The staff were engaging and friendly. We've been here before when my sons school had a field trip a few years ago, but it was nice going on our own and being able to take our time and do everything. They had an event this weekend and I am glad that we went in the afternoon. My friend got turned away in the morning only an hour after they opened. She said that staff very rudely told her that she should have gotten there earlier. Her children were heartbroken. They did have some people, mainly teenagers with volunteer name tags who were very nice. My little adored the older gentleman who played with him. They had the upstairs set up really cute with a Winnie-the-Pooh exhibit. But unfortunately, they said that it would only be there for that day. They had friendly teens in that space playing with the kids. Admission is not worth it, but their membership is a good value because it includes other museums.

If you pay for an annual membership then you get to play an hour before it opens to the public. They do daily science shows as well as other events that rotate. They had such neat and cool stuff in here. My nieces had an absolute blast on just about everything. It was neat to see different exhibits at this play center such as the firetruck, the boat, the car mechanic, the cafe, and the airline setup. My nieces could have spent all day in there if we would have let them. They also have volunteers walking around through the center cleaning up too! Although we enjoyed our time here I was surprised at how small the place was on the inside. It's two stories but there weren't many play areas upstairs. I've been to bigger discovery kids centers and I wish this one was a little bigger. My youngest niece is only 2 so she was able to play in the small kid area. Even though there were volunteers coming around the facility did not regulate age appropriate kids in the small kid play area. There were 10 Year olds and above coming in the area trying to play. I think they should be a little stricter on this. But overall a cool and fun play for kids!

He is a treasure hunter and prospector with an appreciation for mining shared by me. But I was hesitant to bring he and my grandma here due to the amount of walking and the stairs in the mine. We came anyhow and had a really good visit. We started in the museum. Just a gentle stroll learing about the history of the mine and gold mining in the region in general. Towards the end of the museum you learn about the modern uses of gold (i.e. space applications). There is also a 9 minute video which goes more into depth on the history of the mine as told by the reenactment. I didn't initially plan on sitting through that but it really was informative. After the video we made our way outside and down to the mine. I kept checking with my grandparents to see if they were ok to keep going. They insisted they were. So we entered the mine and into the cold damp darkness. It was AWESOME. As you trek deeper in, you find off shoots from the main tunnel. Each with its own stuff to see. There is one with a vertical shaft going all the way up to the surface. That is a cool perspective. Finally you reach the end and the those darned stairs. There are many of them and they are not all level. Do your best to hold on and climb your way out. Then you'll find yourself outside about half way up the hill. But wait. There's more. After you exit the mine you can still climb higher up the side of the hill. Up to the top of the shaft you saw from below and beyond. At the very top there is a big smoke stack. A chimney left over from the steam engine used during mining operations. It was an impressive site to behold. Now back down the hill side and back to the visitor center. Our visit was complete but there was more to see. There are more trails to explore. The park also offers gold panning for a small fee. We came across one small lad who was so excited that he found gold. He ran up to my grandpa to show off his treasure. None of us could actually see anything but if this kid found anything, it was the thrill of a life time. This park has that magical way about it.

I've been…read morewith the grands to the Science Center many times, and today was my first visit with them to the Greensboro Children's Museum. They have carefully and creatively designed areas for the children to explore. I was impressed that some of them are designed for the 5-year-old + crowd to create things to make them work, such as a movable pipe system to create paths for balls to go through. There were so many hands-on activities for the kids. A grocery store, pizza parlor, Postal Service, and Medical Center, are all designed to let the kids pretend to their heart's content. Kids seemed to love the transportation area, will full-size police car, fire truck, mail truck, EMS, and my personal favorite - the NASCAR race cars. The final area we visited (my son-in-law knew to make it the last thing) was the waterworks play area. Very clever water activities for all the kids and wisely placed dryers to dry wet hands (maybe some shirts as well!) Since it was December and chilly we didn't explore the huge outdoor activity area. Brenner Children's Museum, and they are always such a treat! It's so much fun to explore the exhibits without kids around and enjoy the playful, creative atmosphere. The museum was the first children's museum in the Triad and still features some of its original exhibits -- including the iconic big red chair, which is a total photo favorite! During regular hours, the museum is perfect for kids ages 0-12, with hands-on learning and interactive play spaces that spark curiosity and imagination. But my personal favorite -- the Neptune Climber XXL -- is definitely for all ages! It's an amazing structure that brings out everyone's inner child. I mean it is 2 stories high. The staff is friendly, the events are well-organized, and the museum continues to be a special part of Greensboro. Whether you're bringing little ones or attending an adult night, this place never fails to bring smiles and good memories.

If you want to visit, call or email to check for availability of the facility. What This Means: When you reserve a time (1 hr min - 8hrs max a day) up to 30 people can come and you will have the facility to yourself. When you leave, to assist in keeping everyone safe, everything will be cleaned and sanitized for the next reservation. With this having to be done with COVID-19 approved cleaning solutions there will be $10 an hr for the reservation. The Museum is a nonprofit service and ran with donations. After hour parties will continue to be the same cost as usual. If you have any questions or want to place a reservation, you can call or email us.
