids had fun, it was a great learning experience, I would definitely take them back.

I used to come here years ago with my older kiddos, and we decided to come back for a visit with the younger one. We had a good time, but it just wasn't as good as I remember it. There were so many things on the directional signs that we asked about and they said aren't there any more and haven't been for a long time. It seems like it needs some updates, and they just haven't done them. My kids' favorite things were the oversized chess board and the how to make slime science lab class. We spent about an hour and a half there and felt like we had seen and done everything. I remember there being more to do, and for the price, I would just expect a little more. With that being said, we still had a good time for the short time we were there, but I don't think we will be back again.

I'm not sure that they even like children. When my older children were little, I used to bring them and that staff would interact with the kids and parents. Most of this staff just sits on side, ignoring children and adults. There is one lady, Miss Wendy that all of my kids love, but she's not there very much. They had an event this weekend and I am glad that we went in the afternoon. My friend got turned away in the morning only an hour after they opened. She said that staff very rudely told her that she should have gotten there earlier. Her children were heartbroken. They did have some people, mainly teenagers with volunteer name tags who were very nice. My little adored the older gentleman who played with him. They had the upstairs set up really cute with a Winnie-the-Pooh exhibit. But unfortunately, they said that it would only be there for that day. They had friendly teens in that space playing with the kids. Admission is not worth it, but their membership is a good value because it includes other museums.

My 4 year old got bored pretty quickly. There also just wasn't a lot to do. There is a dress up area, but it only had a few items, same with the kitchen and pirate ship. I have to agree with another reviewer that the staff wasn't friendly. They were more concerned with everything getting cleaned up. iI's a children's museum - there's supposed to be a level of mess, but when a kid puts a doll at the table and then goes to the kitchen area and you put the doll back, maybe think "was that kid getting food to play feed the doll?"and not assume they were leaving it. Also, parents - there's an overpriced gift/toy section in the front that you can't avoid. Bright side - there's some fun lunch and treat spots close by.

Great dollar value if you're interested in all locations mentioned. The museum was easy to find and offered plenty of parking in a lot shared with the EdVenture Children's Museum. They had many exhibits that our 7 & 12 year old enjoyed but they thoroughly enjoyed the second floor galleries with the dinosaur exhibit and the habitat exhibits. Staff was very friendly and helpful when fielding our questions. They also enjoyed seeing the the history of SC through the years represented through artifacts and the changes from the colony, war, and industrialization of the city with mills and the railroad. They also have a planetarium and a 4D shows offered throughout the day. Highly recommend adding this to your itinerary if you are in the Columbia area! However, we must maintain history and for that purpose the Confederate Relic Room and Museum does a decent enough job of it. Surprisingly the museum has all kinds of drawings of Confederate naval ships which naval operations were far more extensive than I had thought and are near completely overlooked within the museums of Gettysburg. They also have a gun, saber, sword and uniform collection, the labeling of some of which I would question such as what is clearly a sabre being as a sword. The pride of the museum however seems to be its flag collection. Indeed it is said to have the most inclusive battle flag collection of any museum within the United States, though however, it is focused mostly upon the regiments & etc. of South Carolina. Though I can't exactly say I'm a fan of it, as a museum it is unique with well set up displays; hence Four Stars.
